Farewell Charlie Spargo
Right, I was thinking of where they acquired the ball during the game, rather than where they were listed to play (which I don't rate much). Given the 'all team' / swarming approach, the reality is that HFF doesn't mean as much. What we need is the best players possible who can fit into the game style to add pressure up the whole ground and transition it forward to the waiting arms of Jake Melksham

No one gets the ball on the fwd flank? Culley? Bison? Chin?

AFLW: Rd 03 vs Collingwood
So good to get a close win...particularly over the Pies. Really wish we could play every game at Vic Park, Princess Park, Whitten Oval, Punt Rd or Arden St - no more Casey please!

Players Unwritten Code
Holy Moly. That is such a hand-picked summary of a complex issue. Really disappointing. Try and have a little perspective and kindness.

Intraccuracy!!!
Probably compensating for the lack of technique

Love Jonesy but that coaching appointment was completely baffling

PREGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
I don't think its completely fair to pile on Sharp, we all know his capabilities and limitations. That being said, giving him a go over Laurie or Mentha Jnr is puzzling. You'd love to see us make this one a bit more fun by picking Kentfield and Adams, but I can't really see that happening. I think this game will be a send off for some of the older and more disgruntled players. Who will improve by 10% in the off season to be at the same level they were at this season? I do think Melksham will go around again, though not sure about TMac (unfortunately). I do think we will lose one of May or Lever, and one of Trac or Clarry. I'd hate to see it but it'd be an amazing spectacle if Trac leaves the game by walking into the Collingwood rooms.

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
I was really happy with a lot of yesterdays game, the quick handball stuff was really fun, just that last kick inside 50 hurt us. Really excited about some of the kids and seeing what a new coach and coaching team could do. Windsors run and carry, Langfords mark in the square (!), Disco everywhere...good fun.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Tough gig considering the injuries and form. I actually think we've done OK back there considering the game style and the above. TMac, Disco, Salem, Bowey have all been good to very good. Howes is definitely on the up. McVee hasn't set the world on fire, but he may have an eye out the door.

Caroline Wilson’s article 2 August 2025
The board information is publicly available. If you look up who was on our board in the really bad days, that may give you an idea.

Could not agree more. Back in 2013 (?) we had about a dozen people on the board and were an absolute basket case on and off the field. I believe the Hawks had about 4 on the board and look how they were going. Our club does have a history of people at the top who are happy being on the board for their own ego, rather than for the fans themselves.

Welcome to Demonland: Jai Culley
Really happy for him. It could only have been better if it was at the 'G. You don't play the Eagles every week, but there was definitely some good signs (and size) about him.

It was also damning of the review itself - which was good to see brought to life.

No disrespect intended, but I feel it could descend into this sort of territory:

Perhaps we could make the meetings via Demonland posts?

CASEY: RD 18 vs Sandringham
I think you are being a bit harsh. He's still young. There are a lot of positives about his game. Another summer in the gym and practicing kicking and he will be a lot better

PREGAME: Rd 21 vs West Coast
The team is going to need a big reset before Saturday. I watched a lot of the Eagles game and they aren't very good, but they've got spirit. That's all it took for the Saints to beat us. We really need to start thinking about next year. I was surprised at Petty and Sparrow going in and Spargo being sub, but I haven't got selection right at all this year. A statement should be made at selection. Drop Oliver would be one. Love the bloke but his disposal is killing us. Spargo is a pressure forward, and is ahead of Kolt, which is probably why he got a game. 100% support Petty down back but it seems Goodwin doesn't. Absolutely no harm in getting Luker or Jeffo in there. I thought McVee was poor defensively - we need to make sure everyone picked cares enough to have a go.
