Cal Twomey tweeting three way trade for 8 between Freo, Adelaide and us: Another trade in the works. Freo poised to move up to pick 8 in a three-way deal with Melbourne and Adelaide.

Us taking Kemp makes a lot of sense when we consider Jason Taylor’s efforts to trade up the order to secure Oliver. We wouldn’t trade into the position we did to get just anyone, we’ve positioned ourselves for a big win and some X factor. lock it in.

Martin has attributes of both Stretch and JKH. I wonder if discussions over the weekend prompted these decisions? Opens up two more spots in the list meaning we’re taking someone via means other than the national draft.
-
Stretch and JKH delisted.

I don’t get it. Admittedly I have only watched highlights but judging Serong’s highlights against Young, Serong looks a long way off. Reminds me of Trengove. Super hyped pre-draft then appears slow, undersized and one dimensional. Happy to be proven wrong. Young on the other hand has dash, a burst of speed and he is a goal kicking midfielder.

Interesting that Lewis Taylor has not presented as an option. Due to some apparently connected cats on Demonland we were keen on him when he was originally drafted. He’s stuck behind a plethora of smart forwards at Brisbane And appears to be on the trade table. thoughts?

As one of the best small forwards in the game we need to be in the hunt. Our delivery into the forward 50 this year was terrible. We need a player who can capitalise on spilt balls in the forward 50. Whether it’s Papley, Taylor or Butler I dunno. Hannan will be better injury free, Spargo too panicked, Dunkley/ Lochart still developing.

Gunston?

Sorry if it’s already been mentioned but would anyone consider Bruce from the Saints?

List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.

Sweet mother of Christ. If you’re treating text messages from Freo mates as legitimate intel worth posting you’re contribution to this Board is even more negligible than I ever thought it could be. -
What a terrible string of cliches. We essentially paid the equivalent of pick 4 for a lynchpin of our backline for the next decade. Do some research, actually wait and watch he brings to the team before you slander player and club. Grow some yourself you keyboard warrior.
-
Hilarious! You Brighton bozo's are the biggest clique in Melbourne. Jones too honest for you ol' boy? Beelzebub and Watts - 'til trade do us part! (And even then not really).

This completely contradicts comments I heard him make on Trade Radio last week in which he stated that he thought Melbourne couldn't have handled what is an unfortunate situation any better. Mentioned both coach and Josh positively.
-
You never made the dinstinction and the distinction is irrelevant. Planned trades and unexpected trades all bare the same result.

Yeah ... just like Lewis last year ...

This thread has me reminiscing about the Travis Johnstone thread all those years ago. 'He's our best kick, the most talented player on our list' they said. 'He's popular amongst our group, it'll destroy the fabric of the club' they said. 'He'll carve it up at his new club. We'll regret ever trading him' they said. 'This is a rookie coach looking to make a statement unaware he's making a huge mistake' they said. Who knows I might even have been one of 'them'. We all think we know what's best for club and player but the ones closest to the decision having to be made are the ones we are forced to trust, they too are the ones that will live with the decision and its consequences. I support the direction the club is taking. We've been crying out for someone to take the club by the scruff of the neck and give it a shake. We've asked much of Watts since being drafted and he still falls short of what we know he is capable of. Does that remind you of any other former number one draft picks?
-
Noticed you've suggested the same elsewhere. Opinion or knowledge fuelling your comments?

Oh. My. God. So much hysteria over one of the most inconsistent, frustrating bruise free players on our list. Way too much emotion, not enough clear headed, long term, big picture thinking. It's a cliche but I honestly think this trade, should it eventuate, will benefit both player and club. Jack will be a better player at another club, free from the cloud that has hung over him since day one. Go forth my boy and be a free man. For the club, this will be a statement of intent and help shape a new dynamic amongst the players we want to give it their all. For me Watts often sets the tone of the group. He swans into preseason out of shape, he steps onto the ground half cocked and will consciously choose not to put his head over the ball. This attitude, and we've all seen it affects the group. If our co-captain ain't happy then neither am I. Those who want to clasp to the same hope that we've had for this bloke to finally show us some ticker for another year beyond the nine his already had, good luck to you. But for me it's time to show some mongrel.

Correct, there are no emergencies named for JLT matches, but you think we don't name players on an extended interchange bench (as Trengove was) so as to use him as an emergency?

Pointing the 'stupid' finger at everyone but yourself as usual. He travelled as an emergency and if things go well he will not play much this year... can it get any simpler?
