Not surprised Melksham is back given I don't think there's really a small/mid typed forward who is knocking the door down at the moment. Might be a bit of best of a bad bunch. I'd expect Melksham will come out for Viney in a week or two anyway. Fingers crossed Bailey Laurie can play some good VFL footy in the second half of year, would play a similar role to Melksham. I would have kept Brown for a couple more weeks but understand the added mobility of Weid is enticing.

Does being played out of position contribute?

Cat's have been playing him up forward, must not trust him defensively which is interesting

Brown can do stuff all in a game yet still come away with a couple of goals, don't think Weid has that trait in him

Seems to be the trend this year to provide an overly conservative timeline, Fristch & May other examples. All of them had pretty obscure injuries though so difficult to gauge an exact timeline I guess.

Yes, we're missing out playing Jackson, Salem, Rivers in the midfield in very short bursts. I understand it's easier said than done tho as you need to temporarily restructure.

I think Viney out has highlighted the importance of a good 4th string mid in Harmes. He'll prove even more valuable when Jack is back and we play deeper midfields like the dogs, too.
