And maybe this was all born out of the way he presumably dealt with Trac post injury and he has yet to move past this?

Sure, but what role do they have that would have a significant impact on the clubs performance and direction? I don’t think Trac is coming out and making all this noise for recruitment or the Performance team. If @Little Richard statements are true I’d have my house in someone from the coaching team.

Agree with you on all points. Using the media is very much a double edged sword. It definitely elicits a reaction internally given the public nature of it, but it is destructive and may in fact cause more damage that is intended or warranted. Having said that, there is a time and place for this type of 'feedback'. I don't profess to know the inner workings of the place, how much transparency there is, the culture etc etc. But if Christian is the mouthpiece of what the playing group is thinking whether it be about the current game plan, recruiting, FD, governance, training facilities or whatever it is AND they feel like they are not being heard or taken seriously, then this type of calculated publicity may in fact be warranted. But boy if that were really the situation at the club, we are in deep crapola.

It is a million percent game plan. I agree with you. Getting either of the King bros or Jesse or Curnow himself is not changing anything. We don’t have connection between midfielders so when we generate a turnover in any part of the ground we don’t know what to do. Look at Hawks, their ball movement looks so fluid and harmonious. But all it is is spread and working together to create space. Don’t even need elite kicks. when we get the ball, it’s all about structure and contest. Stoppage to stoppage. It’s sloppy boring and slow. It needs to change and that folks, will take time.

No way you go Trac after tonight. If he doesn’t categorically come out tomorrow and deny this with a public statement to set the record straight about this whole ordeal then he is not a captain candidate. He had so many opportunities on 360 etc but he just kept the door ajar.

One things that is irrefutable is our game style this year is shocking. So much so the unexplainable drop offs in games, lack of intensity, walk out front of stoppage style defensive [censored] actually is the playing group crying out, not believing in the game plan and method. This does make sense. By extension , it also does start to explain Oliver’s frustration , potentially Tracs frustration and god knows how many other players. Now none of this is proven but the talk of Viney, Trac , Oliver all in a matter of weeks is not all all made up - maybe it’s blown out of proportion- but I certainly think something stinks.

I don't want to labor the point re: injuries, but do want to call out some facts that people can overlook. When we lost to Brisbane at the G; WC in Perth or Freo by almost 100 points we were pretty much playing with our full list inc Gawn, Petracca and Salem. I also don't profess to completely understand the real reasons behind 2024 but am sure that injuries didnt have as a significant impact as many believe.

We have the 3rd least played games lost to injuries before this round. Think of Collingwood, Lions etc. They have twice as many games lost due to injury than us and are sitting above us. It is not the injuries.

I reckon LJ will be better than what he is right now but not as good as many have claimed in the past. I’m happy with the players we effectively got for him. The only downside to it was the time lag we will have in experiencing the benefit of the players we received.

I look at it and think the opposite. We really just the worst season to go off kilter. Our ‘22 and ‘23 form would have had us favourites I think. Lions the only real team to beat

Here’s a novel idea. Why don’t we use Pick 6/7 and target an 18 year old with the same foot skills? Play him off HB for the first couple of years and then move him into the midfield rotation.

Well obviously. But to call it out after a game on Saturday is a bit strange. Definitely need a review of the whole FD. We need a new method, game plan and a whole set of coaches who can work some magic. TBH this should have been done last year. 2024 was a wasted year. We achieved nothing but blooding a few young ones.

100%. If it’s genuinely his hand - send him to surgery. Finals is a busy now so pull the trigger on all surgeries pronto
