I am over this pick 2 debate. I honestly think we get some afl experienced mids with our sylvia compo and later picks or psd and just use pick 2 on the best kid in the draft. That way we get some top up experience with later picks and psd but we also get a ready made midfielder who can play 8-10 years. So keep pick 2 and use later picks on afl players and after next season if we are more successful than previous ones suss out free agency. No use trading pick 2 this year as all the good players are staying put now.

We would all do well to remember that anyone who claims to have a source is wrong 90% of the time. Especially if they cannot/will not name them. FWIW I think we may have Michie my old boss actually works at Freo as a trainer and he seems to think that Michie is coming to us. However I wouldn't get my hopes up as nothing has been confirmed and there is still a lot of work to be done on this particular deal and others that the MFC are currently working on.

Did your mate just see that the saints wanted the number 1 pick and make up that trade because it sounds remotely believable. Because if he read it right he would see that GWS have no intention of trading pick 1

Yeah keep pick 2 Rockliff and Shuey required players at their clubs and won't be moving. Id rather keep pick 2 than trade it for a few players who are middle of the rung types.

True well then offer him a 3 year deal with performance/behaviour based clauses and watch him grow under Roos. He is not as bad as people make him out to be through rumours and other BS.

I really enjoy watching Thomas Bugg play, I have also met him and is a very nice kid. Not at all arrogant so if we get into his ear then we are a chance to get him. Play him off half back or wing

Also I am aware that only 4 clubs have traded and I am not throwing my hands up that we haven't landed anyone yet i'm not impatient, I am merely stating that people need to realise it is a lot more difficult for us to attract top players to our club regardless of Paul Roos or us having pick 2

I hate the off season for several reasons and the trade period is one of them. It usually means that the good players that are up for trade get us interested however due to 5 years of inept performances, they do not end up coming here and the ones that we do get we pay a lot over market value for them (ala dawes and clark) Don't get me wrong I love both those players, however I am sure if we did not offer them the amount of money they are on then we would not have picked them up. Fans have to come to terms with the fact that we are not an attractive destination. In fact the only thing that we have to offer them is that we have Paul Roos as our coach now. As good as Roos is I don't think he is enough to get a top class player to sign for us. You can't rely on a new coach to entice players to sign.

Definitely should get him. Young, big bodied and talented individual. Sure he did not perform that well at GC however any player who was slightly off in performance was going to get cut from there with the list they had and culls they had to make. Definitely has the talent and build to succeed in the AFL and Paul Roos I believe is the perfect coach for him. Rookie spot for him and make him work his butt off. Remembering he is still only 21 and already has 3 years of AFL experience.

The saints did put something out saying they would be trading and it would be unpopular Somehow I suspect that McEvoy isn't the only one. Considering they said Montagna won't be leaving and everyone knows about Nicky Dal I suggest it is another of their better players. No way is it Jack Steven though, they still need some decent young established players
