  1. 45 mins in and nobody has mentioned learnings. So far so good.
  2. By December, the AFL has committed to releasing a fixture that will be scheduled fully up until round six, which includes Anzac Day. It was December 10 days ago. The rest of the season's match-ups will also be set, however rounds seven to 23 won't include the date, timeslots and choice of TV broadcaster. Clubs have been informed the release of the rest of the season will be on a flexible basis in line with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with hope to give clubs at least four weeks' notice before each fixture 'drop'. What do dates, timeslots and the choice of tv broadcasters have to do with the covid-19 pandemic ? If we're drawn to play West Coast in Perth in round 7 will an outbreak in WA dictate whether we play at 7.50 pm on a Friday shown on CH 7 or 2 pm on Sunday shown on Fox ?
  3. Looks great. Now they just need to jack it all up and move it 50km closer to civilisation.
  4. James Brayshaw screeching in the background takes a bit of the shine off it.
  5. Is that the Collingwood facility they are training on ? I hope they've all had their rabies shots if so.
  6. The most enjoyable part of Tasmania having their own stand alone side would be seeing how Jeff Kennett tries to plug the $4 million annual shortfall in his own club's finances whilst simultaneously trying to fund their $130 million elite training facility in Dingley.
  7. There used to be a time when signing for St Kilda was announcing your retirement.
  8. I'd be happy for the club to can all the shop talk until March then drop a new documentary. Until then Max could talk about something he has a better handle on like jaffles or coffee.
  9. 12 months ago this thread could have been called Petracca into pies.
  10. Life was so less stressful when we were completely rubbish and nobody tried to poach our players through free agency ??‍♂️
  11. Considering our entire squad will be out of contract over the next 5 years maybe we should just live in a perpetual state of anxiety.
  12. I guess with Oscar gone ANB will get double the love.
  13. In all seriousness I think the only thing I might persist with from this year would be to go 'on the road' for consecutive games. For example away games against Fremantle then Port Adelaide on the way back to Melbourne or a game away against Adelaide before our game in Alice. A couple of these a year would cut down on travel time over the season and give players some quality time together.
  14. And a midfield that can locate him.
  15. I'm not a fan of this 4 week rolling fixture. There's nothing like the certainty of knowing you'll be playing North in Hobart in round 23 sometime between Thursday and Sunday.
  16. Having just read the article it sounds like a complete dogs breakfast to me.
  17. I hear ya LDvC. I was a little envious of the pampered dogs that get to p#ss and sh#t all over it every day.
  18. I cycled out past Victoria Park today and it looked great. A world away from its days as a VFL venue. Whether it's Richmond or us, all of these developments are only good until the next widening of Punt Road. We might be fine depending on where our facility is located at Goschs but the Tiges would surely need to relocate.
  19. One human year is equivalent to five Dogga years.
  20. I for one won't be losing any sleep over what Hutchison and Barrett say. They should change the name of their show from The Sounding Board to The Echo Chamber.
  21. As I understand it both of those grounds are owned by the local authorities. Kardinia Park is a big money spinner for the area and Whitten Oval is a green space that the local community has access to 7 days a week and is attached to a community sports hall managed by Victoria University. I cycle past the ground a lot and it looks like the money spent there has had a really positive effect. I'm sure that once our club has concrete plans signed off and can prove that the space will also be an asset to the local rate payers we'll also be due a government hand out. Unfortunately we're starting from scratch and much of the work done to date has been behind the scenes.
  22. Sounds like the Collingwood fan base are revolting.
  23. I wonder if it could have been us snatching Treloar at the death if we'd been able to offload Tom. Oh well, they say everything happens for a reason.
  24. Not to mention Slug Jordan and Gags Gallagher that followed him.
  25. Not to mention Alan Jarrott, Shane Zantuck (via South Melb), Brent Crosswell and to a far lesser extent Xavier Tanner.
