  1. I thought once he did it, it was dislocated. Wouldn’t be surprised that it was popped back in, in the rooms, then jabbed and strapped up to come back out. I reckon he’ll be forced to miss a couple unfortunately. But I hope I’m wrong.
  2. What’s been said? Sometimes I wonder if I’ve just got my one eye open but it’s interesting to hear other views from neutral supporters?
  3. Exactly. It is a requirement for players to talk to the media. Tmac is the right person to represent the Melbourne Football club to the media. Speaks clearly and passionately and doesn’t sugar coat anything.
  4. Yeah it’s true and I’d say it would’ve impacted his fitness. I got told last night at a family dinner and was surprised that he actually played after receiving that information. Its nothing serious and it won’t affect him this weekend. I haven’t been under a general since I was a kid but I’d say it takes a few days to be back to normal, which I probably say why he wasn’t at his best.
  5. Yeah no doubt. All I’m saying is people are freaking out that it’s his foot and not necessarily the knock he took a couple of weeks back, but you’re 100% right if he’s not 100% he should admit that and sacrifice himself for the betterment of the team.
  6. That’s a very good point. Jack might have been on the bench at the time but no else jumped in for Max. That’s when I knew we were in trouble. I mean where was the agro, where was the ‘c u next Tuesday’ in us. Very unlike Melbourne of 2018
  7. Maybe it’s not smoke and mirrors. Maybe leading up to the practice matches Jack was in really good nick until he got that cork on his knee. Lets not jump the gun here and think that it’s the end of the world. Let’s wait and see how he goes this weekend.
  8. Hard to know on Viney. Next game he could tear it apart. It may just to dust off the cobwebs. But I’m torn on him for next week. I actually thought he was on a treadmill in the third quarter. His legs seemed to moving but the body wasn’t. I think Preuss stays out. The cats looked pretty quick last night. Frost has to come out for May. Frost is a headless chook. KK for maybe Hore. Although I thought Hore settled more in the second half. I don’t think you can make too many changes after one game, but May is definitely one for Frost.
  9. I’m here as well standing where the rehabbers are. He just looks sore. He’s just mainly standing around doing some short kicks with the physio. Just as I say that he’s doing some laps
  10. How does that saying go? ‘Hit the nail on the head’. I couldn’t explain it any better than that.
  11. I guess we’ll have too agree to disagree on this one binman. You see it 100 times a game. All I’m saying is May used no force which is what the club is challenging.
  12. You can see from this image May has stopped. He is not moving forward, ready to anticipate whether Berry is going to handball, or even bulk and take him on. Since Berry has chosen to handball all May has done from here is turn his shoulder bracing for impact. The side on view shows May falling back after contact indicating his body weight or momentum has stopped. If May was running or had momentum forward, then the outcome would’ve been a lot worse. If May hadn’t of turned his body, there probably would’ve been a head clash, with both players either having a broken nose of both knocked out. May had 1 of three options. 1. Step aside and not impact the contest at all which probably breaks a team rule. 2. Stand there at the risk of both getting injured. 3. Turn and brace for contact, which is the option he took.
  13. I wonder what ‘look’ Christian considered when Mitchell elbowed Goldstein in the back of the head 100 metres away from the ball last year?
  14. And May’s right foot seems to be planted firmly on the ground at the point of impact.
  15. I’m with u 110%
  16. Coaches know when a player is in trouble but Goodwin was confident about May having nothing to answer for. Difference between bumping and bracing. If May was bumping, Berry wouldn’t have woken up yet.
  17. I’m not saying taking someone out intentionally. You can stand in their path and block their run. That’s all May was doing. He stood his ground and braced for contact. Berry did nothing at all to move out of the way of where May was standing. May turned to brace for contact and that’s it. You can see after contact, the momentum of May’s body went backward. If May had’ve lined him up and had his body weight going toward Berry, May would’ve end up standing over Berry or even falling over Berry after contact. Even Goodwin said he expected May to be right for round one. So I’m and many others on here are not the only ones to be slightly miffed about the decision.
  18. What do u expect him to do? Jump out of the way? Goodwin would’ve given him more than one week for doing that. You are allowed to block/body check a player from running through to receive the handball. There was no force for what May did. All he did was brace himself.
  19. Even think of Burton on Higgins last year.
  20. If Mummy can get off for his roundhouse to the head then May should get off for bracing himself for contact. Berry should be charged for trying to charge May ?
  21. I saw Burton do worse on Higgins last year and got off. Come to think of it did he even get a fine? MRO won’t even look at it.
  22. Jaded, didn’t you know if you pick it up and drop it like a hot potato while being tackled is ok, but picking it up and being tackled immediately by 3 opponents and trying to get rid of it is holding the ball lol ?
  23. This Pruess fella must play for another team. You wouldnt think fans from the team he plays for would be bagging him on a public forum. That would be a bit, umm, low wouldn’t it? But not us Melbourne supporters. We’re better than that!
  24. I agree Moon. I reckon he’ll have a breakout year. He played some good games toward the end of last year and he was just about our best in the practice match last week. He looked the goods today.
