Can you get close enough to check his temperature?

Once that new stadium takes capacity to 40K, it’s going to be a bloody fortress. They were already though to beat there as it is.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Gawndy the Great replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Would Harley Reid be worth it? We would conceivably have to give up Our R1 and Freo’s R1 and possibly our R2 or F1 depending on how all the picks land. Assuming current ladder positions that would look like: P6, P13, P32 for P1 . That’s about 3500 points for 3000. Similar trade value for WC pickswap last year which saw it give 2 for 8 and 12. Maybe it’s our F2. Big call amd it’s early days… so we’ll just have to wait and see. -
I bought tickets 2 days ago and level 4 was about half full across the ground. Assuming many more will be snapped up in the lead up I’d expect 83k is definitely possible.

Is the captains run tomorrow? Any idea where it is?

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
Gawndy the Great replied to adonski's topic in Melbourne Demons
Head is sacrosanct and so If there is any consistency in the tribunal it’s a minimum 3 weeks. He looked to bump/brace last minute and Libba is now under protocols, which means 3 weeks given the 2 week non concussion bump precedents set earlier on in the season. -

I think there are two realistic scenario’s. One is that they still ‘think’ they can make finals and play the same brand and fail miserably given a tougher 2nd half draw that will really capitalise on their weaknesses. Two is that they finally acknowledge that their game plan is out-of-date and they want to get ahead start for 2024 and change mid-season. They’ll most likely get a few hidings and potentially drop a few more games but will fair better in 2024. It will take a brave call either way. -

Are you sure your not LJs manager / agent or mother? Not sure what your fixation is on a defending a player that has defected to an opposition team. if you want to clap for all participants and hold no ill will good on you. I can respect that, but maybe, just maybe, Australian rules football is not the game for you. -
That’s what I thought as well. Did I also hear that he actually showed up to training as well? I mean if you have the flu, you ain’t getting out of bed, let alone rocking up to training.

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition

The circumstances are completely different. Everyone is entitled to chose their own workplace. However LJ (most likely at the direction of his manager) played the game and put us a significant disadvantage (granted at the time it was an unders deal). In my book any compassion a departing player shown is almost 100% based on the terms of which they depart and LJ couldn’t have done it much worse … I mean there is always thiu who shall not be named but that is just a different league of betrayal. Those calling for cheering him… BOOOOOO -

I will be booing . In fact I may just look to smuggle into the G one of those Viking era bullhorns to get a bit of extra bass into it. -
Massive game by the Bont. 3 votes easily.
-
Not for us.
-
That’s the game. Freo legitimately at the cross roads.
-
Shocking free to Agmiss. I thought the extra ump was supposed to help.
-
LJ still cannot clunk em. How many has he dropped so far.
-
We all remember what Trac dished up last year coming off a flu - if he’s not 95% or better than he shouldn’t play.
-
And Goody will smile and give the AFL a cuddle.
-
Saying he trained away from the group but had symptoms… just what we need is a freaking virus to decimate our side before our bounce back game.. MFCSS running wild.
-
My view is that it happened before he was called to stand. Potentially a loophole - but in that time between mark and the umps call to stand is still open for the player to move within reason as long as your not interfering with the opponent. I think Oliver was still on the mark at the time as well.
-
I was stunned when he towelled us up last year thinking where did this bloke come from - to later realise he was a maturity aged recruit was more unbelievable. The kids that make the draft these days are incredibly driven and it’s not surprising that some talent slips through as the maturity , professionalism may not be there. Think about how close Oliver was to missing out and how he’s turned out … Theres plenty out there in the feeder and suburban leagues.

What they area saying at Punt Road
Gawndy the Great replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
I read as being on the field (regardless of position ) was considered out of position. Pretty consistent with most of DLs views tbh. edit: ok I see we eventually came to the same conclusion:) -
Love how Oliver gets dragged into this on his tackle on Parker and yet Merrett shouldn’t have been suspended.
-
Hopefully we will see the fruits of this towards the end of the year.
