  1. I think Oliver can take a look at Neals brownlow speech, when he said the coaches wanted him to brake away from the stoppage with ball in hand then kick or handball get more yardage and free up team mates or have a shot for goal Oliver is absolutely key to our premiership chance, as G.Lyon said probably already the best Demons midfielder ever, and he is still learning
  2. Excellent post exactly my thoughts on Jackson, we won't be so predictable always going to max out of defense and once at the wing still have tall targets inside 50 to kick to. Could be a real weapon for us having Jackson, Brown Weed, and Maxy as marking targets all over the ground
  3. I may have missed the news but have Brown or Smith said they coming to Dees??
  4. Trends come and go, this speed and pressure game steams from Richmond's success, now it's up to Goody and all other coaches to come up with a new style to beat it. They still use a big power forward as a reference point going into attack.
  5. Agree my short list would be.. Voss Hodge R Harvey And try get N Balm back as head of football, probably the most important position we need experience
  6. Absolutely, midfield coach has a the best ruckman and a gun young midfield to work with has to get them gelling better, I was shocked to find out we are no good in clearances
  7. I don't think Viney has much peripheral vision he is just 'see ball get ball' hard as nails, but I think the others probably get a bit upset cos they see the game better... that's how I read it. Hopefully they get a few set plays or learn to work with each other so they all can shine in the middle
  8. The coach must demand every forward does his bit defensively, hope they can
  9. Problem is that forward line is to tall and no pressure, id give Jackson say 30% forward 50% On ball and 20 % ruck see how he goes, use Kossi and spargo and maybe Viney roatating with him.
  10. On the money by Garry, but I would still give a early second rounder if that is the difference to picking us. Sometimes you have to pay a little more to get what you need.
  11. What did he actually do, while at the Dees that made them happy to see the back of him?
  12. If we want finals now we take Brown. Weed is slowly getting there, Jackson just starting out. They worked well in games against lowly opposition we need to see the Weed take a bigger step next year.
  13. Just putting it out there he's a special talent, was regarded as the next Jonathon Brown, at least have the conversation. Fwiw I would only do it if I had the complete backing of the playing list first. Agreed
  14. Definite keeper, on a 1 or 2 year deal, not ganna break the cap, and still improving.
  15. 2 years + 1 as a assistant couch
  16. The fact he is 25 and should be in his prime..... I'd give him a 3 year deal that has clauses keeping him on the right track on and off field, providing he is over his major injuries and ready mentally. It could be beneficial for him to be around familiar faces. I don't know or believe he was the cuase of culture disruptions at the club, We all know he delt with alot off field that would have derail anyone.
  17. I think Freo would have tried to help him out and still might, they have invested alot to get him. Although I'd love him back at his best we make top 4 next year, maybe he has bad influences back in WA?
  18. They can fight it out for midfield spots and challenge each other to get better
  19. Pisssss off Carlton you [censored], we want, Cripps and your first rounder
  20. I agree Smith should have 2 good playing years and maybe the 3rd can be playing/assistant role, similar to Jones. Phillips should be the main target and I'd still go after Brown
  21. The thing I've noticed about the brownlow over the years, if you had a good year previous, the umpires already know to look for you, ie. Clarry at Maxy getting plenty votes . I expect Tracc to poll even better next year, same goes with the AA
  22. Just seen Clarry in a sling at the brownlow?? Anyone got any info please
  23. Time we talk him up as a player we don't want to loose and make the pies pay up.... (he has been a excellent servant but his best is behind him). Would welcome him back into a mentoring roll anyway
  24. Id also be adding we will be Hoping Brown will get back to his best, and Weed should only be entering his prime now.... I'd take Brown for a second rounder, but wouldn't move on the Weed just yet. A forward line of Brown, Weed, Fritsch, Melky, Kossi, and spargo or a resting mid would be the way to go with Jackson given time to develop and coming in for anyone not in form.
  25. Imagine if the penny drops for Gus, Oliver, Harmes, and they train as hard as Trac... I expect they all see that as the minimum level to get to now and challenge each other.
