I wouldn't mind heading to Adeliade for the weekend except the prices for everything will be through the roof And in terms of location wouldn't it be better to select a host city in a state you're trying to grow the game. Or Sydney or Brisbane to stick it to the NRL. I suppose the main reason Adelaide was chosen is because they offered the most money to host

I reckon its great having footy to watch this time of year and good footy at that (Geelong North game aside. That was terrible) The crowds will go, the interest is there. In year one the attendances were high but have tapered off since. The new teams are getting higher crowds than the average as well I think the expansion has happened too quickly and diluted the overall quality. There are some very poor teams in the comp and the difference between top and bottom is a chasm. Maybe the trade off / thinking was getting as many teams up and running which would influence the overall population of girls / women playing the game. Not sure, but I reckon a smaller 10 team comp would draw bigger crowds as the standard would be higher. And yes, the AFL doesn't have a coherent plan. How can you not know where the final is going to be in a few weeks' time.

What about the rest of the coaching team? Yze is the next AFL senior coach in waiting. Wasn’t he effectively game day coach. Surely he bears some responsibility as well.

I wouldn’t swap Purcell or hanks for any other player on that list other than Conti. She’s a gun together with bannan and gilliard (I reckon she’ll be a great player) we have some real elite young talent. Even though we’ll lose paxy and daisy soon enough I think the side is well future proofed

The game was never a chance of getting the go ahead at the Gabba. You can’t have a football game on a pitch that will be hosting first class and test cricket. Brisbane can use the Richmond decision as a basis to play the game at a small qld ground. Afl can’t say no. amateur hour at afl HQ

The women are more daring than the men for sure. I love the boys, not having a pop, just stating a fact. Doesn't always come off for the women but bloody good to watch

Bannan had a quite start to the season so i can understand her omission. If she can become more consistent, she'll be one of the most valuable players in the league

Perhaps we should have rotated more but I don't think it would have made a difference come finals time. Our best players were carrying niggles and out of form unfortunately. Trac was hobbling, Maxy banged up, Lever's ankle not right etc. etc. You can't cover for those players

Very strange decision by the ALFW to schedule the Richmond North game at a low-capacity venue and in a timeslot that clashes with the matildas. Way to grow the game

I’m neither pro nor anti loading theory (i think you're referring to loading). All I know is we were flying going into finals last year compared to flat as a tack this year. Something went wrong. Injuries a factor for sure, tough back half fixtures etc. My guess is we trained heavy mid-season similar to 2021 when in hindsight we should have kept it lighter. No evidence for this only the eye test
