Yes l agree with you there, However they won those games although the opposition looked slow. Is that the way it works? So if we win on the G next time we play is it because we are not slow anymore? Let's wait and see how we go at the G against Bulldogs, G Coast, SYD and GWS. and and get a better idea. There are a whole lot of reasons why we are not playing well. A win will help. Whats above the shoulder is where the confidence comes from.
-
Its not that the players are unfit, they lack confidence. We beat the Saints merley 6 weeks ago we Didn't look slow then. Need to get the balance right. Players are fit however you see it. It is amazing what a win can do.

SIMON GOODWIN YOUR FUGAZI IS NOT WORKING. CAN YOU PLEASE UNFUGAZI AND LISTEN TO WHAT THE SUPPORTERS ARE SAYING! PLEASE!.......
-
When Vince started with us in 2014 the kid was maybe 14 yo? he has come a long way since. However it is a big jump to play in a key position in defence coming from VFL footy. The shonky left foot kick was off the side of the boot a grubber and there was no pressure on him. l was gobsmacked. I must have missed something as he was nowhere near anyone at the time. He had nowhere to hide. Once you cross the white line you have to be able to take the criticism. .
-
Then l will start a petition against Goodwin to bring in Frosty . However l will have to UNFUGAZI so he will listen.
-
Simon Goodwin What has Sam Frost done to you? Stands at 194cm runs and breaks the lines big bodied and certainly can play and can make mistakes just like the ones that don't take chances and that is even a bigger mistake. I have a feeling he has to be played because he has been playing consistently well. Petty was not ready to play in his debut game as he was certainly overawed and made some dumb mistakes. Certainly not a key position back at the minute. Joel Smith has played 6 career games and doesn't look ready at all another replacement for Lever. Simon what the censored are you thinking? FUGAZI FUGAZI FUGAZI FUGAZI????????????????????????? Well UNFUGAZI and listen, you have a ready replacement for Lever in Frost and he has to play....... UNFUGAZI and bring back some experience . Petty 1 game and J Smith 6 both playing in the backline today didn't have an understanding to switch play in defence which slowed us down going forward and certainly helped to cost us the game. I can elaborate but l am so gutted l have lost faith and l speak for myself only. Simon Goodwin and his merry men you are doing my head in..

Nathan Jones has plenty to go and being captain or not is not the issue here. A captain is a leader and he fullfils that part very well as does Jack. They both lead by example. The issue is our selection and team balance . However if you saw any of the game you would not be pleased with Petty's performance. However it was not the Lads fault being selected in a key position at the age of 18.Joel smith not ready to play and is not a key position as well and lacks confidence. Poor Frost one of the best again, for Casey? what did he do wrong not to get a game in front of the two i have mentioned. No more to say because l am gutted with the result and sword should fall on Goodwin.

Is Jeffy Garlett just trade bait now?
nosoupforme replied to YesitwasaWin4theAges's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jeffy is one good game with endeavour and a few goals away from breaking back into the side. However it will be enough to reignite his season and l believe that is what they are hoping for. He is the kind of player that plays with confidence. Hopefully he can produce the goods against Essendon in the VFL this Saturday. Need him back. -
Well done Trenners we my Family are so over the moon for you.and to still be on the journey as an AFL footballer is a testament to you. I am hoping not only you have a fantastic game but string many games together and to be the turning point of your career. Proud of you as l know that many others are as well. You will give it your all as you did for our great club. May all go well for you Trenners. .

I can remember when Roos took over and in a period of time he realised how scarred the culture was and also mentally not tough enough. I am not going to elaborate. However we have come a long way in building good foundations and l am so proud of them now to the way we used to be that we have improved every year since Roos took over as coach. Now Goodwin is doing a fine job and I believe we are just around the corner in being successful.

We cannot win every game as we sit 8 W 5L. However the game against Port to me was gutsy and there were circumstances also gut wrenching l am sure for many of us. We are good enough for sure as we still have time for the FD to rectify team balance as our Casey side is sitting equal Top of the ladder. If we win the next 3 games against the Saints, Freo and the Doggies, which l believe we should, then the test will come against Geelong away and Adelaide away as well. You will be able to judge for yourself by the time we play Geelong if we have a chance of being in a good position to consolidate ourselves in the 8 and hopefully chase the 4. I believe we are good enough. We have to have some faith. Go Dees!

