  1. All the best Jade - thank you for all you have done - maybe we will see you back as our senior coach one day.
  2. FFS, I read that article and think just how deluded are these guys. Oliver, Brayshaw, Viney and Harmes have egos the size of the MCG and despite the magnificent efforts of Max, these midfielders have been abysmal for us this year. These are the guys that should be setting the standards for the team. Come to think of it, maybe they did. A huge dose of tough love from the coaching staff is required.
  3. seen it all now. Spargo takes the kick out against the wind.
  4. Haha Clint - do you ever comment about anything else?
  5. Personally BBO I’d never use the words “flogging” and “head” in the same sentence - unless I really meant it.
  6. After a disastrous set of predictions for 2019, I’m predicting that I won’t make any 2020 predictions.
  7. Having one verbally polished representative to cover for one that certainly aint.
  8. It would be just like MFC to thrash North on Saturday showing the form we wanted to see all year.
  9. I think Jack is a very limited football player. The only role that I think fits the skill set he does have is a run with / shut down role. Mind you, he would need to leave his ego back in the change room for him to play this role well. But with no ego, I believe he could well become one of the best shut down players in the comp. Of course, all this assumes he is fit.
  10. Lyon is blessed with a very public forum to express his views. And those views simply express the bitter disappointment he feels towards the current set up at the club he shed blood and tears for. Who could blame him? Thank god most of us DL’s don’t have that same public forum - the tone would be a hell of a lot worse. I’m sure however that Lyon doesn’t believe that we “will never come good”.
  11. Question for Bayley - what's his diet secret for keeping so slim? - i need to try it. Also, if he needs to put on some weight, I have a proven technique to do so. Thank you.
  12. Is there no limit to your negativity? For the sake of your own health would you please go an support a winning team.
  13. not sure I agree on your changes, but luved your last line
  14. If that is true Steve then bring on the end of the year.
  15. No he’s played the last 2 games
  16. How must Hore be feeling after 2 or 3 very good games at Casey, to still be behind Oscar in the pecking order - for god knows what reason. To miss out on playing against his old club must be adding to his frustration. Can someone please justify his non selection?
  17. I am shocked that Hore is not in and that OMac remains in. But 2019 has been shocking anyway, so I guess no surprise.
  18. I have a theory about our demise this year, and it all revolves around “confidence” ( and a little about injury) Our game plan revolves around “attack”, but we simply do not or can not set up defensively behind the ball when we take it forward. Our attacking players now have the added pressure of knowing that if they miss a target, no one is set up defensively behind them, and it’s most likely the opposition will freely rebound and score a goal. Instead of feeling confident someone has their back, they are simply facing a life and death situation every time they dispose of the ball. In short they sh it themselves and boy does it show. When Roos came to the club his game plan was based on defence. And he slowly taught us how to attack only once we knew how to defend. I think our game plan has put aside the defensive skills (behind the ball) in preference for all out attack - which can only work if we hit our targets. My solution for the rest of the year would be to concentrate on defensive set ups behind the ball, and therefore provide the player forcing an attacking play with the confidence that if he does miss a target , it ain’t gonna be the end of the world. No team of afl standard footballers displays the abysmal skills that our team has displayed this year - not without a valid reason. Our players are not unskillful - they are simply displaying those traits. I think that is due to a lack of confidence, due to defensive faults in our game plan. For what it’s worth. -
  19. I’m no Level 4 coach so forgive me if I am missing something, but my game plan would be: 1. Win the ball 2. Hit a target 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 I know it’s a bit complicated, so it will take a bit of adjusting to, but I reckon we’ve got about 6 months to adapt for next season. Happy if someone wants to pass this onto Goody.
  20. Come on LG. Hold your fire. I admire Scarlett for his honesty. I think that doco was extremely powerful in making us all question our definition of racism. Scarlett has questioned his and I have certainly questioned mine. It’s so easy to see examples of racism in another country. But it’s hard to acknowledge it when it’s so close to home, and when it’s something that we haven’t been really challenged on before. Scarlett specifically asked the question “am I a racist?”. I gave my thoughts. I also realise I have been just as guilty in the past. So no ego involved, but agree with you , let the healing begin.
  21. If you don’t like Adam Goodes as a footballer, then you are a poor judge of a player, but nothing more. If you don’t like Adam Goodes as a person then, unless you have met him and know him personally, then I think there is a good chance that you are a racist.
  22. Thank god footy is just a game - or we’d all be taking this losing caper so seriously. F’ing MFC.
  23. Came across this little ditty. It reminded me of someone: Pity The Bitter Optimist Pity the bitter optimist, He wants to rant and shake his fist, But just can’t seem to bring himself to do so, He doesn’t want to think the best, He knows the world’s completely messed, From his mouth it never quite rings true though, He’s certainly no giddy fool, Thinks cynical is kind of cool, But is cursed to always find the silver lining, He’s tried to practice sneer and scowl, Even worked up an evil growl, Still he knows somewhere the sun is always shining, He makes his outside sort of tough, Wears shades and reads the darker stuff, But somewhere inside lives Little Orphan Annie, He’s even tried to turn to drink, He thought it’d make him mean I think, Found his ability to laugh is near uncanny, So if you are pessimistic, I’m afraid to him it won’t stick, Despite the twisted ruse he tries so oft to borrow, Yes his charade is oh so thin, For very much to his chagrin, He can’t help but hope for better things tomorrow.
