  1. Yes Buck but a mid match switch like Smith forward would not be too revolutionary which is what I would have done at least at 3/4 time with maybe Melsham at HB and more game time fir Angus and ball tome for Harmesy.
  2. Agree Jam
  3. I like Locky and Think he is part of our future backline with Rivers BUT to not address his failure in being caught twice (not once) then laughing would be irresponsible. To day he didn't cost us the game is not correct but at least 5 Geelong goals were soft in my opinion. Lockys 2 frees No defender on goal line and Duncan left alone At CHF both in the first quarter, are ALL match losing goals. Our defence has potential but I believe that O Mac as goalkeeper plus May at CHB and Lever floating and intercepting with Rivers on HB flanks and Lockhart with either Jets or Hibbo or Salem should be our best team defence. On occSions Joel May be better than one if the talls (Oscar ) for mobility. I think Salem is ok but is not an urgent footballer and elsewhere his skills may be best suited. The forward line is something else and a work in progress but it resembles a crowded marketplace or the Champs Élysées with about 8 roads meeting together Cant believe how Goody etc didn't look at Carlton separation of forwards that enabled one on ones with their Cats opponents and nullified their team football from the back. Seriously what input does Alan Richo A Goody and the defence coach (not sure who ) but we are so devoid of and plans to minimise our opponents it is so obvious it's disgraceful. The whole team plays dumb football Because there is no innovation by the Coaches. BTW I would have switched Smith to the forward line in the 3rd quarter or at least at 3/4 time to provide more spark and marking strength. Harmes full time back and more minutes from Angus and Trac on the ball. You have to Make things happen at times And Goody is footy brain dead basically on game day !

Fritsch takes one on ones and Hanna took one in the third quarter just before 3/4 time in the semi vs Hawks in 2018 and late vs Saints at the G in 2017 from memory!!!

Agree about Viney to Selwood and perhaps Harmesy to Danger

My explanation for Harley is that his program management was already mapped out for a 2:1 play and miss at this stage. And this may be the plan fir the next block of three games till later in The season or occur fir the the whole season! Last weeks intraclub was matchlike In time And tberefore he has played 2 games and now needs a rest in his 2020 program. Liken it to a horse having a very serious track gallop if th races are cancelled and is on a schedule fir the major Cup races. The plan in fitness is not altered. I don't have any doubt what Goody said and it has proved truthful. Why doubt it Picket???and etc!!! Kossie Angus Jacko and Lockhart (or Jonesy for Jacko) I expect to be the changes. Nev is off the boil but will come back Smithy is very lucky but FD and Goody seem determined to give him a favourable run. Time will tell but I also hope he has to switched forward during the match. Maybe to win the game. We need to play well and be competitive vs Cats after last year and to get our season really started seriously. Win the rucks and mids go to town with pressure and ball carry so their defence is under pressure all day. Pace is one of the keys and ball movement essential and Kossie and Jay and Angus plus the wingers must play boldly. Lets see it will be fascinating. Go Dees
  9. What hub? We won't be in another probably as we have already done 5 away games West Coast Carlton Essendon Sydney and Freo at a max there are 4 more away games maybe 3 so either 6 or 7 games will be at home MCG fir the rest of the season. They will qualify fir the $180/200 rebate from the MCC which is a godsend. Hopefully the Tigers Pies Hawks and even Saints games and maybe a crowd can come but unless over 25,000 forget any profit.Maybe Port at Alice Springs a good result ! It is a season they we must start by showing we are up and about and Sunday would be an ideal start. A win over the Cats puts them 1_3 and we are 2-1. Freo Sydney and Cats plus Dogs is a 3-1 Chance. Let's get our act together Dees in 2020 and show we are serious.
  10. Stupid comment Hsving 3 teams share the one Venue ? Imagine if one player got the virus? Its Essendon by THREE with all the drama Thsts why we are singly alone at Casey!

