  1. Looking forward to this thread next week if Jeffo kicks a bag for Casey but BBB is selected for a swansong against the Pies.
  2. A couple of Dees players are attending a footy clinic at 10.30am Sunday in Melbourne, so I'm assuming they're coming back on Sat afternoon.
  3. Just think, he could have had it fixed properly at the time rather than endure 5 months of battering, and he'd have probably been back on the park months ago.
  4. Gus's retirement announcement made me worried after the off-season from hell we'd just dealt with. Going down to the tigers in the preseason family day game was perturbing. When we completely stopped in the last quarter in opening round against the Swans, I had a sinking feeling, but was prepared to put that down to the humid conditions. When Brisbane completely outplayed us I should have known. But the nails in the coffin were the WCE loss and the 90-point Freo spanking. It was clear then that our new game plan had fallen apart. That was when I really noticed handballs going to empty space and frustrated players yelling at each other for not being where they should have been. The transition from a happy camp where players were smiling and celebrating small acts like desperate spoils as a unified team to what we've seen in the 2nd half of this season has been depressing.
  5. It turns out having a child several hundred kilometres from family support can be difficult - and for new parents, in ways that simply cannot be understood beforehand. And WTF is wrong with Adelaide?
  6. Glad I'm not the only one doomscrolling d'land at 1.10am!
  7. It's delicious!
  8. Might drop in to Bomberblitz for some catharsis.
  9. Yesssss!!!!!! Great mark and match winning goal by Mac Andrew!
  10. x2
  11. Can we get someone to make up a dees guernsey with Houston's name and number on the back and dangle it over their players as they run out? It [censored] me to tears when that Freo flòg did that to us re. Jackson in '22.
  12. The Demonland interview with May earlier this year (or was it last year?) was telling - May didn't sound at all confident of going beyond his current contract - noting preseasons getting more difficult, age catching up, etc.
  13. What's more, at least one poster on this site argued after we'd won the first 5 or so games on the trot in 2021 (!!!) that that would be an opportune time for us to sack Goodwin. [censored].
  14. Don't out yourself as someone who reads that drivel!
  15. What a f'n legend!
  16. Yeah, surely there's no way on form from last weekend's VFL game one could argue for Hunter's elevation over others like Sparrow, or even Howes.
  17. Ok... so the club says no, the player says no, the contract is so large and long that all potential suitors are ruled out, so those two geese waste oxygen circling around to the conclusion that he won't be traded? I guess they can kiss goodbye to their Pulitzer Prize?
  18. I think we need to call it out for what it is - he's squatting in hospital dumpsters. And this takes on a double meaning after his morning coffee.
  19. If only this post could be pinned. How many times do these delusional narratives need to be corrected?
  20. He looked super sore after landing hard on his back last night. Reached around to where he was kneed earlier in the season too, briefly.
  21. Like players care - they're the ones telling the docs to [censored] off while staggering about seeing triple.
  22. 94% of teams don't win the flag every year. In any year there's roughly 4 teams with a good shot at winning it, with form, fitness, health, game plan, luck all factors. Winning a flag is definitionally a successful traversal of a premiership window. I wouldn't put the house on that book being a best seller.
  23. You mean our Premiership winning key forward?
