Chris Judd thinks we celebrated too hard.
Don’t worry about Juddy. He will be 6 feet under by 40. I know I would be if I was married to his missus.

Petracca in a rut?
I was highly critical of him a while back but he seems a little more grounded now. He seems to seek and crave the “attaboy” comments and is still immature in many ways. I think he lacks some self belief deep down and see him as a work in progress still requiring a rocket up his rear. When things finally fall into place for young Christian he will be virtually unstoppable. Massive up side.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 22
To all you "supporters" who predicted we'd lose today, welcome back to the bandwagon. Try staying on it this time.

GAMEDAY - Round 22
Coach, with such sublime clinical execution of a very difficult task based on one solitary attempt, you should be up in the box next to Goody after providing the team with a motivational rev up pre game. The message - “how hard can it be to execute a skill even under immense pressure?” Well done sir. Generations of dads salute you!

Watts Dropped from Port
No. He was a boy who had his confidence smashed early, was never given the appropriate support and consequently failed to develop into the player he could have been as a result.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Firstly, Brown and Daniher are FF’s. Buddy traditionally plays at CHF. But regardless, game day match ups are horses for courses. Frost to Franklin last week is the perfect example. Jonathan Brown, one of the modern era’s best forwards has been highly critical of Hogan’s positioning and leading methods and it’s hard to disagree with. He can get away with it against the lesser quality defenders but struggles again the better opponents. Perhaps playing at CHB would give him the opportunity to study the techniques of the competitions best key position forwards close up and learn from them. He is big, strong, agile and has a good tank. We are in desperate need of a quality key defender and Jesse could fit the bill until he is more prepared to take up a forward role. It certainly didn’t do David Neitz any harm. In direct contrast to you, I’d rather keep Jesse Hogan and try him at CHB than get another mid. Our current group of midfielders seem to do ok I think....

Farewell Jesse Hogan
JackDeMan makes some very good points. People forget that Jesse was AA CHB as a junior player.

Good player in a great team. Not a “champion” for mine. Better players? Hmmm....KB, Daicos, even Jeff Farmer perhaps?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY
Mate, you are a legend. You remember the first three performances of a then unknown Carlton kid from 15 years ago and that he showed “heart”? Gimme a break FCS.

FMD. Bet Carlton are happy they didn't flick Kade Simpson after his first 3 games which were all zero possessions.

Petracca in a rut?
He has allowed himself to get caught up in the hype that has surrounded him from day 1 which has consequently shot his ego through the roof. He is still immature psychologically and I believe that that penny has only just dropped. He is now starting to question himself and self-analysing (which isn’t a bad thing). This period of uncertainty has been reflected in his performances over the past couple of months. Continuing to play him in the senior team will only exacerbate the problem. He needs to sit down with the club psychologist for some D & M’s and play at Casey until he shows he has (a) returned to planet earth and (b) Is consistently playing 4 quarters of team-oriented football.

A Day at the Races
Lovani lining up at Doomben in race 2. Bit of a nibble for it this morning. Likes to race on the pace too which is an advantage at Doomben today. Fine morning here in Brisbane although a few clouds building in the south. Might cop a shower or two later this morning but shouldn’t have any bearing on track conditions. The Gold Coast may cop a bit of rain though.

A Day at the Races
It’s the second time in a week that The Bostonian has been scratched. Had a shocking gate last week too. When the rail is out at Doomben it makes it even more difficult for those drawn wide. Still, keep an eye out for it. Dane Thunder similarly drew wide but usually not an issue at Sandown. That mail came from somebody very closely connected to the horse too. Yeah, Dafeenah comes via a very reliable source. Was $9 in this mornings (Brisbane) paper. Tongue tie on may be a key.

A late one...Gold Coast R2 - 4 Dafeenah.
