That game has to be the number one most exciting and important game I ever witnessed. The excitement level was so high, and the crowd so loud, it was hard to concentrate on the game itself! It was a struggle to see anything standing on the dirt among the crowd (why is everyone so tall?) but one of those great moments in life which you could tell your children with pride, I was there the day Melbourne made the finals. And Robbie was such a champion who deserved success. It was a pity he wasn't rewarded more.

Collingwood were clever in disguising it as a proposal to benefit Victorian sport in general, women's sport, and sports research. Of course they will benefit as well. Having said that, where were our lobbyists to extract some money out of a Liberal government desperate for votes in Victoria because of what happened in the last State election? Our team is called Melbourne and the city is Melbourne, after all. Another lost opportunity.

Pink Lady Game - have we ever won one of these?
Dame Gaga replied to Spud's topic in Melbourne Demons
Is it the Pink Lady Round? I didn't even know. Lack of promotion this year it seems to me. I always enjoy the Pink Lady Match. It is for a good cause. -
Yes, make him suffer, just like us? LOL. Life wasn't meant to be easy.

Good memories in these clips, not only to remind us what a great player he was, but how good some of his team mates were as well. On another note, it is so strange to see the concrete patch behind the goals at the city end of the MCG, the players rolling in the mud, the cigarette and alcohol advertising around the grounds, the tight shorts! It seems so long ago now and yet I remember those days well. Makes me feel old.

So, any player not playing well at the moment needs to go? Won't have a team left if that's the criteria. Something has happened to everyone's confidence down there. Methinks this is another Watts situation. Everyone is going to have their own opinion and stick to it, come hell or high water. Both seem to be happening to the club right now. Hell and high water. Petracca to stay, seeing how everyone else is down on form as well. He is not alone.

With Easter and ANZAC Day so close this year it seems like everyone has taken the opportunity to treat the whole week as a holiday. The day (a solemn DAY of remembrance) has lost something with this continuation. Easter round was already long and drawn out. Thank goodness ANZAC Day falls on a Saturday next year.

I have already acknowledged I made a mistake in saying the Collingwood/Essendon ANZAC Day games were always close. It wasn't deliberate, only a misconception on my part due to the hype which surrounds the occasion of these matches. And the fact I know too many rabid Collingwood supporters who talk it up every year.
-
Thanks, but I was incorrect with the games always being close. It just seemed that way every time I listened to annoying Collingwood supporters that I know. They are a bad influence. See my other posts nearby.
-
You missed my apology last night when I recognized I made a mistake. Got caught up in the hype from too many Collingwood supporter acquaintances. They know how to blow their own trumpets. Learned it well from Eddie.
-
Sorry, got the facts wrong, every second year is a blowout. I must have got caught up in the hype. I know/put up with, too many Collingwood supporters.

Uh-oh, I thought you were going to say MFC could be found in the bargain bin at the Reject Shop. Those things are always full of unwanted or broken items. Never going to be up to standard. Lucky you didn't say that.

On ANZAC Day Collingwood and Essendon always seem to provide the fans at the ground with thrilling football and a close result which keeps everyone on tenterhooks. These factors are the big draw cards as well as the salute to the ANZACs. Those two teams seem to know how to rise to the occasion. Easy to loathe both of them, but have to begrudgingly admire them for that.

The pre-game was an inspiring and moving story. The first quarter a slight thriller. The rest of the game was a horror movie. I watched most of it with my hands over my eyes.

Melbourne are specialists at breaking records.
-
Remember that TV show called Spin City? Gave everyone the blueprint for press conferences.
-
Cringeworthy fanboy.
-
Carey and Ling talking up the Tigers for the Premiership now. Ummm....they were playing Melbourne.
-
Okay, I'll just say it. Martin is a thug and gets applauded for it. Riewoldt is a weasel who kept twisting player's arms behind their backs when they were lying on the ground. Umpires have no idea.
-
That South Australian umpire should go home and stay there.
-
He's been doing it all game. Dirty player.
-
Now the commentators are giggling about what happened to Viney. They make me sick.
-
Fritz is playing like he doesn't want to have the ball in his hands. He hands it off straight away to whoever is near him. Doesn't matter if it's a Melbourne player under pressure or a Richmond player or the ground. He doesn't take ownership of the ball and look for the best option. What's going on with that?

Stop handpassing to nobody.

"Commentators" is not the right word. Cheerleaders more like. Hand them some pom poms.
