  1. Just the idea that we're rightfully called frustrating should at least be acknowledgement that we have many of the ingredients required to be a successful side. Not ideal I know but right now I'll take that over everything that came immediately before the Roos / Goodwin era.
  2. Hi W4tA. I hear what you're saying and I might feel the same in a few weeks. Right now I'm more optimistic of there being a peace settlement in the Middle East than us fixing our forward 50 entry issues. That said I've felt far worse after a loss than today and am prepared to give everyone concerned a little more time before I start burning effigies of Goody.
  3. A little frustrating with our forward 50 entries and failure to stick a tackle when it counted being the difference in the end I think. Without Jonesy and Nev in the 22 we now have a pretty young side. I thought Max, Hunty and Vines were our best today with Melky now being the most likely of our senior players to face being dropped. With so few clean entries inside 50 I thought our forwards were outmuscled when forced into a contest. Lockhard got caught a couple of times being a little slow to dispose of the ball but that's only to be expected in someone playing their second or third game at this level. If we can cobble together enough wins to make finals I think we could take Geelong when it counts most. Disappointed today but not disheartened.
  4. As is almost always the case it'll be about which Melbourne decides to turn up. Not the opposition. We're the AFL version of the little girl with a little curl.
  5. I was thinking more about where one has roast beef and another stays at home etc ?
  6. Interesting. I wonder where that little piggy goes.
  7. On each foot or in total ? If he falls over a lot it’s probably the latter.
  8. I'm watching with the sound off. I know it's been said to death but Brayshaw, BT and McAveney are all awful in their own unbearable way.
  9. This thread has turned into a bit of a minefield so I'll try and tread carefully. It shouldn't need to be said but I don't think it's for us white folks to decide the parameters of what is and isn't racist behaviour. That hasn't stopped plenty trying of course. We can definitely play our part though by supporting initiatives aimed at educating or calling out those that are clearly struggling to come to terms with 21st century norms. Political leaders around the world looking for scapegoats for their failed agendas aren't helping unfortunately.
  10. I haven't seen this guy for so long I've forgotten what he even looks like.
  11. I feel that if playing our game tonight and moving the Geelong game out by a day to next Monday would have suited the broadcasters then they probably would have been moved.
  12. As the cluster areas of Brimbank, Hume, Moreland and Darebin all share common boundaries couldn't they just be declared one large clusterf@ck ?
  13. You mean you enjoyed Adelaide being dismantled on national tv.
  14. Like a To Hell and Back prequel ?
  15. Ditto Wellsy. Our own games aside I've switched every other one off before half time and in many cases haven't even checked the score later.
  16. Me too Dazzle. We're only nine weeks or so away from what would ordinarily be the end of the regular home and away season when many players and fans alike would be ready to psychologically check out from the game before turning their attention to another year. All of a sudden the 2021 preseason doesn't seem so far off.
  17. I wonder where the tipping point might be when people start to turn off and disengage from the 2020 season based on how compromised, improvised and unpredictable it has already become just three weeks in.
  18. Hi DD. So he visited friends and went to a house inspection between Wednesday and Friday ? What an eejit.
  19. No idea but it's great for the immune system. Sláinte!
  20. Wait ‘til they find out he’s been using Guinness as a masking agent.
  21. This could so easily have been us after last week. Disappointing we're not playing tomorrow but at least our boys aren't now at risk of being infected and in the same boat as Essendon. It would be good if they could bring forward the Geelong game so that we don't have to wait a fortnight between games.
  22. With probably a dozen or so clubs wearing black & white stripes whilst being nicknamed the magpies throughout the different divisions of english football I don't quite understand why there's such an issue with it over here. I can maybe see the argument for all clubs having their own emblem / nickname for marketing reasons in a finite competition but not team colours. If clubs really want to embrace the modern sporting landscape they are missing a trick if they don't fully embrace the concept of away and even interstate guernseys whether there's a colour clash or not. Get the designs right and they've got themselves a very handy revenue stream. Unfortunately many of ours through the years have been awful. As a footnote I'm sick of hearing from Koch and McGuire as much as anyone. Ricciuto is not far behind.
  23. There are guys at his club that would walk over hot coals for that sort of coin. Or maybe not.
  24. Melbourne folded like cheap furniture against FC. We should ■■■■■■■ smash them. A not so subtle attempt to inject their main sponsor into the discussion ?
  25. Hi DJ. That might work if only two clubs conveniently don't make the cut. If however six clubs can't meet the set KPI's then the media revenues would drop significantly, particularly if one or more were from an interstate market, Port Adelaide being an example.
