the surprise was Kolt playing there i definitely dont think he did anything that stood out or even looked like a sign, certainly not with ball in hand, he made maybe 2 good spoils in the air but it was probably the bare minimum of a defender in a game of football hardly anything amazing also I must be watching a different game to everyone else on Howes, i really don't get the DL love affair with him, all his possessions come as a sweeper type deep operator switching the play, he has no defensive accountability and no contested game, he took an uncontested intercept mark or two but i really don't see it with him I agree Spaz was good Friday, issue being once Koz and Riv are back in mix and hes sent back to HF is that we get the same old same old, maybe he can run that culley/brayshaw narrow winger role and he's definitely more suited to being up the ground then say Fritta is despite their constant willingness to try it but i think even a latrelle would be more damaging as a HF up to stoppage than sparrow is I agree he's not up to it, but harsh to say did little, he played maybe 5 minutes maybe 10, not a large sample size out of 90mins

LTI 6 weeks plus used to be the old rules when Cat A rookies werent eligible for games until a senior spot opened up, there used to be instances of a player being in outstanding form but not being able to be called in because there were no senior injuries that met the criteria, or an inform player in the seniors having to be dropped because the LTI player was returning and no one else had been injured yet to effectively replace them on the LTI list. those rules were around 2006-2010 when i was learning footy iirc @dazzledavey36 @M_9 I just dont see why TC couldn't fulfill all the same roles this year (effectively a ruck coach) from teh inactive list, when hes 34 and in a neck brace so that we can get a 12 month head start on a younger developing player or grab a HB type whos ready made (although the Kolt move, and their continued selection of Howes sort of alleviates this concern of mine) we must be seriously pressed for salary cap though (paying Gus, Clarry and Goody in '26) to not have space for another 100k a year rookie to take either May or TCs spots Derksen will play afl footy at carlton almost immediately, its a shame we couldnt find a spot because Adams got so well beaten by Ah-Mu that theres almost no coming back from that plus May and Mcdonald are 34 and ooc this season, we will go from lots of depth to nil depth in the key back ranks between this year and next
