  1. not that there is anything wrong with that ...
  2. How would you know that SWYL? Are you an ex MFC player?
  3. Hey Werridee, thanks for your efforts today, much appreciated. But tell me, what happened to the great depth we are supposed to have (not including the extra VFL players)? It doesn't sound like any of these guys will be pushing for senior selection any time soon.
  4. Haha smart, except when he thinks he can kick a goal from the 50m mark!
  5. He certainly was impressive Ernie. And I think a lot of the credit for allowing Goodie to be his best has to go initially to Gary Pert and subsequently to Richo for the way they project managed the football department in setting up the structures, together with the right personnel for the right spots, which freed Goodie to do what he does best. I don't think Pert and Richo have received, from outside of the Club, the due credit that they deserve.
  6. After an incredibly emotional week, “Momentum” just caps it off in a positive way. I don’t think I have a tear left to shed.
  7. I luv Trac, who gets comparisons with great players like Dusty and Danger. But I really luv Oli, who is so unique, I cannot think of one player he can be compared to, past or present. He is that “special”.
  8. Loved this from Brydon Coverdale: "It's hard to imagine the cricket world without Warne in it. But then, it was hard to imagine music without John Lennon, or the royal family without Princess Diana, or basketball without Kobe Bryant. True icons leave holes of iconic proportions. But still, the world turns. Australian cricket goes on in Rawalpindi. Cricket existed before Warne and it exists after him. But few people have left such an indelible mark on the game. Warne was a cricketing genius. You can't do him justice with mere words. It's like using interpretive dance to sum up Albert Einstein's contributions to science. All you can do is sit back and marvel that such a person existed. And be thankful to have witnessed a genius at work".
  9. I would encourage everyone to watch the Warnie special that Howie has put together on Fox/ Kayo. Just a superb celebration of his life, and what a wonderful man he really was.
  10. Marshie is probably saying to him "let it RIP Warnie!"
  11. Luci, after listening twice, nowhere did Pert say the perpetrator has left the club. That’s just a conclusion that the posters on here have drawn (which may yet turn out to be correct), but we shouldn’t be putting words into Perts mouth that he didn’t say.
  12. Huge shock. Condolences to his family and to all those fortunate enough to be considered his friend. A larger than life character with an immense cricket brain and a unique talent, that will be sorely missed. RIP SK Warne.
  13. Dworship, I have a sneaky suspicion you knew when you started this thread what childish humour it would generate from all of us.
  14. Haha - I think you have enjoyed this topic a little too much D. (and I’m not looking for a smart rebuttal from you on this)
  15. Much appreciated Red - now just submit a match report before you leave.
  16. None of them. Weid was picked in the side with them. Probably play a half here and a half tonight. Good luck to him.
  17. I thought Sam was picked to play tonight?
  18. There is an old saying that “you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink”. But in your case, you haven’t even led us to the water. This is a disgraceful post imo.
  19. Would luv to have seen a line up for this match!?! surely at 2 hours before game time a team sheet can be reported!
  20. Mach5: "My concern is utilising the opportunities to generate further longterm successes". Luv to hear your recommendations on what additional "opportunities we could be chasing to generate further successes".
  21. Fisherman’s Bend - again?
  22. I think the Dees would be crazy not to offer her the same role. If she has her mind set on coaching as opposed to her current midwifery vocation then it wouldn’t surprise me if she and the Dees are already having talks. But I said the same thing about Nev Jetta and we couldn’t find a role for him., so what would I know?
  23. A lot of interesting comments on here about Gus and his future since the announcement that he is delaying contract renewal talks. What is more interesting is that there were none of these same thoughts and comments about Gus before the announcement. Pre announcement: "what a great year Gus has had, particularly the finals"; "what a great role player Gus has developed into and how important he and his role is in the team", etc. Post announcement: "Gus wants more mid time and is looking elsewhere to get it"; "Gus wants more money"; "Gus is overpaid for a role player and has to take a pay cut so that we can keep Jacko and Oli" etc Is this our MFCSS resurfacing? Let's perhaps chill a bit and see what pans out. FWIW, I'd be very surprised if he has even considered looking elsewhere.
  24. Why are you , and a few others, convinced that Gus wants a media career post playing? He is currently studying finance (?) at Uni. I see him more the successful business tycoon as opposed to a media man.
  25. I was very surprised our extended interchange guys got so little time on the ground. Why have an extended bench if you are not going to use them? Given the level of opposition today, it seemed to me the perfect time to give good game time to the likes of Hunt, Weid, etc. Maybe the mantra this year is that if you want to play in the 22 you are really going to have to earn it.
