Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
Dwayno is the most infuriatingly biased and clueless commentator there is. I cannot stand him one iota. Has no clue and cannot believe his contract with SEN gets renewed every year. This list of his is so far off the mark it’s not funny. I mean he has Dusty in the top 10 and Trac and Oliver sitting outside of that.. Belongs in the same sales bin at Target with JB and BT.

Trade Rumours 2023
I don't think any player makes it straight into our starting 23, unless they are top end talent like Daicos and even then its positional as well... i.e if we were somehow to snap up Reid, is he good enough in year 1 to play ahead of Viney, Trac, Oliver, Sparrow, Kozzy, Lingers in the midfield? Or even Bowey, McVee, Brayshaw off HB? The former two have had the VFL development. Not saying you wouldn't take him but we have that area sufficiently covered with depth. We are in a very rare position where we don't have to recruit for right now as we have plenty of depth. Given quality bookends are as rare as pink diamonds, you have to invest in getting them when they are available and they generally go top 5. It just so happens we are in need of at least a KPD in the next 2-3 years and we potentially have the draft capital to get it done now and invest in his development whilst we still have May playing . Dont have to agree, but that is just my view.

Trade Rumours 2023
1. Id say we have depth in Woe and father/son Brown in this years draft to fill this role. 2. Laurie / Howes?? if not then yes. 3. i think use our 2nd rounder for some ruck stock. What i think we need to look at is a KPD. May is 2 years away from retirement (possibly more). Turner is not a lock, but should be given some opportunities this year when we swing Petty forward. Should chase anything that is great 1:1, great interceptor and makes good decisions ball-in hand (pretty much everything that May is). Not sure if there is anything in the current draft pool that ticks all these boxes. Daniel Curtin from Claremont (Serious what is WA having what we need all the time) is 196cm and can potentially play up forward as well. If Freo tank hard , we should be able to snare him with a top 5 pick.

What they are saying at the Hangar
I loved this one I’m optimistic about this week, I can’t see us losing by more than 40 points.

How on earth does McKay get off on that late hit. It is ridiculous, farcical and completely inconsistent with what we have seen in the past. But are we surprised…. not one bit. Protected club.

PODCAST: Rd 04 vs West Coast
Sorry team but another question popped in the ol noggin. Given the Pies loss to the Lions in similarish circumstances (ie ruck issues) did we underplay the conditions of the GABBA in the final result ? I know it was mentioned but it felt like a lot of the rationale was more about Gawn getting injured.

COACHES VOTES: Rd 04 2023
A few leaderboard observations - Daicos + De Goey outdoing Trac and Oliver. -We still hold the highest polling top 3 players with Grundy taking Gawns spot.

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
True, but they are fast approaching the (statistical) point at which finals becomes unreachable and when that realisation takes place, then you’ll have instability in the coaching panel and in this case with club admin. This is much closer than people think. If Freo lose the next 3-4 in a row, even the VIC media will take a hold and then the spiralling begins . Suns , Dogs (OS), Lions ( GABBA), Hawks (OS), Swans (SCG) next 5. 1-4 is possible 2-3 is likely. So after 9 rounds Freo likely to be 3-6 and not playing finals as they would still have Cats twice, Sydney, Melbourne, Pies, Brissy to play.

if Geelong lose this then there has to be questions of tanking. Back to back is hard but we went 10-0 before running out of puff.

Dees v Weagles replay
I think it’ll become a point of differentiation or playing catch-up once ch 7 get streaming rights from next year. If they stream in 4K it’ll force Kayos hand.

Dees v Weagles replay
Kayo + Binge = Foxtel at less than half the price. The only downside is the streaming options are only in Full HD where Foxtel is up to 4K for some shows. Only a matter of time until they ditch the ancient satellite broadcasting setup and go full terrestrial at the same quality.

PREGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
We have never had a good match up in the past for this type of player… de Goey same boat - but agree must keep him quiet. I think Sparrow would be a good clamp and could squeeze if he gets on a run. But it was GWS so would read much into it. If Viney can negate Merrett in the middle, I think Oliver & Trac vs Parish & Shiel win 8-9 / 10. Will be interesting to see what they do in the ruck given they have both 2m Peter and Weid out injured. They’ll be playing a shortish and more mobile forward line, which suits their game plan , but nothing that we can’t handle.

Trent Rivers Re-Signs until 2027
Rivers joins the likes of Sparrow , Chandler & Jordon who would earn decent coin at another club but given our book, probably sacrifices upwards of 50-75k of his earning potential. Clubs will probably offer 100-150k per year more than we could .. that’ll be hard to say no to. Rivers is probably the player we can most afford to lose, given the alternatives we have down back. Sparrow and Jordon I’d want to keep more. But thats just my opinion.
