Why are we continuously being beaten in clearances?
I agree that it’s intent is to preserve our players as much as possible, but I think we can overplay its impact as we did last year with loading . Our stoppages, particularly in the centre square needs a bit more planning and training irrespective at who is in there. Personally having Kozzy in there to me is key as he is dynamic and can read the play better than most. Unfortunately he lacks size and can be neutralised very easily unless the team sets up to enable him to get free.

Crows making a mess of the Saints defence. They look the goods.

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
I’m with you. Yes we won and I get all that good teams find a way to win stuff and bank early win etc etc. But there are obvious gaps in our game, which is ok given we don’t want to peak now. I think my concern is I’m not sure how good we are. We haven’t really beaten anybody that is contending for the flag so it’s hard to get a read on true form. If we were to knock off Power next week I think I’ll start to feel better about our Sept prospects and that we are probably being a little to unrealistic on expectations on our performances.

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
May was back to his usual self… looked to be moving much better today/tonight. Grundy and the connection to the midfielders is still an issue for mine. Gawn had to spend a bit too much time in the middle. I noticed that he elected to grab and kick it in multiple occasions - perhaps suggesting a lack of confidence on our stoppage work? thought bowser covered the ground well today and worked well with Hibbo and Riv on the rebound. Still feels like we are in 2nd gear, which is ok at Round 9 I suppose - just as long it’s not a 2022 2nd gear scenario.

Is Richmond good or Geelong bad? I know the Tigers played well against us, but they look as good as they did Anzac Eve.

TRAINING: Friday 12th May, 2023
In teh absence of BBB and TMac knocking the door down for selection, J Smith is a good athlete and has good strength. Allows us to use Petty down back. Only ? will be his footy smarts at the forward and not letting his man work off him.

What they are saying at Waverley Park Drive
Some of the media pundits have him in their rolling AA side. Yes he does put up some clangers, but i think its those around him that make him look terrible. When he receives the ball or wins a groundball, the whole team should sprint forward for a quicker transition and create opportunity, but they dont and Saad is often sprinting into traffic with no options to go to hence the clanger. If you put him into a hard running team like Colling or Geelong or even us, he would be a weapon.

Im with you JNM.. I will be booing and cheering Jacko for the 1st game we play against him. This is my way of letting him know, that i wasn't happy when he left us hanging throughout the year, didnt put in 100% effort on numerous occasions and didn't do enough to secure a better deal for us.. The cheering is for the fact that Freo are in a nosedive, and that his trade actually ended up working out. I have no ill will against his choice to improve his life situation - i firmly believe that every player has a right to chose where they want to play and for how much - just as we all have a choice to decide where we want to work. He could have just managed the transition better and left on better terms than he did.

I loved Frosty. If that kid could make good decisions and maximise his raw talent, he'd be a bloody good defender.

Are we ever going to find out what is wrong Frittas foot? I know it was stepped on but perhaps there was something already there?
