It's very annoying. The only ones building us up are the media, and then they will be the ones to say we were over-confident and cocky when we lose. I'd much prefer to be going under the radar. But we are the story of the finals, so it was bound to happen.

Every single news article is about us. Hawks flying under the radar. They didn't finish top 4 without reason. I'm nervous about this build up. The gloating Hawks supporters will be unbearable if we lose this.

Heard rumours Hibbo looks sore and isn't training with the group. Hoping to hear some reports on that!

There is a post claiming McEvoy is every bit as influential as Gawn and that Harmes and Petracca B-Grade spuds.

There's a brave Demon soul trying to educate them on the BF board but you'd have more luck smashing your head against a brick wall. I suppose their confidence is well earned after years of success but I just can't imagine feeling that confident every week. They keep saying how if it wasn't wet on the weekend they would have rolled the Tigers, but clearly if it wasn't wet they would have lost by 70+. Some amazingly over-confident Hawks supporters getting around.

I received a heap of texts after Hannan’s goal saying it was over, but didn’t relax until weideman’s 3rd. That was the final nail for mine.

I have been struck down with swine flu (apparently that’s still a thing) so won’t be able to attend my planned event this evening. On the flip side I didn’t have to spend 8 hours pretending to work today. Hopefully Melbourne’s own swine pig hibberd plays a blinder tonight and we smash them off the park. Not sure my tv will survive another close loss to Geelong, especially if I have to look at Tom Hawkin’s [censored]-eating grin too many times.

Hopefully the team who played WCE and GWS show up, and not the team who played Sydney. Really hope we have left the whole ‘go to [censored] on the big and important stage’ in the past, and this new breed of demons can stand up when it matters.

I know this question gets asked a lot but I never pay attention to the answers. Where is a good pub in Melbourne to have a parmy and pint before the game? Somewhere where there might be some other Melbourne supporters?

Just changed my flights around and will be attending the game. First home and away match for me this year. I'm stoked! Intrigued to see what happens at selection tonight. Tipping one change only. Melksham if fit, Wagner if not. Such a massive game! Sick of being pushed around by this mob, really hope Oliver, Trac and the new guard give them a pantsing.

We could go on all day too couldn’t we? That’s the sad part.

I wouldn't care if we had to play on the moon in week one of the finals, I must want to see the team play a God Damn final for once in my life.

Can look at the weekend's results two ways. Scary as hell because we can still easily miss the 8, or as a massive opportunity to rise up the ladder. Go dees!

Brad Green was a gun cricketer. I believe he represented Australia at an underage level, might even have been captain. I played a game of schoolboys cricket against him in College and he hit about 180 odd. Crushing everything out of the middle. He also took a hanger on me in Under 18s footy. If he didn't end up at the Dees I would have hated him I reckon!

No way Trac and ANB miss, so we have Kent, Hunt, Pederson, Spargo, J. Smith, T. Smith fighting for two spots. Reckon J Smith stays, but is on notice with Hunt coming straight into the squad. Spargo or Kent to fight for the last spot.

Regret not taking my Geelong supporting mate up on his offer of double or nothing on the bet we had on the game in round 1.

It seems to be a real thing though. Eagles used to dominate Subiaco with their "Weagles Web", but were picked apart at the MCG, particularly by the Hawks with their amazing foot skills. Now they are playing on their new home ground with similar dimensions to the MCG and are 2-0 at the 'G this year (albeit a small sample size). Are they a better side now? Is it a coincidence?

Does anyone else think the narrower ground will suit us? We seem to able to defend the narrower Etihad (128.8m) much better than the MCG (141m). GMHBA stadium is much narrower again (115m) so might suit our style? Just a thought.

Can't stand that bloke. Reminds me of a younger, better looking Craig Hutchison. Smug, feigns outrage, sensationalist. can't watch anything with him on it.
