  1. I think it's the emotional side rather than the logical side that is driving a lot of people to overvalue Frost and other players in the team.
  2. Everyone forgets Frawley too. He really 'improved' when he went there.
  3. I know what you mean. He must be total trash. He'll never play in Melbourne's best 22...
  4. Probably meant we offered more money to Frost. The rumours of Collingwood upping their offer to Elliot and Frost re-signing are too close together to not be a coincidence. I don't know for certain, but that's my gut feel.
  5. He's joking. Making fun of some peoples comments from a few weeks ago. They kept saying they had on good authority that he gave the club an ultimatum after a meeting between him, his management, and the FD. As far as I'm aware, from the meeting, both parties came out with a mutual understanding of what they want for next season.

Wouldn't mind him, but he's on a large wage. Unless Adelaide paid more than 50% of his wage, I wouldn't go anywhere near it.
  7. That, along side the Goodwin sacked, announcement on Sunday, only for the club to announce the signing of Richardson on Friday, have made for a good laugh. (Also the reason I finally decided to make an account after years of visiting the site occasionally).
  8. I've been hearing it too. But haven't heard from anyone credible yet. If we're not getting Elliot, I imagine that's the only reason we hadn't signed him until now.

Yep, could you imagine Elliot's manager in a meeting with Goodwin? "Yeah, so you said that you were interested in him, as well as many others in your radio interview. Due to the rumours going around about Hawthorn, and your comment on SEN, I'm going have to up his asking price by a few hundred thousand. Sorry, it wouldn't have been this way if you hadn't mentioned the interest on radio."
  10. Most natural sources are allowed, the artificially extraction of molecules in high doses is what is banned. The tea may not be banned because the dosage of those molecules is not high enough during testing.
  11. Having a look at the tea, the molecules that cause the above effects are in low doses. If one of the molecules were to be extracted from the plant in a high dosage and then taken, then yes, it would be considered PE. It's the same with other tea regarding caffeine, which I've stated above. When a natural element is taken out of its source and artificially taken, is the main problem. Most PEDs come from natural sources such as Chamomile Tea.
  12. I merely tried to explain why it was tested for. If the only way of having it was through a puff or two, I would imagine it would be a detriment as you can't control the dosage. But in some countries, this extract is used medically for pain, anxiety, ect. Which is why it is tested. And tea, of any variant, only has Caffeine in it, which isn't considered PE unless in extremely high doses, but go right ahead and assume that people only use weed to get high.
  13. I can understand why some a questioning how canibis, weed, etc can be a PED on game day, and I'll attempt to explain why. ASADA, WADA, etc are not after the guys that smoke weed, they're after those that are using a liquid extract from it that can calm nerves, but also reduce pain and increase pain threshold. This small liquid dose doesn't give you the mind numbing effects, but because it is from the same plant, when they test for it, it comes back positive even if you've smoked it, and thus you are penalised regardless. I hope this helps explain it.
  14. Game day testing comes under the ASADA code, and canibus is prohibited under ASADA code only on game day, which is why it was released. It may not seem like it, but a small dose can help with calming nerves while still maintaining brain function. Had he been found positive under the AFL illicit drugs policy, the AFL would have brushed it under the carpet like they do with most cases. Nothing to see here!
  15. Arguably, he may not have known about the investigation into him substituting the sample. Most likely, the official would have noted it down and the test would then have been conducted to confirm if it was urine. There would have been no notification to Rioli by the on site official that this was been noted as it may have hampered the investigation. I know some have said he provided a second sample, but I don't know how true that is.
  16. Well... This narrative just changed. I'm sure the West Coast PR Spin Department are going into overload at the moment trying to figure out how to fix this.
  17. While I agree that it's highly unlikely, he runs the risk of being drafted by Gold Coast if he did that. If it did happen, I would hope we warn GC to butt out after they received Pick 2 PP. If they then did take him, I would hope Melbourne would then go hard for someone to spite them in the next trade period.
  18. Yep, appears most are looking at Frost as a back up option if their first choice defender falls through during the trade period. I think Frost's selling himself around (as per a rumour he was up in Sydney recently), but there are very few buyers atm and he's learning that he's not worth what he thinks he's worth.
  19. Yep, the age old release important information/news when everyone is distracted by something else so there's little to no backlash.
  20. Tomlinson played a total of 80 out of 81 games before finals. Not sure someone could have slipped into the side if they've been there for all of 3 seasons...

If, by some miracle, Gold Coast don't get Pick 2 PP, than I'm dead set of the opinion that we keep it. Anderson is a player we need. And while I was more inclined to trade our pick earlier, with GWS now into the Grand Final, unless they can offer us Pick 12 and Hawks First Pick via Trade, I'm less inclined to Trade Pick 3 now.

Cast your net wide enough and you're bound to catch something. So long as he says Collingwood or Melbourne are likely, but Hawks are "Showing Interest" (ie. asked once about him), and then Elliot stays or goes to one of the clubs mentioned, he can say; "See, I reported it!"

It's been reported on AFL.com.au that they want to get a pick before Adelaide's pick so they can get 2 top 10 draft picks in. GWS expect Adelaide to bid on Green, so they are looking at trading for Our pick to get say Young and Green instead of going into a huge deficit and only have 1 pick inside the first 50 picks.
  24. Plus from my understanding, he enjoys training with Maxy. I think our press release around him last year was a bit of a faux pas in that we've actually got him to not only be a back up if Maxy goes down but to also eventually take over in a couple of years when Maxy's output may decline and Preuss is in his prime.
  25. The best players in the league have all 4 attributes; Skill, Talent, Work Ethic, and Commitment. While they can be trained in all the attributes, it is easier to improve someones work ethic and commitment than their skill and talent. Which is why I value the later rather than the former at draft time. If a kid has a well balance of all, then they will go higher in the draft.
