  1. Was during State Election and Labor still wanted Green votes. The Greens, Ellen Sandell was against the Jolimont idea.
  2. Be good to take the train the Jolimont, walk up the ramp and take a short stroll to watch the lads during training. Gosch's Paddock is a bit out of the way if you want to catch a training session. Having the MFC facilities visible from the Northern side of the MCG would also drive up member numbers. Would always be visible when we are not playing at the G, a Red and Blue building is great advertising.
  3. The fact that Collingwood is in our territory pisses me off and I am sure it pisses off alot of you as well. MCG is or home and further away than the Westpac Centre is basically handing the keys to them. Just make Jolimont happen. Tell the Yarra Park snobs to sod off.
  4. Goodwin has a great coaching team behind him. Really happy with the team as a whole. Sparrow's decision making worries me. He looked scared to take the game on. Handballs to pressured team mates too many times. Tommy Mac also. But other than that they didn't do anything that turned into Geelong goals. Solid team effort. Spargs tackling is awesome.
  5. It was the 1 percenters that worried me most and why I said GWS wanted it more. The smothers, the hard ball gets, GWS were just better with 75 to 40. Yes we shouldn't be playing finals football now but the team shouldn't be going into a game against someone lower on the ladder thinking they only need to turn up.
  6. You are fooling yourself if you think we played a complete game. Last quarter I wasn't worried because GWS were cooked. We still have a fragile group and our backline wasn't as solid as it can be. The cross field hospital passes, wtf, flat kicks give the opposition less time to intercept. Maybe the new balls and plastic boots have made it harder to do stab passes since I last played...idk The Geelong game next week worries me. Happy to be 3-0, if Goodwin says last night was controlled and running to plan, ok. I don't want to hear a single player say they weren't prepared against Geelong.
  7. Lucky the Giants were unlucky with injuries. Giants wanted it more and its good to get a win we shouldn't have gotten.
  8. Getting someone to talk about their mental problems is a very difficult thing. People who are on the brink of removing themselves from society have already convinced themselves that nobody cares and how the people around them would be better off without them. People who suffer mental illness can hate being asked if they are ok. People with mental illness think nobody notices them and asking them if they are OK too much doesn't inspire them to talk but to throw up more walls. Getting that person to seek professional help... that is another battle. Push too hard and more walls will be thrown up. The message isn't just for the people to check in on mates but to let the sufferers know their friends and family will listen and help where they can. Talking does alot.
  9. Ugly win but will take the 4 points any way we can. Other than a few signs here and there, there was little mention of Covid. MCC was very relaxed. The Bull Ring also had people inside and not a mask in sight. Felt as relaxed in there as if I was back in southern NSW.
  10. We are the new Richmond Tigers. We'll finish 9th again.
  11. Lead Hit-out 45 to 23. Lost Clearances 23 to 48, No Oliver, Vines, Brayshaw. Still only a pre-season.
  12. Losing the pre-season game. Member's on Demonland: "The Sky is Falling, The Sky is Falling!"
  13. It was all organised by a Social media Supporter Group. Not by the MFC. ABC just needed to fill their quota. Probably a cashed up group of supporters whom of which invited Gary Pert, Adam Yse, Gary Lyon. I'm outraged, where was my invite?! Meh.
  14. Yeah, we need forwards who will apply defensive pressure... or they just mark the ball and kick it between the big sticks and at 60% efficiency Ben Brown is rather good at that.
  15. Marty Hore, hope he is fit next season. We were one defender short and Harmes didn't fill the gap. Neither did Jones for that matter. Leave Charlie alone. I like him, and I hope he proves all you doubters wrong. He has a good football brain and the work he put in showed last season.
  16. This will be his last year. I am more than happy to give him another run. Experience is priceless, take a look at Hawthorn after they offloaded Luke Hodge, Sam Mitchell and Jordan Lewis Jarryd Roughed (different circumstances). A season without that experience and look at them now.
  17. I made reference to this 2 weeks ago. Dogs and Saints are getting pressured to merge. North Melbourne heading South. The other leak of Blakey coaching with Roos mentoring at the Roos has come about, maybe St. Dogs could be a thing... or Dogma anyone?
  18. I wasn't giving our BnF winners from poor teams a back hander, just giving some context to Melbourne finishing to 9th compared to Hawthorn finishing 17th. Hibbo and Lever finished 9th and 11th, would you put Frost above them in votes? We were lacking a Half-Back or 2 this year, Smith and Harmes were not great, but hoping we have that sorted next season.
  19. We all understand where Hawks finished on the ladder right?
  20. A Spargo back at Arden Street might tempt Norf. I personally like Spargo myself.
  21. I'm hearing Hawks are looking at Jayden Hunt.
  22. They forgot to add, "Part 1". Hope in 2028 we don't have, "To Hell and Back, the quest continues to escape Hell."
  23. No trading Fritch. We would pay dearly and I think we could get his kicking right. Easily a 40 goal player if sort that and I think it is mostly psychological.
  24. We have to understand that professional sports people are not very smart, other than a few rare cases. They get isolated in these boys clubs for up to 20 years and what would be common sense to us is not to them. I know a few big name AFL players in the past have had minders to help keep them off the Back pages for the wrong reason. Maybe Harley told his minder he was off to bed and well the rest is in the media. We knew the risk we were taking in signing Harley and we should be disappointment how this has turned out. But least of all you should not be suprised.
