NON MFC: Rd 03 2021
Amazing what the AFL will do to keep the Swans relevant. In the space of a pre season they have become top 4 certainties and skipped 5-10 years of hard yards that other clubs have to do without zone academy picks. They knew their cycle was coming to an end so instead of losing the sydney bandwagon market lets create a conveyor belt of talent through an Academy, change the draft system to suit them to select Academy talent to keep them in contention. Makes me sick.

NON MFC: Rd 03 2021
Ben Brown and Majak must be counting their lucky stars they are out of that joint. I can only see them beating 2 teams this year, Essendon or the Giants. #Doomed #Nevertobeseenagainonfreetoair #Soulless #Tasmaniaawaits

Darren Burgess Being Poached
Always the way isn't it. Was always on the cards. As long as its a smooth transition.

Max Gawn
When our Forward line gets one or both of Big Ben and Weid in due course, we are going to be a leviathan beast of a team. The way our defensive mechanisms are operating currently it's a real pleasure to watch with Gawn playing a kick behind play in defence alongside May, Lever and Tommo.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
The standing on the mark rule has been really beneficial for us especially as we are not overthinking where the next passage of play should open up. We are playing whats in front of us with less time to kick through congested midfield zones. If there is space we are attacking it, if not we are hitting short targets until other spaces open up to exploit. ANB seems less hesitant than in previous years as he can play on quick and chisel kicks without worrying about the man on the mark. We seem alot more controlled and measured. Maxy playing a kick behind play for periods is making us impenetrable in stages throughout games which is making us difficult to play against.

CHANGES: Rd 03 vs GWS
I can't remember the last time we have gone in No Change, would have to have been in 2018 at some stage. It's a no brainer really, you don't break up a winning formula, unless an injury comes along.

Its our fortress, people still don't understand. Stereotyping at its finest.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
He's starting to grow on me Jimmy Jordon along with Sparrow.?? Biggest thing I've taken away from last week and last night has been our tackling pressure inside forward 50, we racked up 15 last week and last night we notched up 12. This new dimension that has been added to this multi faceted team will take us deep if we can sustain it. St.Kilda wilted under pressure and it was no more evident when there best ball user Hill was missing targets from the percieved pressure that was generated from the Dees mosquito fleet. It has been long overdue, it was immense, i loved every minute of it and long may it continue.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
Over rated till the cows come home, flat track bullies, down hill skiers not an ounce of midfield defensive pressure amongst them.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
Have to clean up our entries into 50 and our finishing no doubt about it. Smashed them in close and in the center clearances. Sign Clarry and Tracc ASAP for F sakes Dees hirarchy. Bartlett, Pert get the pair locked away. Tommo proving the doubters wrong and living up to his contract.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
Scrappy win, not complaining, convert a third of our missed shots and its a 40-50 point win. End of mini rant go and get plastered. Go you mighty F'n Dees???

How Important was Spargo
I credit his new girlfriend in turning him around, he's alot more calmer and measured theses day. Well done Charlie, your on a winner.?????

Why we beat St.Kilda
They will be heavy legged after today's slogfest with BWS, we have had an extra day and a half to recover, slept in their own beds. Need to get off to a fast start like Saturday, dominate the center clearances and expose their biggest weakness which is their defence. Toby Green and Himmelberg in particular caused Saints all sorts of problems today, hopefully our defensive structure stands up to their quick ball movement and forward mobility.

Clayton Oliver Contract negotiations
Gawn is our El Capitano and our Best Player, Followed by Clarry, Petracca, May, Lever in no particular order. He's a two time best and fairest, All Australian and needs to be paid accordingly. My guess is he's thinking about doing a Dusty and let his football do the talking in a Contract year. With all that has happened in the footballing landscape with footy cap restrictions, a 2-3 year deal would suffice. I would have him at around 800-850k a season, length of contract completely up to the powers that be. Other clubs like Carlton and Essendon can offer him a mammoth contract that we can't compete with, it's about offering a contract that values his worth to the club, this is key to be in line or slightly above May, Lever Big Ben, Tmac etc. Im hoping the club have a strategy to have similar Contracts for Trac and Clarry on parity with Gawn, they are the pillars of the club. If the club low ball him or we fall into a hole on-field he will take top dollar being offered. Both Carlton and Peptides would have been trickling in his ear since last year about a massive deal and other deals thrown into the mix.

Chasing down a 90s puma shirt
Great top that is Alex, unfortunately i can't help mate. While this thread is open on this topic of merchandise, i was after an adidas jacket worn in the 1988 season. If anyone knows of this jacket and anyone willing to sell that would be greatly appreciated a Large would suffice.

Farewell Oscar McDonald
Its in the genes to play in the forward line, amazing what a new environment can do.

What they're saying down at Cockburn Central
Would love to see Clarry pushed into the Forward line for resting spurts if his shoulders are up to it.

Good observation Daz.

TRAINING: Monday 15th March 2021
Going from the pictures, Big Ben trained in sneakers, might not be ready to train in boots. Doesn’t look like he joined in the main session. Could be wrong just my observation.

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs Fremantle
Plus the two players coming off half back through the guts also benefited us. Since 6-6-6 we haven't been the same.

Mark Maclure "Soft Culture" Comments
Unfortunately this is going to be the case going forward, comments like McClure's will only intensify after a couple of dodgy performances. I hope this doesn't happen for the sake of the club i love, but the wolves will be waiting at the door for Goodwin and Co. The only club in the competition without a purpose built complex/Facility that houses our whole club administration and all that jazz. No Casey /Gosch's Paddock aren't purpose built facilities for our club. This is a contributing factor not the only factor in our weak culture spiritually, team harmony, whole club togetherness. This is not a cop out for what the players are producing from a footy perspective far from it, but is the group excited about training down at Casey? or walking 300 meters across Gosch's paddock to go to and from our changing rooms to go to training. So what are players like Clarry and Trac thinking when its contract time?stay at the MFC because of our great culture its a club which has great facilities where we walk 300m to train or travel an hour to train at Casey. These will be real life factors for these two and our other young guns going forward. Theses are the little things our club unfortunately has to contend with placing us futher behind the 8 ball. When will this ever change? could still be years away. Culture is all encompassing, its not just on the ground and with in the playing group, its your whole entire club. Yes the MCG is our home ground and was our "home" a long time ago but we've been soulless for long enough. Welcome to the ugly side of our club culture.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Bulldogs
Petty has got to play Forward, we need another target form permitting.