Seriously what a bunch of negative nellies D/L has providing posts. like in life nothing was meant to be easy that's with fighting for. Hss anyone questioned the war years and flags then? Last time I checked flags counted as the same as in non war years and the Clubs didn't discriminate nor due the record books. It is what it is! HAve the attitude that we play any where any time and give everything because some Clubs may not And should care if you win it whatever happens. Afterwards don't devalue or Discriminate the Effort of the eventual premier!!! Oh and please don't bore the pages of social media with post after post of hard luck stories of inequality and Favouritism or chances lost due to fate!
  12. Dies nit surprise me He has appeared as a bit if a loose cannon as a person and player He is also homesick and not a great decision maker obviously. Deserves 3/4 weeks out.

Legion wrong on all counts Jonesy had a bad one but not habitual kicker to opposition Lockhart every inch a player in defence Will be a long term mer once he gets back in He's eyeing Lord News spot And will be there at end of season. Tommy needs to respond with goals and marks to assist the smalls also. Let's see again how he goes.
  16. 58er replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Tomo was in the ruck For GWS a fair proportion of the Prelim Final last year especially when the ball was up forward And was very competitive too against Grundy.

No agree BD Jay should be in defence toAssist if Tippa gets loose. Will be regular by end of season Demon 11 fails to appreciate the pace and skill as he breaks lines which we need from defence. P

My idea is that if you get Weid doing some ruck work each quarter he gets involved in the game and Is far more prepared on the forward line to compete and take marks. He got 20 disposals plus hit outs the day in the Marsh Cup that Maxy missed vs Crows. Needs action to be forced when In the ruck and responds To this not waiting fir the ball and bound by 2/3 defenders.

Sue we can see better on TV than Stephan May did last week when kicking out! Could see the players end gaps etc. But he couldn't see Tomlinsons wing and that he is taller than his opponent and may well be an sdvantage to kick to!! Indtead of the ball coming back most of the time through inaccurate passing or poor judgement by our players !
  20. 58er replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
No wrong it's Jets or Hibbo under pressure or Smith. if Jay played up forward then Jonesy might but he will lift on Sunday last week was as poor a game as he has ever played.

No ur wrong HB That night he didn't change Oscar off Hawkins till about 15/17 mins in after Tommy Hawkins has kicked 2 or 3 goals. Dont think he got Any more but Frosty closed on him and punched the ball away on the lead. As we all know we lost that game after the siren BUT I will always blame Goody for that LOSS which Cost us a top 4 Spot that year. Yes it's heartbreaking to see other Coaches tweak Their teams and win during games and we seem to be brain dead o the Coaches box! Thought Alan Richardson would have some input at least in this area!

Roos is not here anymore It is irrelevant mostly to bring that Up. i am getting more disappointed by what's happening and believe at some stage very soon Weid must be given an opportunity to obtain a senior berth be it at CHB or CHF or FF or as FPocket/2nd Ruck backup to Gawny. I believe his best games have been as a ruck/forward and he needs to hit the scoreboard to get any credit by Coaches and fans alike. If Maxy was injured and Preuss not fit Weid would no doubt selected in the No1 ruck role. in the Marsh Cup he was very promising with nearly 20 disposals inc team role around the ground with some marks. That's why I favour this role as its best fir the team and Maxy as well. Jacko could still be in the team if form warranted because of his mobility and competitive nature gaining valuable experience rather than linguish in the scrap games week after week. Playing Fritta at FF will only work on some occasions but not consistently as he is not powerful enough in contests and needs to run around and create opportunities equally as well. We have this year and next I think as Weid is contracted until next years end to get it right. It's the biggest challenge of any player on our list and many of us ( and the FD and Coaches ) have only so much patience and confidence is so vital for him to succeed. Maybe a chat with a Wayne Carey or that ilk might help!!

Why /How fo you think Jonesy is injured? TMac is not totally out of form Yes he didn't score last week but give him another chance and LJ also. Smith lucky Lockhart better suited us faster and classier. ANB ok last week Prob deserves another chance not at Kossies expense though. Interesting clash plenty of questions to be answered. Even money if we can limit Tippa.
  25. Looks as though it had been amended thank goodness !
