MFC Annual General Meeting tonight 20/2/2023 at 6:30pm
We played the Lions at the G in early April last year. Remember 2 AFLW seasons were played in calendar year 2022

2023 AFLW Trade Period
There was a big gap between the top teams and the rest. Ourselves and the lions finished on a percentage of about 290 I think. I guess the AFL figure this is a good way to even things up but I’ll be raging if we lose good players. And it will be salt in the wounds if hawthorn and Essendon are the beneficiaries.

2023 AFLW Trade Period
We have a very strong culture and are smack bang in the middle of our window. I can't see us losing any player to expansion. I reckon the teams that finished 3-8 are most at risk of having their players poached.

Jack Ginnivan admits drug use
Education and honesty in policy and approach the way to go I reckon. drugs can be great fun but as with alcohol you pay a price. Most people can dabble and not form addiction but others can’t (same as gambling and alcohol). Educate people so they understand the risks and can make an informed decision. And have the supports in place if things get out of hand. I view getting caught with a spliff or popping a party pill as no different than overdoing it on the drink and making a fool of yourself. It happens. Let’s not demonise. Kids will be kids. I have a pretty strong libertarian slate but I don’t believe drug use should be legalised other than marijuana (relatively speaking the least dangerous drug, less dangerous than booze in my opinion). It has too much impact on families and communities. The greater good is to keep illegal. Focus police effort on the high level overlords who organise and control rather than low level pushers and users. as for the argument legalisation reduces crime im afraid it doesn’t hold. Yes crims can’t profit from drug pushing but criminals going to criminal. They just figure out new ways to commit crime. And taxing the product just creates a black market (this has been the experience in the US)

Jack Ginnivan admits drug use
He's not the first young lad to dabble in drugs and won't be the last. If he has the right people around him, they'll knock some sense into him. and while I hope the young man learns and moves on, I would be delighted if this derails Collingwood's season preparation.

Paul Hasleby's 2023 Top 4 Prediction
It'll be interesting to see how the Swans recover from their GF drubbing. History suggests they might struggle this year.

Paul Hasleby's 2023 Top 4 Prediction
I don't think we got ahead of ourselves last year, it was more injuries / fatigue caught up with us. But otherwise, I agree with his comments.

- Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
I guess Richo has to say he's confident he'll sign. What else would he say at this point?- Who will debut in 2023?
JVR for sure. and Howes most likely I worry for Laurie. Hasn't really shown any standout qualities yet.- NFL
Great game. Mahomes is a rare talent.- NFL
I wish I was a betting man.- Steven May Re-Signs Until the End of 2025
my bad- NFL
Eagles the best team but chiefs have the best QB. Very close one to call. Reckon a late field goal could decide it.- TRAINING: Friday 10th February 2023
Love it. You have found your true calling in life @picket fence- Steven May Re-Signs Until the End of 2025
Had a very shaky first year with us but since then has been outstanding. Has 1 AA jacket and unlucky not to have a second. Hopefully he has learned from his entrecôte misadventure and swears off the grog. If he does then no reason why he won’t be a key plank in our defence for the duration of this contract.- Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
And he should have won goal of the year in 2021 for his phenomenal goal against st Kilda. Absolute ripper- Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
Pick swapped to move up the order to nab him. Boss move from JT.- Training Ground?
Richo stated recently that the players don't mind travelling to Casey. It's difficult for supporters to get there though so i agree on that. No public transport makes it doubly difficult. And I'm not sure our facilities are of lower standard than other clubs. The problem is we have no site. We have no site because we are wedded to the MGC precinct. Very difficult to secure a spot there. I reckon we should look elsewhere. Once the site is identified and agreed i believe the funding will follow- Training Ground?
The days of social clubs are long gone. Nowadays people engage with the club online be it insta, facebook, demonland etc. and of course on gameday. I want a training base for this club because the only way to have whole of club connection is if everyone is under the one roof. I don't like having the AFL, AFLW and admin teams separated. Nothing wrong with Casey as a facility. The oval is immaculate and from what little i've seen of the gym area it looks pretty good and fit for purpose. Pity about the windy conditions though. There's a weird microclimate out there. always gusting. Haven't been to Goosh's this year but i understand its fit for purpose as well.
