Training Ground?
Don't want to open the can of worms about it again, but I wouldn't expect to see any kind of 'social club' like you're hinting at there. It's just not a sustainable business idea for our football club, and probably most of them really. I could see us aligning ourselves with a local venue a bit more properly once we've settled somewhere though. Much better to tie in with an existing hospitality business with group buying power, marketing, admin etc. than to try and run one ourselves where the customer demographic is very very small and you'd only expect reasonable trade 1 day a week for 6 months of the year.

Yep, and the 'leaked' plan involving Yarra Park didn't exactly do us any favours at the time.

The stated preference is to have admin and football departments in the one building. Ticks that off. I'm not necessarily advocating for it as a concept or think it will happen, but it covers off the above along with being in the MCG precinct and lets us make the most of redeveloping Gosch's too.

Dees for Punt Rd
Gosch's is literally across the road. Use Punt Rd for admin, MFC shop, fitness and rehab, skills, community events - then cross the road for match sim etc.

Tom McDonald 200th game this week?
- Training Ground?
Can't see us going there personally. IMO we'll either have a bit of a 'good as it gets' option near the G or we'll have something state of the art out at Casey. Neither is what I'd have top of my wishlist, but I'm resigned to either one of those realistically.- Training Ground?
Hawks are spending a bit over $100m on their Dingley one apparently, and that's meant to be pretty amazing, so don't reckon we'd need anywhere near $500m.- Training Ground?
Huh? Are we building it on the moon?- Extended contract for Simon Goodwin?

Went past Gosch's today, looks fantastic! (Progress considered). Grass looks to be all in, sprinklers were on (good sign surely?), and I don't really remember the plans but looks to be a neat space down the southern end that could be used for (very very small) facilities, could always just be a site office area though. Wonder if they're putting in toilets or a playground or the like? Don't remember the plans tbh. Anyways, it looks in great nick and coming along beautifully.- Extended contract for Simon Goodwin?
- POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Agree on the level on blame on Frost, disagree he'd still be with us. His style of play ('Frostball') was exactly what the club set about changing post-2019 when we were the highest team for points given up from back half turnovers. I still love the bloke tbh, amazing athlete and comes across as a really earnest footballer, but his decision making meant his papers were stamped once it became a big focus for Goody.- Goodwin, Jackson, Pickett, Sparrow, Petty & Neal-Bullen All Out with COVID

- Is Yze under appreciated?
I'd put money on Yze being a fantastic head coach (and possibly soon). He's been a massive influence on the relationships in the club between coaches and players, and was asked very early in his tenure to help improve a few relationships. Don't think for one second that just because he's publicly known as a tactician that any of his other skills aren't as equally amazing.- Goodwin, Jackson, Pickett, Sparrow, Petty & Neal-Bullen All Out with COVID

Are you saying that's the AFL's protocols? I'm not sure that would be correct. Every player is tested regularly as far as I'm aware, no matter where they may sit in that 12 week period. You're on the money for general public, but as we've seen this year, the AFL's protocols aren't always the same.- CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Viney likely to not play again this week. Just a rumour that was passed on second hand. - Training Ground?
