POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne
I think May, Gawn and Viney have well and truly maintained their standard and both Rivers and ANB have improved. Fritsch is playing poorly atm but he's an opportunist and lets face it those aren't as common as they were in 21 or 22 and 23 for that matter. I think Pickett continues to improve and really only Salem (injuries?) and Langdon have gone backwards. Oliver has seen the biggest drop off this year but that's for a whole host of non footy related circumstances.

Max struggled to do anything except his knees until that fateful day in geelong.......give the kid some time. I actually thought he had some ok moments. McAdams.......I really thought we were getting more than this guy. Hopefully he stays uninjured and gets a full preseason in........AMW.........does he come in for Bowey??

CASEY: RD 13 vs North Melbourne VFL
Iโve only started watching in the 3rd quarter but with all the calls to play him I thought he might at least get a shepherd in 25 minutes of football.

Is Fullarton playing?

I think Woewodin should play seniors for the rest of the year. Iโm not sure about him but Iโm pretty confident heโll give it his all.

positives: youth, particularly McVee and Rivers last night negatives: thought it was poor that we closed up shop so early other things: Viney, Gawn and May....what a joy having these guys in Red and Blue. That tackle by Brown. Watching ANB suck air in the last and realising how hard they're working. Three last things: I think we're in transition and I've finally accepted it. Still rueing last year as the one that got away, I'm not sure you ever lose that feeling. This competition is going to be scary even next year.

Loading up is the shorest way for us to end up cellar dwellars for years to come. I say keep drafting top end talent and go after a 25-26 year old key forward or outside mid. (very hard to land I realise) Personally I think we can have our cake and eat it as well. Sydney and Geelong have shown the best model. With Tassie coming in and next year looking even more even we have to be patient and clever. Let us supporters run around arms flailing while internally cooler heads prevail. Here's hoping.

No, wrong age profile. He'll go to Carlton if anywhere would be my guess.

I find myself unable to stop rueing the Petty, Melksham and Brayshaw injuries at the end of last year. I reckon we'd be holding a second Cup and sitting comfortably inside the top 4 right now had those 3 never got injured. Instead the Pies are holding another Cup, Brayshaw has retired, Petty is a shadow and Melksham hasn't fired a shot. So tonight I sit and watch a game against and up and coming young team and can't decide whether i care more about 2024 or about the draft for 2025. Then there's the salt being ground into my wounds by watching Grundy and JJ ripping it up for the top team who can't buy an injury and are flying, Dane Swan's in the HOF and Carlton and Essendon are both above us. Sheesh that's some depressing football mood right there.

Christian Petraccaโs 2024 Season Ending Injuries
Its been the latest "fake" rumour. I've got a mate who hears them all and even he, as a Pies supporter, laughed at this one.

Apparently he's a little miffed with our form but believes that if we can hold on tonight, snatch a win next week and then roll WC at the G we'll be right back in it at 10 - 6. He'll then return, Trac will be back for the GF and we'll finally win that second flag. He's an upbeat and confident fella. You better check with WCW ito see if any of this is even remotely true.
