  2. Don't get me wrong, i appreciate all he did in our Premiership season. Last season though he seemed to have very little impact....in fact he went backwards imo. Personally i rated some of the things he did on the field as exciting, but his consistency may be years away, in fact it may never come. Is he a ruck/a forward/a midfielder? I would say he falls way below expectations on any of those roles currently. As for being childish with the mum insults, it was said tongue in cheek...i could care less what happens to Luke or his mum now he is not one of ours. Just making a prediction that he won't live up to Freo's expectations. He is getting paid like an elite player now, with this comes much greater responsibility....Not sure he is ready for all that entails. Fremantle supporters will expect great things from him on a weekly basis. Apart from being a great athlete i don't think he has the skills/craft to be an elite player wherever placed on the field. Contributing will not be enough given his pay packet If i actually posted any of what you quoted it would have been from 2021....2022 he was super disappointing...His contract discussion was a constant distraction, his form tapered off, by end of year i thought he barely warranted a place in the seniors. After reading 315 pages on him, rightly or wrongly i am entitled to an opinion on him. I do actually watch every match and have an idea on his actual strengths and weaknesses.
  3. Luke i predict will not live up to Freo's expectations at all this year. He will have some good moments, but will frustrate the coach/supporters/players by chasing the ball around the park. He is not going to be a superstar of the competition, will just be happy just chasing that ball. He often plays like a suburban footballer who shows little respect to positioning or his craft. Will be a massive bust for Freo, they will expect big things from him given his pricetag, i think he will falter under the expectation. By end of season i expect he will be under immense pressure. His mum will then tell him none of that matters...as long as he is a good person.
  4. Bags of 9, 4, 8, 24, 3, 5. That is really impressive! Be exciting one to watch. Just a hunch watching the highlights.... he will be playing senior footy this year. Casey games we are going to have lot of players to track. We got a lot of talent developing, exciting times!
  5. i wonder how much our back line gets paid compared to the forwards? Seems we disproportionately have most of our talent in the backline....We also got better backups for our backline too. Something has to give eventually. Petty forward is a risk we can afford to take. He is a better mark than David Neitz imo, who exceled both back and forward. Given the chance he will kill it as a forward, has the required mongrel in him to succeed.
  6. Probably knew some of our players were below their best. Could guarantee they had seen the blueprint to beating us multiple times. Ramp up the pressure in the 2nd half and they will fold...Just stay within touch in 1st half. Tactically we try to hold onto games rather than keep scoring. I don't think we pay any respect to the opp's game plan. We don't make changes during games. A lot of our players look like deers in headlights when the pressure is really ramped up. We have little creativity in our game plan....way too predictable to play against. If we are to contend next season, a better run with injuries would help, but unless we are to address some of the flaws mentioned here...i predict we will go backwards a fair way.
  7. Agreed. I think the main difference was Charlie getting up the ground and winning the foot races back to goal. He tactically played a much smarter game after Hibberd getting the honors in those H & A games. So many were below their best that day...too many injured/beaten up/out of form players. If we are to make changes, i hope selection integrity is at the top of the tree in 2022. More players with exposed form to pick from. When they are picked, they are ready to go. No bringing in underdone players, or rushing in a Salem for example, over a Bowey who was one of our best then dropped.
  8. Cameron was one who did damage getting up the ground and running back towards goal. He hurt us on a day we lost by how much? I should have said Hibbo could not get near him :P I stand by comment he got torched. IIRC Hibberd had very little impact....less than Cameron for sure that day.
  9. Yeah, i also did not think he was purely responsible for all of his goals. Actually, at the time i thought Demonland over-reacted and jumped on him pretty hard over that performance. I think few players in the league could have stopped him that day, was electric. On his day can make the best defenders look silly.
  10. I believe that was another game where Charlie kicked 5 on him during the regular season in 2021. Not 100% on this though! On that day i don't think anyone would have stopped him, was sublime.
  11. Hibbo got torched in our last final vs Cameron. Another year older i doubt he will be able to curtail any/many of the small dangerous forwards. Rivers or Smith would be my pick.
  12. Great for both these guys to get contracts....I hope neither play much senior football next year though as neither are the future. If Goodwin is picking Melksham over Van Rooyen, Turner over Hibberd, we are majorly screwing over developing our list. Goodwin is almost best mates with Melksham and seems to pick him at every opportunity. Please don't do it again Simon, let them help develop some of our younger talent. No favorites!