Change your game Jesse Crash the packs again and make the opposition crap themselves. 5 marks 5 kicks and 5 goals and that is 5 poss for the game. Anything more is a bonus. We are not asking for much. COME ON !!!!!!!!!!!!! Just do it.

Atleast you are sane and make good sense...... and l am being serious.

Lets not get too carried away with many changes however we need the right personnel. I believe that and many would because it is obvious that one tall backman with speed and carry and can break the lines in Frost has to be given the chance now. It doesn't mean that Petty isn't ready. The 18 y o is ready to be given the chance as well. He was the carry over to the P A game. The Weed will replace Tim smith for mine as his 7 goals and playing in the Ruck as well was again a positive game for him. I like to see the speed of Oskar Baker however he isn't far away and Garlett is worth the chance for speed and experience. I believe that Stretch has put in a period of consistent form and looks a good chance as well. INS. Weed, stretch, Frost or Petty. Out Tim Smith, Joel Smith, ANB

To Timbo, for sooth l say unto you verily verily the next three combats. AND YONDER !
-
A week at a time as the saying goes. However who says that we may need 14 games to make it? It may work out that we make it with less wins. I believe we will make it as the guys are determined. Furthermore, we need one big bodied backman which is the solution. Frost deserves a go.
-
Well when you get 19 frees to PA and only 7 to Melbourne, after half time then they do play a part and 2 frees in front for goals and very iffy to PA.. However you look at it ??? Lewis gets his head pulled off no free in the forward pocket? Well please yourself. That's fine. I will leave it at that. Gut Wrenching ! Not sour, just not fair. Good luck to the Interstate sides.

Give credit to Melbourne regardless of the loss. We are growing and we will be thereabouts this year and many years to come. Even though l and many of us are feeling Gutted . Jack Viney you are a super star. Proud of all the guys.
-
Yes l agree that Bob Murphy would be a good bloke he looks it .However he was not a Robert Flower type or played his footy like he did. Robert Flower was in a class of his own. RIP.
-
JW knows football is not the be all end all. However disillusioned as he may have been, he never had a mentor or someone like a teammate to look up to help him nurture him, whatever the case. Melbourne was a basket case for years. Neeld made it worse. Now we have a team at 8 and 4 andsome of our supporters are not happy. So lets pick on JW. What a shame.
-
If Kent gets himself right soon enough and maybe after the break he has the potential to break a game open. Shows that he can kick multiple goals and gathers possessions consistently when he is on. A nuggety player however, he is injury prone. I hope he stays as he still has time on his side. He could be the X factor.
-
I wouldn't want to be at any Melbourne game with you. You must be one miserable SOD! Are you sure you are not a CLOSET COLLINGWOOD SUPPORTER? Pity.
-
Jack Watts one of my favourites leave the guy alone he has been knocked pillar to post by many and the so called who know that , are the one's that put there own team down once it loses a game. NFI RATBAGS. Some of you have to do some growing.
-
Our performances up to now has been very good considering the loss we had against Collwd. 8 is a good score and l believe that is a fair assessment where we stand at the moment with an 8/4 win loss so far. TMAC is in outstanding form and there are many others that have helped to put us in this position like a Brayshaw. Charlie Spargo a first year draftee has the smarts and will be a valuable asset and reminds me of a Brent Harvey type. The Adelaide win was a 4 quarter display of powerhouse football by far our best display against a Grand finalist side. The most disappointing loss was against Hawthorn as l believe the first quarter we played some unbelievable footy which looked unbeatable and then to capitulate l was gobsmacked, Words could not describe my feelings. There are several players that need to improve to have a say in atleast this year going deep into the finals, however the one person that has to have a good look at himself is Dom Tyson who is talented enough to reach elite status for his age and experience. Where do we finish is a good question, l believe that 15 plus games is a possibility thinking with up the top and not with my heart. Furthermore the Friday week game will be a big one against the Power and we have to be more focused from now on. We are good enough. We can finish in the Top 4.
