  1. Interesting comment by Jordy Lewis in the post match about the rotation of midfielders very Geelong like, saving bodies of the main midfield group for the second half and finals. Make sense on why we are losing the midfield more that we did last year.
  2. Well when BBB is lining up for goal, you better vacate the MCG.
  3. There were a couple reversals anyone know what they were for?
  4. I’d like to see the running numbers - I think there was a lot of total distance covered tonight. The ball was zipping back and forth and the game really opened up in the 2nd half.
  5. It’s going to be a tough game. Max and Lever will be better after coming off long breaks and Oliver was probably still a bit under the weather but got it done in the end. I’d only look at bringing in BBB and move Petty back as Norf will try to stack talls. Larkey is the main threat and is probably too agile for May… Petty is a better matchup
  6. Watch it get changed silently in the next few. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
  7. It’s a bit of a throwaway line. Everyone knows how to beat everyone if they can execute better for longer.. Sounds like a coach who knows their season is over.
  8. There were not many teams that the Tigers wouldn’t have beat tonight. We forget their season was on the line and they threw everything at us. Having said that, our game has gone to absolute tatters. When there is pressure we are just no good. I could see how 3-4 Tigers players would swarm the ball winner and create a turnover. They also took the corridor away from us and we were left going through the wings. Our kicking skills and defensive ground balls is our kryptonite and everybody knows it.
  9. S Ryan matching Gawn and Grundy on SC points combined. Says something.
  10. What’s the opposite of cherry on top?
  11. This is an insipid performance. We have a lot of defensive structure problems with and without the ball. Right now we are not a top 8 side. Something stinks about this side atm.
  12. I don’t know what I’m watching. We are just playing some real poor footy. Cant see us pegging this one back … Looks like last week all over again.
  13. And so the roost comes home to roost 😂. The perfect saying for this occasion
  14. 1.6 for a pair of AFL KPFs is not a great result. Perfect day for it as well… I hope they find some form quick as we need at least one of them to contend this year.
  15. Can you get close enough to check his temperature?
  16. Once that new stadium takes capacity to 40K, it’s going to be a bloody fortress. They were already though to beat there as it is.
  17. Would Harley Reid be worth it? We would conceivably have to give up Our R1 and Freo’s R1 and possibly our R2 or F1 depending on how all the picks land. Assuming current ladder positions that would look like: P6, P13, P32 for P1 . That’s about 3500 points for 3000. Similar trade value for WC pickswap last year which saw it give 2 for 8 and 12. Maybe it’s our F2. Big call amd it’s early days… so we’ll just have to wait and see.
  18. I bought tickets 2 days ago and level 4 was about half full across the ground. Assuming many more will be snapped up in the lead up I’d expect 83k is definitely possible.
  19. Is the captains run tomorrow? Any idea where it is?
  20. right now who knows.
  21. Head is sacrosanct and so If there is any consistency in the tribunal it’s a minimum 3 weeks. He looked to bump/brace last minute and Libba is now under protocols, which means 3 weeks given the 2 week non concussion bump precedents set earlier on in the season.
  22. I think there are two realistic scenario’s. One is that they still ‘think’ they can make finals and play the same brand and fail miserably given a tougher 2nd half draw that will really capitalise on their weaknesses. Two is that they finally acknowledge that their game plan is out-of-date and they want to get ahead start for 2024 and change mid-season. They’ll most likely get a few hidings and potentially drop a few more games but will fair better in 2024. It will take a brave call either way.
  23. Are you sure your not LJs manager / agent or mother? Not sure what your fixation is on a defending a player that has defected to an opposition team. if you want to clap for all participants and hold no ill will good on you. I can respect that, but maybe, just maybe, Australian rules football is not the game for you.
  24. That’s what I thought as well. Did I also hear that he actually showed up to training as well? I mean if you have the flu, you ain’t getting out of bed, let alone rocking up to training.
  25. The circumstances are completely different. Everyone is entitled to chose their own workplace. However LJ (most likely at the direction of his manager) played the game and put us a significant disadvantage (granted at the time it was an unders deal). In my book any compassion a departing player shown is almost 100% based on the terms of which they depart and LJ couldn’t have done it much worse … I mean there is always thiu who shall not be named but that is just a different league of betrayal. Those calling for cheering him… BOOOOOO
