Jack Viney Extends Contract Until 2028
My 9yo has been a bit bereft with ANB leaving and the CP5 brouhaha. What number to put on his guernsey?! And I’ve been trying to decide on a number for my premiers Anzac guernsey. Number 7 it is!!!! (though I do like number 2 for Robbie)

GAMEDAY: Rd 23 vs Gold Coast
I was going to take my eldest 9yo to his first dees game and try and get a photo with Nibbler afterwards after he rang the eldest on a junior ring around. Unfortunately in Syd at brother in laws . was ambivalent about missing but woke up in northern rivers this morning to an absolutely cracking day, so now a bit cross we’re not going especially as it was the last chance to see Nibbler. go dees!

The Watch with Ben Gibson | Tom Morris
If true and if the story has come from his camp he may have scared Houston (and others?) off whatever your view of the Houston deal, it’s a suboptimal way of taking care of the club paying you a lot of $$

Is this for real? I find the alleged Macrae comment interesting. Nasty. Omg11111\/\/h@t about their c|_|Ltur3111111

What a coincidence there is talk of trading further into the future. first the afl mounts a wet lettuce prosecution of Maynard and the afl and club let Gleeson and McGuire off for their outrageous comments - as does our club - and now this I’ve just run out of tin foil Only half joking (I think?)

Good luck i wrote a constructive but plaintiff letter after the finals - highlighting how we responded to Maynard - nothing. I know I’m not owed a response but I’ve emailed Gary Pert before (before the 21 GF and got an obviously personal response immediately). I suspect membership may plummet next year Peter Ryan’s article today states she was bewildered at our position at the presidents lunch last week. Well. Aren’t we all!

I’m not complaining about the crowds at all, nor have I wrung my hands at Houston’s apparent about-face, nor ANB leaving, nor CP5s situation. In any case, it’s an observation of the near calamitous decline in living standards for a non trivial portion of the population and discretionary spending decisions.

Let’s be real here The economy is down the drain - 2/3 of people doing it tough, living standards down the drain. Kids’ (or your own), weekend sport, late night games (home late), cold weather. Lots of things on people’s minds. If going to watch fairly uninspiring football given the above isn’t at the to of peoples’ list, they can hardly be blamed.

This has at least enlivened the last few weeks of the year and the period leading into the draft! Rumour! *low voice* Intrigue! Catastrophes! *low voice* Mealy-Mouthed Machiavallian Media Malcontents Maliciously Manufacturing More Melbourne Misery Draft Excitement! * deep voice * More Melbourne Chaos

If it’s his mandate I have some serious questions for the coach.

The article:https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/behind-melbourne-s-fall-back-into-the-abyss-20240814-p5k2de.html 12ft.io is your friend. Paywalled on Firefox/iOS, not paywalled on Firefox/desktop. Firefox reader may help. An interesting article. I don’t begrudge Christian time in Noosa. He has a very serious incident. The comparison with Melksham is inapt in my view. This is a very, very, messy affair now. We have blown multiple shots at the flag and it’s difficult not to feel there’s something deeply amiss at present.

Sure It’s just one doesn’t want one to think one greedy The Qantas Club International Lounge staff already know that due to my proclivity for Chivas and coke (!) but I’ve got a reputation here to maintain. Sort of.
