  1. the number of times a player touches the ball is irrelevant, he played his role perfectly, and for that he is no chance of being dropped. If players stats were what the ins and outs were based on, Watts and Miller would have been dropped weeks ago
  2. Dunn no impact in the QB game??? Not only was he our most likely to kick goals, but he also stopped their most damaging running defender in Shaw. You might need another look at our last game BBP
  3. any chance of linking them on here?
  4. meeson??? surely he can not be kept on the list after this season
  5. i thought we only had one jack grimes? when did the cloning process happen?
  6. include Blease, Tapscott and Strauss to that list then it becomes bloody exciting times
  7. i wouldn't have thought so, they are replacing him with a similar type player
  8. i think there is a major reason why the defense and midfield are progressing quicker than the forward line. Sean Wellman - an excellent defender in his day...backline coach Scott West - an excellent midfielder in his day...midfield coach Josh Mahoney - a handy high forward come midfielder...forward line coach Now im not saying that only excellent players make excellent coaches, or Mahoney bashing, but i think it would be easier to coach the line that you were a very good player in. I think Mahoney might be just out of his depth with the forward line right now, and maybe when he has the full selection of forwards to choose from things might change for him, but right now he needs a forward specialist coach helping him. Just my views on this topic
  9. what are you saying, that Morton is not a good fit for this team? That Morton should be put up for trade bait? That Morton needs to go back the Casey? That Morton needs another pre season under his belt to recover from his injury? Im not sure of the purpose of your post?
  10. i personally don't think he will leave the NRL. I think the NRL will help the storm do whatever they have to, to keep one the stars in the comp. Just my thoughts though
  11. i was not aware of that, that pretty much rules him out, especially after what we got for McLean
  12. i think we try and grab Shaun Hampson from the blues, just rotate him and Jamar between the ruck and forward line similar to what the bombers do with Ryder and hille
  13. could not agree more, but i have heard Jack himself say on radio or tv that he does need another pre season under him (gym and running) until he is ready to play a consistant 120 minutes
  14. we will beat them!! this will be one of the most fired up demons teams in a loooong time
  15. spot on. The AFL and Rugby Union will be big beneficiaries from the NRL demise, it has already started
  16. i would argue strongly that Cheney showed enough last year to warrant putting more time and games into him, but fair enough with Strauss and i did say eventually for Blease
  17. you just answered your own question. by releasing Jack you have to bring in one of Cheney or Strauss, eventually even Blease, and they will provide the run needed
  18. If this year is still a "development year" then start playing the players that need developing and in the positions they need to develop into. Grimes will be a midfielder maybe next year or the year after, play him there. Strauss will move into Grimes' position when he moves to the midfield, play him there and let him develop. If it forces out a Bruce, MacDonald or even Rivers so be it, they will not be part of the premiership team in 3 years time
  19. he can definately get nominated, but can not win the award, another tiger who might be nominated this week is Ben Nason
  20. there is all of a sudden a lot of pressure on midfielders to keep their spot in the team now, glad im not on match committee this week trying to fit scully and trengove back in, oh and don't forget mckenzie
  21. time to quickly move our attention to the blues next week
  22. thats the idea of these forums, to vent and release the building tensions. You don't have to agree with all posts on here
  23. Its time to release Jack Grimes to the midfield. He is not a natural backman. He is not accountable enough, strong enough in one on ones, is always too slow to move the ball from defence, whether it be from kick ins or in general play, and like Davey is far more damaging forward of the centre. Last year when he was released he dominated games and racked up high possessions to the point where he had to be "rested" so we didn't ruin our draft prospects. I think he would be the cream on the midfield
