Its mind games. he will play.
-
I disagree. He unlike TMac or BBB can take a strong contested pack mark so would actually work well with TMac as the roaming forward.
-
If there was ever a time to let our footy do the talking now is it. No more [censored] around with this and that. We are approaching the business end of the season and we need to put the foot down and work our butts off.
-
He would be a great acquisition but why would he leave the Lions other than wanting to come home? Brisbane are not far behind Melbourne in the chance to a premiership so the only way we get him is if we pay overs, which we all know is unlikely unless someone is squeezed out. But with our forward line debacle I’d be willing to consider a few that I wouldn’t have previously.

Geez Gerard is a bit of weasel. I never had him as someone to continue to back up over a story. Robbo at least acknowledged Max’s leadership.
-
Apparently May had a crack at J Smith and Melksham stuck up for him… media really clasping at straws now.
-
If we ever had a post of the year thread, i would nominate this hands down.
-
That was a viscous and completely disproportionate and disrespectful performance from the media. I could only conjur images of seagulls to chips on the beach. Really shameful and disappointing. And Tom Browne what an absolute [censored] for incessant questioning on details which are not helpful in anyway whatsoever other than slander and headline grabbing. Max did such a great job in responding and i can see he's blood is boiling. I am pretty confident that an immense response will be on display on Monday.

i have no doubt it will be released 24-48 hours before the game. We deserve it tbh, however i do hope which ever media platform that gets ahold of it considers the impact it will have on the Big Freeze and that whatever they do will detract away from such a positive/worth cause and pursuit. I'm not holding my breath.

That’s strangely good journalism from Ralphy - wonder how our old mate Morris would have run with this.
-
Do you know which platform?

2015 draft. Makes you wonder Also a benchmark to compare.

I agree, it’s stuff you’d bait a 10 year old with. Plus he said it was some banter so seems like a bit of an overreaction unless they were both blind drunk.

I think something like this will happen regardless of the result next week. Reality is we all thought the team were in 1st gear / 2nd gear for the start of the season and expected them to step it up when the challengers came. But, they've engaged the clutch and stalled the call.
-
WAtch him pull a hammy in Q1 against the Lions
-
I highly doubt he’ll be around next season . Unfortunately Still has a slim chance to turn things around in the VFL to earn some currency.
-
I’d like to see a free kick goal ladder. We seem to hardly get one going our way and at times multiple against. I find it absolutely bewildering the media doesn’t focus on these but yet chooses to focus on Givemeone and the Calls against the Pies in a non event. I was adamant that this time we’d finally get some acknowledgment Watch the Pies get a bucketload of frees this week for complaining to the umps.
-
I wouldn’t personally but it’s entertainment and people want to see a good game.
-
I was just going to write this and thought I’d get sniped. You brave ! But it’s true. Slow and predictable might be the proven way to go but it’s also frustrating and boring. It’s still more COVID and flu given the older demographic of our supporter base it actually does make sense.
-
Petty stays - he is the next May and stalwart of our defence for the decade to come. Gawn has to play 60% forward and let LJ play against the Pies 2nd fiddle.
-
Assumption or you have it on good authority. Not trying to be facetious because your confidence on the matter suggests the later and would give me a little calmness that i am in dire need of.

Every team we have played this season bar a handful are putting on incredible performances. Teams want to play well against the reigning premiers. Sydney's game was very impressive and probably one of their best performances for a number of years. I hate the old cliche that premierships aren't won in June, because last i checked, you still need to win games to make the finals. The talk of Melbourne easily running the table and all that jazz hopefully didnt get to the boys heads and that the whole 'philosophy of 'respect every team' is actually believed. It is expected that being premiers will warrant this level of opposition intensity and attention and that is why going back-to-back is never easy and is only done by truly great teams. The Melbourne of last year would have bounced back from the Freo loss (which tbh was probably more a matter of luck given Trac's illness and losing May). The boy's do look flat, which suggests mental/physical tiredness, illness throughout the club, or the 2022 MFC fashionable term 'loading'. We have also had a bigger struggle with injury this year, loosing Salem, Lever, Smith, TMac, Petty, Hibbo and then the COVID impact so continuity and connection isnt as good as it could be. Big game against the Pies - lose this with the Lions next could start to seed a bit of doubt throughout the team.

In : May, Hibbo, Bedford Out : Hunt, Sparrow, BBB Petty May Lever Bowey Tommo Salem Brayshaw Viney Langdon Trac Oliver Dogga Fritta, Gawn (FF) , Kozzy Bedford, M Brown, Spargs Bench: JJ, ANB, Hibbo, Harmes I think Tommo would match up well on Cox so stays in the side IMO. May can take on Miochek and Petty can take The 3rd tall if he’s fit to play . This will free up Lever to play the loose / interceptor. If Petty goes out, Hunt stays in. Bowey on Ginoven and Salem can play a higher HB with Hibbo coming in. Hunt comes out and Brayshaw moves to the wing . Forward line is anyones guess but Weid and BBB not up for it atm.
-
One of Bowey, Salem or Brayshaw would be well served in the HF I think. But they were all kicking terrible last night.

Newcombe has to be the favourite for the rising star. He is going to be a great player.
