  1. We have lacked forward 50 defensive pressure so makes sense to get an army of small forwards. Trouble is our forward line is now so stacked with players it will be interesting to see who gets in the 22.
  2. So much potential this kid has, but it is wasted. Some have suggested he has been played out of position, others may suggest he has played his 'role' for the team. My 2 cents is he looks like he is not 100% committed to the cause - whether that is to be at the club or even playing football. 2021 will shape as a very important year for Brayshaw. He needs to find a way to reinvent himself. He may not get the high disposal count as others , but given his footy smarts and ability to make plays, he needs to impose himself more on the game. I think another failed season will see him considered as trade potential, while he still has some trade value.
  3. A lot of things will change in 2021 as so many things were compromised this year so it’s a hard call to make. 1. Pies - staring the obvious 2. West Coast- still struggle away from home 3. Saints - still yet to prove themselves and back up a good year in 2020 4. Cats are a sneaky chance to drop given their aging list.
  4. One can only hope on that result. Would be great to land Brown and get back a Round 1 pick.
  5. So in effect, Brown for Preuss. I think on the face of it that's a fantastic result.
  6. it does fit the narrative that some people on here are finding hard to swallow.
  7. Wasn’t for sale Titan. Just my humble opinion. St Kilda weren’t a destination club until they threw massive cash at players - same for Carlton. In the end I think it will burn them as they may not be able to keep their better players when contracts needs to be renewed.
  8. That’s what I thought it must be. It’s hard to compete with that unless you pay massive overs. Which given his injury is a bit of a risk.
  9. Because we are not a destination club. The inner sanctum of the footy community knows we are a basket case.
  10. Agreed. We need the bottom 6-8 players to improve. There is no doubt we have top end talent across the board. Jacko, Kozzie, Rivers, Lockhart, Tomlinson, Melksham, Brayshaw, Weid ... all have upside.. its time they cashed in. If these guys can all take it up a notch and our premium players remain at the level consistently, we will have a chance at being top 4.
  11. Still racking my brain as to why he doesn’t get a tag.
  12. Im sure someone on here can correct me if im wrong, but it is about time we got a steel 'gun' player (ala Tim Kelly) from the 2nd round. I agree with this. Give him one more year in Half Back to develop the reading and flow of the game. THen decide on whether he stays there or develops an engine to rotate on the wing / midfield.
  13. I see no problems with what he has said at all. In fact I applaud his honesty and his commitment to the team. The fact that he doesn’t want to leave and hold his coach out to dry says a lot about his character.
  14. Wouldn't jump up and down about this too much. This could be us next year if we don't make the 8.
  15. Seriously how the Lions can afford this guy is beyond me. The Lions are already paying Neale, Andrews, Zorko, McCluggage, Lyons, Cameron close to 500K or more.
  16. Im wondering the exact same thing. When Kelly goes on the market next year, dont surprised with a Blues 5 year 1M dollar offer.
  17. Great news. Surely though Jack should have signed first and lead from the front.
  18. We were in 2018. Problem back then (and still now) was consitancy in its application. But with the new game plan, that ferocious nature has all but disappeared.
  19. I do rate Smith, but i sense that Hawks will hold onto him.
  20. What does that make OMac? an non athlete with NFI? Im not saying Frost is to be considered for the Brownlow but as a 2nd or 3rd tall, fits our list profile so much better than anyone else.
  21. I do suppose having Tomlinson can be considered an upgrade, given his better use of the footy, but we loose out massively on agility and having Tomo play on the wing.
  22. I will maintain that letting Frost go, ahead of OMac was a massive oversight that i still cannot understand. Yes he was a turnover king, but so were half the team. The only reason we noticed him more is that half back turnovers whilst in transition usually result in scores against. He is a very good lockdown defender, with great closing speed and can play big and tall. Granted he has average to below average disposal efficiency but compared against Omac will beat him in almost every skill attribute.
  23. Why would we sign him on a one year deal unless it was at Burgo’s own request. Hopefully the AFL clarifies soft cap and list sizes soon so that we can prepare for the trade period. This uncertainty is not doing anyone any favours.
  24. I think it pretty much went out the door once 6-6-6 came in and Goodwin changed our frenetic - chaos style - game plan. As many have stated, its ball movement and spread that creates speed not the players.
  25. AFL should not give him a license. They are obligated to seek medical advice that would most certainly not allow him to play.
