Love Claz, but I’m pretty sure whoever the greatest player of the modern era is knows how to kick.

Rory Sloane to the Dees as Assistant Coach?
Cool, so Goody wants one of his mates to come aboard. No coaching experience? Who cares, they can figure it out. The important thing is Goody and Sloane have lots of shared learnings to get nostalgic about Oh and number one defender of “the camp”. Keep him away.

Or it just makes Oliver look devious.

Have received a few texts from non-MFC mates in the last half hour. Bit unnerving.

2024 AFL Grand Final
I’m not saying it’s impossible, but for the Swans to redeem themselves it now requires an astonishing feat of self-belief. If they were to even make another GF with this squad, the game-day nerves would be paralysing. If their losses were close (or even just “competitive”), it would be a totally different story.

2024 AFL Grand Final
This Swans squad needs to be completely dismantled, and the parts sold off. To embarrass yourselves so profoundly for the second time on the big stage…why would you even want to risk it happening again?

Trade Targets
Hmmm, he signed an extension with Port late last year that sees him there till end of 2026, so we wouldn’t get him until 2027.

Training Ground?
Folks decrying the various negative reactions to this news certainly have a point. It is obviously a step in the right direction. But even though I’ve seen our lack of base as the most glaring stain on our club’s metaphorical tuxedo, any potential jubilation is tempered by the fact that this is a solution to a tediously-long problem that should have never occurred in the first place.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
I’m enjoying how this thread is becoming like the end of a Scooby Doo episode.

One of the greatest deceptions ever pulled off was the Catholic Church convincing society that Mother Theresa was in any way remotely, a “good person”. She was in actual fact, a psychopathic grifter with a penchant for other people’s suffering. Anyway, as you were….

Indeed he does. However I’m not sure what “the best” from Trac is going to look like, considering what I imagine will be a far-from-ideal pre-season for him. He’s in a tough spot if he wants to move on. Unless he miraculously pulls off a blinding season, he’ll be a 30 year-old player with a question mark over his head.

Is this actually Joe Rogan?

I look forward to reading some book in twenty years that actually tells me what’s been happening at the club for the last three.

It’s certainly possible to use social media and despise it at the same time.

Whatever the result, the whole clusterfudge has given rise to: ”Brand Petracca” A new nickname that he will wear like a heavy velvet cape (that he got at Cash Converters).

As much as I believe a review should take place, Joe Gutnick is the last person who should be demanding any kind of moral culpability, anywhere.

Email from Peter Lawrence
I can handle that if I must, but do not dare to invade the sacred space between my gymnasium and the company I bought some adhesive patches from seven years ago.

Email from Peter Lawrence
I am a little weirded-out by the affronted reactions to receiving an unsolicited email in 2024.

I’m a bit annoyed because if I’d paid him his 2Gs, I could have made $1100 by selling his poster and Shiraz back to him. Also, we would have been treated to a “30 min talk” which I’m sure would have just flown by.

I emailed him a few years back (at the end of what I’m assuming was a long night), asking what his rate was to MC my birthday party.

We just delisted Schache. I’d otherwise post it in the relevant forum, but let’s face it, we’re all here right now. Anyway, back to Trac. The “elevating the brand” theory is bizarre. Not suggesting it’s untrue, but definitely suggesting his “brand” stands to simply become “arrogant, fickle, petulant Mummy’s boy” if he doesn’t do the necessary damage control. I’d say phase one of this elevation is losing your regular gig on AFL 360, with more general ridicule from the football world at large to follow.

Trac probably doesn’t, no. Younger players absolutely would, and learn quickly that it’s not advisable.

It’s funny, I was just thinking about Trac’s fondness for the NBA. I like the b-ball some, but one toxic quality of that league is how much disregard is shown for contracts, and how much the “I” is prevails in what’s supposed to be a team sport. There’s a lot of gross americanisation creeping into the game, but this is one of the more destructive elements of it.

Some uncomfortable reading in this thread. Maybe keep his partner out of the discussion. He’s ultimately the one in charge of his own fate.
