  1. We have a top 5 pick from Freo. Take that to the bank.
  2. Three things guaranteed tonight 1. Cold 2. poor umpiring against us. Predicting at least 3-4 gifted goals. 3. Slow start and no pressure once again. Coming off a 5 day break is a danger game against any opposition.
  3. I reckon Adelaide are a chance to knock off the Pies and if we put Norf to the sword we should take our rightful seat on the throne.
  4. Is it me or the umps torching Port?
  5. Perhaps but can’t see them finishing top 4.
  6. Saints are not top 4 material.
  7. A slight tangent to the current discussion. But we play a total of 8 interstate trips compared to Geelong 6, Collingwood 6, Carlton 6. The difference boils down to : 1. Sold game to NT - against GWS 2. Norf game in Hobart. I dont mind the game in the NT, we get some cash; its not too hot and humid either. But the fact that the others only have 6 trips is total BS - im convinced this has been lobbied and forms part of the fixture criteria, which again makes the whole fixture biased for certain teams.
  8. Wouldn’t happen as you don’t want to mess with form going into finals as it has the potential to backfire. But I get your point and I would hate my team to do that…. It’s akin to cheating in my book.
  9. What about using the picks to chase a mid 20s established gun? Sam Taylor from GWS would be a great get for Freo’s 1st and our F2. Unlikely to happen but the kids a AA FB lock at 23 and will slot in nicely with May and Lever and allow Petty to really develop his forward craft.
  10. Sounds like Matt Rowell. For the amount this guy was touted as the next big thing he hasn’t really lived up to the hype. He’s no flop and has missed a lot of footy but isn’t bashing the door down.
  11. I don’t think it’s that clear cut. 2-3 first rounders will do much to accelerate a rebuild and get bottom dwellers into Finals 1-2 years quicker. I think Hawks will take the trade. But I won’t be loosing sleep if the didn’t. Our current draft hand will do us just fine as well.
  12. If there’s a chance he could be the next Dusty he’ll if he was 90% of Dusty, you’d do it in a heart beat. Don’t even need to think about it.
  13. Forget about the roof did I read they are paying 750M for a 25K stadium? I mean that’s a bit of rip off… why wouldn’t you build something of the size of Adelaide Oval or something akin to Optus oval? It won’t cater for future generations.
  14. They have an extra day recovery and so will have a game plan that tries to maximize this advantage. If they start anything like West Coast and get a sniff, itll be a worrying sign. Team will feel disappointed not to give one of their greats in Goldstein a memorable 300 milestone so expect a response. I hope we pull our finger out and pants them 8-1 goals in the opening quarter and then contain the game from there. If it is left to the last quarter id say we are a 50-50 chance.
  15. That is the first i've heard that saying and it has made my day. Ill make it my life's purpose to use it as often as i can.
  16. Yeah i don't think he gave any credit to Melbourne in his pressor, which is quite disrespectful. Its ok to say what they didn't do well and how they lost the game, but every time we lose, Goody will always acknowledge that the other team was better. I don't really watch opposition pressers so not sure what is the norm across the comp.
  17. Taranto carved us up in stoppages and got the ball to the outside on several occasions - particularly in the 1st half. He always plays well against us for some reason. Its always a rule-of-thumb that you never give the 5 votes to a player in the losing team and how Hardwick didnt give JV more than 1 vote is mind boggling. Riewoldt & Short for 3 and 2 votes is also pretty insulting. in the end its the 4 points that matters
  18. Geelong’s points differential is a result of an anomaly achieved by playing against a 2nd rate Sydney.
  19. Kozzy was terrible last night. He really needs to get more consistency in his game - he’s not a second or third year player anymore. Hasn’t been right since he got suspended. Given he’s likely to sign you’d think he would play with more freedom. I wonder what’s beyond his form slump.
  20. What is even more worrisome is that they have gears. They can turn it on when they need to win games or just stay in cruise control to preserve their bodies.
  21. Nope - I love the bloke but Oliver can be dwarfed by others in our team. Daicos is going to be the best player in the AFL in a few years time and has the potential to be mentioned in the same breath as some of the all time greats. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to wash my mouth out with concrete cleaner.
  22. Can’t stand N Daicos, but cannot deny his talent. He’ll win the Brownlow by a fair margin.
  23. Did the same to us. Regardless of game plan deployed, pressure will unravel all.
  24. I’d have to disagree….. the noise from Tigers fans was far greater. 70/30 Tigers is my best guess.
