I don’t disagree with the response by the AFL, but why does it take an allegation made through the media to trigger it. Was it not offered to the AFL previously to trigger an investigation?

I hear you but if this was a trial for rape or paedophilia, you would need much more than witness statement to persecute the perpetrator. From what I read there doesn’t seem to be any factual evidence to support these allegations. It is circumstantial as I can find many holes in the information that has been presented and the way it has been presented. My frustration is probably misplaced - as i do hope the truth comes out and justice prevails. I have a mistrust in all things media as they are inherently conflicted in their duties these days to sell papers and I find it just way too coincidental that they decide to release this report on the eve of the GF.

Yes. The proof is as far as I know circumstantial. Don’t get me wrong - if they are guilty, then they deserve the full weight of what’s coming to them. But equally, if they are not or it is not undeniable in proof, then it is slander and has caused irreparable damage to arguably the best coach in AFL history.

It’s Horrific if true. But it’s slander if unable to be substantiated. You’d hope that the process went to extreme lengths to verify the facts because this will destroy the legacy of Clarkson and co.

What about Peter Goyder’s call out to Joel Selwoods in his finals appearances record right before awarding Cripps the Brownlow. This guy is head of the AFL board. Completely unprofessional and you wonder why we continue with the inequalities in football when you have nuggets like this calling the shots.

JVR needs to be given time to develop as the 3rd tall. Problem is Fritta plays that role. So either JVR has to take the defensive jobs ala Melksham style or we gamble on him as 2nd tall and not expect much for 2 years. I’m not sold on Petty as a forward. I think he is a future AA CHB.

Looks like GC is on a bit of a fire sale to free up salary cap space. I wonder who they will put on the market. Cannot see them letting go any of their core group…

I’d look at getting games into Turner. He is our future. Tommo is at the end so better to move him on I think - we have J Smith as depth.

I’m bored, away for work and there is nothing but the Queens funeral on the ****ty hotel TV. There a few things that keep coming to mind about things we can bank on for next year. Be creative, semi serious or whatever tickles your fancy. I’ll get the ball rolling: 1. We will get an even shorter break after the bye round. 2. Every double game we play will be against top 6 sides (inc the 2 outside the 8, which will have Collingwoodesque improvements in form, whilst Geelong will have an even easier draw. 3. One positive - we will finally win the free kick count against Footscray.

I think a shuffle of our small/half forwards is required. Chandler is one of our better defensive forwards but clearly doesn’t have the forward craft that Kozzy offers. Spargs is a better decision maker but doesn’t offer as much in defensive pressure, speed or direct score impact. ANB has endurance and leadership but not much else.

It’s actually a pickle because I have a major disdain for NSW but equivalently hate Geelong. Interesting to hear Guthrie say they are really confident for the GF. Swans will now use that much like Langdons comment against the Pies. I wonder if the media will run with this as much as it did for Langdon.

Chandler needs to be rewarded. I think he can challenge anyone of ANB, Spargo or Kozzy. Worst case, it keeps them honest but it’s pointless if they don’t get dropped for bad performances or even given a spell.

And it’s going to really make either of them winning one difficult. Maybe they should instead aim for the Norm Smiths.

Its a 6 month injury - one that some don’t ever come back from and he was playing back at 3 months. Now he’s out injured. I don’t have to be a medic to question wtf they thought they were doing. It’s shambolic.
