  1. For a political war started in Europe by an irrelevant assassination and arguably also led to a second politically motivated war. Many of our men were killed or maimed psychologically and physically for a war that was a terrible waste of human life for very questionable reasons. Dreadful decisions were made by aristocrat generals and politicians from England who were remote from the battlefields. Glorification of this is ridiculous. By the way, both of my grandfathers fought in the so-called First World War. I respect the men that went, but not the decision to send them. Marching soldiers, military logos and military bands on football grounds do not impress me. A world peace game would.
  2. All these fads are BS. Three square meals a day is normal and good for you.
  3. So why do we glorify that in “Anzac Day” war remembrance?
  4. I call on all the powers of darkness and the land of the demons to defeat the striped beasts of old at our homeland tomorrow.
  5. Agree wholeheartedly. more golf, less watching [censored]$ of this useless football club
  6. Given that their collective IQ is 1 it wouldn’t take much to boggle their minds.
  7. Weidemann to the Pies Where he’ll be a star and kick 500 goals
  8. At least we’ll give Carlton supporters some joy this year when they win their only game for the season against us.
  9. The exciting team of last year has turned into a rabble all running in different wrong directions.
  10. Do you only have one leg? Or do you mean his ankle is so bad that he’ll be hopping?
  11. Totally agree. The season is over as far as any meaningful premiership aspirations this year. We need to treat this season as a development opportunity for the team and our game plan. Unfortunately several players will retire at year’s end (at the very least Lewis, Garlett, Jones, and most likely Vandenberg due to ongoing injury). Recruitment needs to be top level for any chance of finals next year. Hawthorn and Geelong seem to be very good at this. Perhaps we could follow their example in recruitment and game plans? Also we need to be ruthless in delisting the many spuds, duds and lazy players in our team that have put us in this situation yet again. Is a proper training facility in Jolimont still on the cards? This could be helpful too. Or a training facility in our heartland eg the Malvern oval.
  12. This year so far reminds me of the Neeld and Bailey era. Especially reminiscent of when Brad Green was captain.
  13. I’m feeling very bad. But I guess the devil always feels bad.
  14. Brisbane were clearly improving last year and will be the team to watch rising through the ranks this year. They were impressive last night in every way. Hard tackling pressure, great skills, aggressive play, fast and hard running. They worked hard.
  15. Hawthorn were the standout team who dominated recent times. Clarkson was against contested possession as the prime means to win. Accurate passing, outside run and switching from one side of the ground to the other marked their style.
  16. That’s silly. Normally there’s a perfectly good train route from Cranbourne to Richmond.
