Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1
Roost it far replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think people still confuse quantity with quality. We’re not getting May’s replacement from the draft, we need to trade him in. There’s also only around 2 players at each club who can change a game, if you have the chance to add one go do it. -
Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1

All good points but why would you replace 3 10-21 types when you can add one of the best kids in the draft? Petracca gives us more than ANB, Spargo and Bowey combined. They’re all replaceable Trac isn’t. You watch Trac tomorrow, I’ll put my house on him being BOG. None of the other 3 will do or can do what he can and will do. If a top 3 pick is gettable then go to it. -
We haven’t played with that set up this year
-
If we go 4-4 over the next 8 rounds, get Petty and Oliver back, have Salem coming into some form and aren't carrying injuries then look out. I don't care where those 4 wins come from. Win the last 5 against slightly softer opposition and we'll have our 16 wins and a likely top 4 spot. Hold the faith Demonlanders, we've got this.

I'd back our best 22 against theirs in a big final.

Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1

So if WC come to us and say we’ll take your 3 first round picks for Harley Reid you’d say no thanks? Imagine JHF running around for us only better. -
Clubs bring their finals pressure to games against us so we’re constantly needing to be at our best. I love our draw after the bye.

Uncontracted at years end. Do we make a play for a talented tall who could perhaps play forward for us?
-
Interestingly I thought we showed it in the first half against the hawks, particularly in the first quarter. I thought to my self at the time that they must be preparing to step up a notch. Was PA just one of those games where the opposition was just "ON" and they'd beat anyone? The next 2 weeks will answer that.

Will you BOO Luke Jackson this weekend?
Roost it far replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Absolutely Yes, why wouldn't I? He left, he gets booed....Simple I will add that I boo with a big smile. It's for the theatre of it -
If Smith plays it'll be as a forward. The club gave him another contract and sent him to the forward line. They did that because they think that's his best chance of having an impact at AFL level. I'm not sure I agree with any of it but that's what's going down. Tonight's selection is intriguing. I think it's likely TMac will stay and the only changes will be Sparrow and Woewodin but we'll know soon. If TMac does play and has a howler and Smith kicks a few for Casey again then next week may see him in the big league.

Having watched Casey last week the disposal coming his way was fine. he's done. can't get his hands below his knees. Happy to be proven wrong on this one though as he's just what we need atm.

King rolled out some stats and vision against us tonight. I’d like him to show every other clubs numbers split like he split ours.
-
The game wasn’t lost because of our defence, they were epic in keeping us in it. The games was lost at contest and it was only just lost even though, bar 20 minutes we got flogged, and I mean flogged….except down back. We were 14 points down at halftime FFS. I’d say any other team would have been 6-8 goals down
-
I’m actually really looking forward to Sparrow’s next month of footy. Huge opportunity for him to show his wares.

Keep the mods busy 😂

Nice evaluation and I can’t help but think come Finals time the big 4 will be at stoppages and those numbers may well start falling our way.
-
That would seem logical

Depends on the weather, mid 80,000's at a guess

We need to remember that every club still uses us as one of the benchmarks and going on our ladder position we are that. They come hard and at their home grounds they've been getting us. I think it's obvious we need some outside run but we also need to be cleaner and more measured at the coalface. We're not miles away. In fact I'd say with some rest coming up and a soft draw leading into finals if we can get our best 23 settled and in form we are as good a chance as any of the others. The next 6 games can be 3 - 3 and we're still in it folks.
-
We're not making 5 changes, anymore than 2 would be a major surprise.
-
Woewodin apparently.
-
It won’t be nasty from me. I like Goodwin and think his Premiership year was incredible. Doesn’t mean we can’t discuss his role if we keep losing to top teams. How would you feel if we finished 6th and lost our elimination final this year? Do you think his coaching would be worthy of discussion?

Not at all

I’ll start a fresh one if we lose to Freo