  13. FB: Lever, May, Rivers HB: Salem, Turner, Brayshaw C: Hunter, Oliver, Langdon HF: Chandler, Van Rooyen, ANB FF: Pickett, Petty, Fritsch FOLL: Gawn, Viney, Petracca INT: Grundy, Jordon, Bowey, Harmes E: Sparrow, Spargo, Brown, McDonald, Hibberd The type of team we would not realistically see round One....Hopefully at some stage during the year! It "should" be a new year and all spots up for grabs. I expect Goodwin will stick with some of his faves, but will be forced into changes through some very ordinary performances from my listed emergencies. There has to genuine pressure on all players to perform, i think after last year we will not wait so long "hoping" player X gains form. Injured or beaten up players to be rested. Changes to winning sides is allowed!
  14. Copy and paste? Capture page image? Print page, there should be heap of ways :P
  15. Along with Gawn is easily our best contested mark. Always competes, whether that be in the air, or on the ground. With our current gamestyle of bombing to the pocket, we literally have nobody that can take a contested mark. If he is not trained as a forward next year i would be suprised....we have plenty of defenders that can play a backline role.. I said in post somewhere on this forum he reminded me very much of a Naughton type (well b4 Garry Lyon). We need talent/fierce competitors all over the ground, but moreso in our front half. I also think our small forward will dine out, if they are front and square with him contesting. Would make our whole forward line walk taller.
  16. So many seem to think he alone is the momentum killer. It is our gameplan guys...we all flood back and often we have zero options forward of wing. He should be pushing either Harmes or Sparrow out of the team as he is better than both currently + more flexible to play other roles. Highly doubt he plays many/any games for Casey next year. If Oliver ever is to get injured, would be one of our 1st picked mids. Criminally underrated player imo....will only get better.
  17. Played a few good games this year. Was a much better year the one prior. For a Senior player he lacks consistency for me. Could never doubt his effort, just his output/skills. Each to their own though!
  18. After watching most of the Brisbane games this year, would have to disagree....And i love Oliver as a player! Neale literally carried his team most of the season, had some phenomenal games and much more damaging with ball in hand.
  19. Makes me wonder....Are they all directed to bomb into that pocket? Imo that "should" be the last option when nothing else is on. Is gameplan a reason we are not showing much creativity? Are we told just to execute basic skills and not really take the game on? Are we just lazy and all head for that pocket and repeat? Do we not have a good forwards coach that is teaching them any forward craft? Our crumbers are rarely front and square. Our talls are rarely leadiing. Imo there is so much that needs to come together in the forward half of ground, we just look amateur in this area. Still not sold on ANB or Spargo as forwards, they work hard defensively but not doing enough in the forward half. Maybe a few personnel changes would help us too? Interested to hear what other posters think in regards to our forward issues and how we go about getting better in this area.
  20. Pretty please Simon! Put him forward next year. We got plenty of defenders, + our whole team floods back. Lets have a bit of talent and grunt in the forward half. He will mark, and more reliably bring it to ground than any of our current forwards. He will pressure/tackle when the ball hits the ground and make others walk taller around him due to his contested work...He will also kick many goals. Honestly if i see us devoid of forward options and he is still playing back i will vomit. We may lose something in the backline...but the gains in the forward half could be greater. We want to play a forward half game but from what i saw this year BB was such a liability when the ball hit the deck it was very easy rebounding for oppositions. Petty would be much tougher for opposition to exploit.
  21. Bit of X factor about him from what i have seen. Doesn't get a heap of the ball, but seems to look good every time he has it. Barely seen him waste a possession. Massive upside if his skills translate to the higher level. Lots to work with, fingers crossed he develops quickly!
  22. One to watch. Very neat disposal skills. Tough for his current size (goes in hard). Seems to have good tank and runs hard both ways. In the Grand Final there were few plays where he ran the length of the ground to be the last man taking the mark in defense. Reminds me a bit of Langer with the gut running to help out team. We are crying out for more good users of the ball (can't have enough of them). Selfless role player and should fit into our team nicely. Hope to see him make a debut next year!
  23. Tmac seems the only real option. Our forward line approach seems like everybody for themselves. There really does not seem to be a solid system that is repeatable, nor creative. We need lot of work in this area...and a lot more accountability from players in this area of the ground.
  24. Yeah, a lot of petty personal insults. Disgraceful. Many of the insults are from absolute nuffies, who just don't rate anyone outside the stars of the competition. He will play senior footy for us next year and will do some good/great things for us. Similar to those whacking Hunter because he had some issues when breaking up with a partner and went off the rails. He will be regular 22 and probably in our top 5 for B&F. Looking forward to seeing what both can offer us! Stop relentlessly bashing strangers. It honestly reflects more on you than anything or anyone else....i am talking about a LOT of you :P
