Assuming that the umpires are local, It is that response from the crowd that will linger on in their minds and subconsciously alter their feelings on personal safety / welfare. This no doubt will carry forward onto the next game and hence the bias will continue... I think you can no longer accept a local umpire to rule over the games in WA or SA. Fly up an alternative states umpire (SA is probably the most cost effective) to officiate the games.

Yeah im not sure i agree with you 100%. I thought that our mids were quite poor in the 1st half and 4th quarter. We really lacked the defensive presence that Viney would have bought. The WC midfield is honestly 2nd tier and yet were made to look 1st rate with their clearances and contested work. Harmes is a little too offensive minded and doesnt play his role (assuming it is [censored]-for-tat with Viney). One thing i will say was Nic Nat is something else, he can be the #1 ruck in the competition when he wants to be. But is far too unfit, lazy and unwilling to do the hard yards. If Gawn had his athleticism boy oh boy.

My read was that the umpires call for the mark was late so it was his instinct was to play on. Who in there right mind 30m in front would play on. The umpire should have allowed Spargs to come back given his late call for the mark.

Spot on. The time was just too long for the keepings off mode hence why they came back. If Fritta, Trac x 2, LJ kicked those goals if the umpire didn’t call Spargs to play on If the umpire didn’t pay that free against May If the umpire split the frees 50/50 in the last The game would have been wrapped up much more quickly.

i noticed his face looked a bit discoloured during the game...i didnt put it down to that bump but this has to be the biggest [censored] up this year. I would not be surprised if people start calling for Christiansen's head here as there is no doubt in my mind that he is compromised - this is a minimum 1 week suspension everyday of the week. If he had been concussed it is then 3 weeks based on precedent. This is why Viney's was a stitch up as it was the action (not the outcome) that was penalized. They wanted him gone for more than 3 weeks i reckon so that he'd miss the Cats game(s).

Yep this too. We are good at this but not great. If there is one special project over preseason then this has to be it. We have to become ruthless here and have multiple plays especially against teams who would look to shark Gawn or LJ in the middle.

Don’t underestimate the heat that top of the ladder position brings. Yes the Dons were playing for finals but top team is extra incentive. I can just see us coughing it up tomorrow though. Dogs have some genuine injury concerns now worth Shache and Bruce. We need to plant Gawn down there when we play them next and have Kozzy and Spargs at his feet. It’s the key to beating them.

We have about 2-3 years left with Brown and TMac at best. Sam is not part of the solution. Need to do what we can to recruit a ready made KPP. Dracting a KPP is equally risky as keeping Weid so I’d only have it as a backup.

I’m pretty sure he’s probably embarrassed given the responses and hence trying to deflect. But if he’s trolling then why wouldn’t we have a zero tolerance policy and ban him as I have zero patience for that type of behaviour.

I get where you are coming from, he lacks too much common-sense, ethics and integrity, which would upset the mental balance of our team. if we could recruit him purely on the basis of his football talent, then I would actually take a look at it as I think he has a good understanding in how to play the CHF hit up role. Probably still in the top 5 in the comp. Set shot kicking is also pretty good.
