I agree, Pies are the inform team atm, but it’s May and you know what they say about premierships. We need to show something tonight - Port are getting close to contender status - a win for them tonight will definitely give them the belief. We on the other hand need to take a top 8 scalp to show that we are not downhill skiers.

Tonight’s game will be decided on one thing alone. Effort. If we are hungrier than them, we will win. But I get the feeling that Ken will get them all riled up so we have to match it and better it.

Some very interesting selection decisions - given the smaller Power forwards makes sense. Power are in form - pity it’s not a full squad as we need a real test to get a read on where we stand.

The victims / accusers are not prepared to give any sworn evidence. In any public trial , the case would have been thrown out, so I’m confused as to why the investigation continues. When this initially broke I was heavily against the the way this was ‘leaked’ to the media for this reason alone. Nothing has been achieved, nobody has been sanctioned and two notable figures have had their reputation tarnished based on a review that failed to interview the defendants? It is mind boggling how grossly unprofessional this has been.

It wouldn’t be helping one iota that the team is completely uncompetitive. If Clarko has been a little off in his demeanour/ intent or instruction as a result of the mental stress the allegations have caused , it’s not a long bow to draw that this has also impacted the team. Then there is the internal speculation/ judgement of the playing group on Clarko himself.

That is beside the point, coaching a rock bottom team is hard enough - add to that these allegations that are being drawn out, any normal person would have buckled a long time ago.

I have no issue in accepting Sparrow's 1 match. What is going to be the real story is when a higher profile player is put in this situation and there is the cumulative precedent (Sparrow, Close, Kozzy, Merrett and others) that is overlooked by the MRO. I get umpires are out-of-bounds for club scrutiny, but there needs to be visible (public) pressure / displeasure that can be directed at the MRO if this situation were to arise (by the clubs). I think he gets away with too much inconsistency - unlike umpires - he has ample time to get it right. The JVR citation was an outlier and im now of the belief was probably more the AFL than MRO, so happy to let that slide (for now).

I call BS (based on this vision). Christiansen unhappy that JVR got off. Sparrow is trying pull him down in the tackle - not sideways. The sling is a result of two players moving in different directions initiated by Day’s rotation trying to break the tackle.

Collingwood miles ahead of everyone else and they’ve got multiple players to come back. The only thing going for the rest of the comp is that they have peaked too early and will run out of gas.

So that’s why you go tall and clunk em. It can go both ways.
