Photo gallery: Wednesday 11 December Have a look at Toump. Gee he impresses me, seems to have added bulk in his upper body. Can't wait to see him tear the opposition a new one this year. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ALEXIS GEORGIOU

I agree with his skill. It will be found out at AFL level easily. His kicks often look lazy and his handballs spin like Cale Morton's used to. I trust our recruiting fully however I believe they may have made an error here. Happy to be proven wrong though. -

Very impressive pick up IMO. Is very good above his head and his kicking action is fluent and straight. Very good kick for goal too. Very good option for the rookie list. Looks like after missing out on Hannath last year, we decided to get a similar player this year. -
I've always been a fan of Thorpy and this year he really has turned the corner. Can play HFF or even cover down back and if you look at his video his chasing and second efforts have improved out of sight. Watch his video especially at 2:30 and look what I'm talking about. Has very good skills too and can run all day.

I know I am in the minority here but I didn't mind the preseason/clash jersey from the early 2000s with the demon on the bottom right of the jersey. It was mostly red also.

Whilst this is untrue I am tipping he actually would do that. I am finding it difficult to spread the hate between him and Carowhine Wilson who has been abnormally quiet this off season -
They missed out on the main draft - PSD or rookie?
Demon_Tingles replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not if they have already told him they will re-rookie him. Harsh but fair going on his output to the MFC -

Ok thankyou for clarifying. I suspect Dan Nicholson may be delisted as he has not been offered a new contract. Is it possible to delist him to free up a PSD pick and then rookie him ? -

Forgive my ignorance on this but do we have any picks in psd or rookie draft ? -

Yes they do care but I just wonder why ? Is it really necessary to pot someone when all they did was post a training report. If he said the wrong name at the altar or during sex then yes he deserves criticism .. but critising a training report when there are so many people here that not only cannot spell players names but also simple words is just pointless. -

A bit like some people on here still continue to call Brent Moloney Brent MALONEY ? who cares seriously at least he took the time to write up a report and I for one am grateful he did. I'm not saying you had a go at him btw just making comment that there are hundreds of people on here who continually misspell players names. -

He could be an absolute gun or he may not be. Simple fact is we used pick 57 on him in an offseason where we traded picks to get the kind of players we wanted anyway. For win-win situations then this is definitely one of them -
Very good pick. Is highly skilled, very good in traffic and also has fantastic evasiveness. It's not like he's the slowest either so I actually see no harm at all in not picking Freeman.

I am actually excited by this kid. Yes he has electric pace and is a very good mark but for me most importantly he actually steadies himself before he kicks the ball. Not many players do that and as a result their kicks are often terrible. Looks to have poise to go with his speed and will only get better. A nice pick up for a late pick -

I have heard this about Neeld so many times and yet not one person says what happened It's not like he comes on this forum daily to check it If you are going to make big statements then you have to be able to back it up. If you are not prepared to do that then just leave the past in the past where it belongs. This is the dawn of a new era and the mistakes of the past need to be left there. -

I think the biggest tick for him is his exquisite left foot he has. Can also sidestep and just looks silky -

Yes he may not be as huge as the other boys, but if you look at his muscle definition it actually isn't that bad. Will be a very good player and definitely cannot go wrong in picking him http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwVSiHjSzCQ -
Not one of them. The only one that comes close to that is Nathan Batsanis .. however I would rather use that pick on Chris Cain as he offers a lot more flexibility in being able to play different positions.

New Major Sponsor: Automotive Holdings Group (AHG)
Demon_Tingles replied to Demon3's topic in Melbourne Demons
Happy with this .. the jumpers the Clark and Trengove are wearing seem to have lost the collar too ? -
I am all for taking Freeman. What we need most now are midfielders who not just get the footy in close but also SPREAD !! I cannot emphasize enough how much we need our footballers to spread to receive the ball. That has been the most obvious way that our disposal differentials are so far apart from the other clubs. It's all good to recruit mids to get the football from the centre square but we need our players to run and spread.

I am thinking this pre season will be a lot easier than the last one. Last season most of the coaches/players commented on how bad the fitness was according to afl standard. Hence the reason Misson had to [censored] the players in pre season. Yes they were cooked coming into round one, however if they really that far below afl standard then it was necessary. This pre season should be a lot easier on the players and they should just have to do the regular amount of running required to be an afl player as their fitness should be better than previous seasons.

Daniel Cross photo announcing signing
Demon_Tingles replied to Demon_Tingles's topic in Melbourne Demons
In truth we definitely are an embarrassment and also an opportunity. Paul Roos signing has brought a significant interest into the Melbourne Football Club now. We should be able to attract some sponsors on top of that. I understand that we have been a joke for the better part of 6 years, however I think it is a perfect opportunity to get on board now and experience the new era of a club that for once seems to be in good shape off the field. On the field is another matter entirely but the business PJ as conducted off the field should be able to attract decent sponsors.... or even A sponsor so that for once we are not introducing recruits with a blank shirt. -

Demon_Tingles replied to Demon_Tingles's topic in Melbourne Demons
This isn't about Cross signing. I for one am glad that he signed. I am just pointing out the fact that it is almost embarrassing that we continually have to find sponsors every few years -
Did anyone else notice the distinct lack on sponsorship on that shirt. I may be the only one, but I am getting over us having to announce players ever couple of years without a sponsor. A few years ago we even had our team photo without a sponsor on it. It is a scathing indictment on this football club as a business that we are continually looking for sponsors. Just my opinion, and I know we are getting a new one but a supposedly professional organisation should be able to hold a major sponsor (even one) for more than a couple of years.
