NON-MFC: Round 17
AFL HQ has just [censored] their collective pantaloons.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
I randomly had some footage of Dunstall and Lockett representing Victoria come up in my feed, and it reminded me of the dead-straight, efficient and uncomplicated set shot kicking routines those players had. None of this wierd ball spinning, ball jiggling, leg hopping, stuttering run ups many modern players display.

NON-MFC: Round 17
Yeah well I prefer the Steven May and Premiership that we turned him into.

Use of the sub
Sadly for JJ he was the 23rd man selected that day. Yes, a medical sub could have been made taking May off, but did May, as one of the best 22 selected that day, deserve to be benched and tracksuited, to be robbed of the chance to be on the ground when the final siren went?

Dudded by the AFL
A pretty ridiculous claim that we "missed out" on Harley Reid due to not being able to trade 2 years of future picks. West Coast weren't budging for what we were reportedly offering, and why would they - Reid is a prodigious talent - as if us also throwing in a pick they couldn't use for 2 years would make a difference. This has all the hallmarks of a writer having a not particularly compelling half an article with the Mac Andrew angle, and padding it out with click-attracting horse**** to fill the column inches quota.

The Kalani White Thread
As in he mightn't make it or will choose Gold Coast?

So how pathetic is the AFL: Dangerfield.
While I'd concur with both your points here (though Kynan Brown showed that it is possible to do more to avoid a player pitching forward in a not dissimilar tackle), the compelling element for me was that Dangerfield locked both of the player's arms, so he couldn't protect himself from that forward momentum towards the ground.

Christian Petracca’s 2024 Season Ending Injuries
Careful here - 50/50 implies the same probability for both outcomes, which is not necessarily the case despite there being two possibilities. Jakovich will or will not come out of retirement and spearhead our forward line next year - 2 possibilities, not equally probable.

CASEY: Rd 14 vs Northern Bullants
What a great choice of .gif. Well done. 🤣

Goals per quarter
Yes that's a really good point - it was more achievable the way the game was played a few years back.
-
Goals per quarter
Equally, it is depressing to see how often we've blown past the target we once had (Steven May revealed in a post-match interview back in 2021 or 22) for opposition score of 60 or less (15 pts per qtr). Achieved only twice this year (against Hawks and Tigers).

PREGAME: Rd 16 vs Brisbane
Just seen a post from the club highlighting Andy Moniz-Wakefield's numbers on the weekend for casey. These posts often precede a debut in the seniors. It'd be interesting to see what he can do in the ones - Brisbane up there is a bit of a baptism by fire, but if the practice of debuting players as sub is the way of things that could be an option.
