Stanley the Alves, wore No.15 with pride and was the complete wingman. Good choice for Langdon. (Stan also had the best blind turn and run-around balk - at top speeds - than anyone I have ever seen on the footy field. No sheet!)

TRAINING: Monday 18th November 2019

The good news - and our related pleasure to hear such - continues in regard to AVB. Great stuff. Maybe he could teach Preuss how to hit 'em in 2020? A Preuss-AVB body sandwich in our forward line would be everlasting glee. -
... and show a turn of improved form, disposal, attack, tackling...

Max has filled the shortcoming gaps in the previous dual captaincy without blowing his own trumpet, and from this assistance to the Club and all players has displayed a loyalty, humility and insight for all players alongside the welfare of the Club itself. This has been unmistakable. He'd be a better Captain as a solo entity - no need for Viney to roll as a second string - not with Gawn's qualities.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL

There is likeable logic in this. -
There can be no alternative, actually. It is well overdue to obtain our own club and training facilities - of a suitable standard, too - and it is a disgrace that the oldest football club in the world - in any code - has been left out to dry and crumble at Gosch's Paddock.

Yze Snr onboard, back into the fray as a Demon, the son will adapt ... particularly as Adem was a genuine star for the Dees, a massive identity at the Club, as well.

You are quite correct, old dee, but we can still remember and it is a privilege to so do. They were magnificent at times, the MIghty Demons, poorly treated by umpires, media and the predominant clubs like Essendrug, The Filth, Carlscum and a few others, depending on their publicity alone. We might turn the corner soon, so let's hang onto our hats in this re-development stage. Wouldn't it be wonderful?

Just the job for Jordan Lewis.

Poll: Who do you want with our first two picks?
Deemania since 56 replied to furious d's topic in Melbourne Demons
This sounds good (or better than other combinations (if 2 x first rounders are a neat and tidy entitled 'draft receive' ) - no debts to other clubs in the future, as well. Two young fellas that we can develop and simultaneously, put development pressures on our very young and inexperienced mosquito fleet. In the last two years, we made quite a few of these selections that, for one reason or the other, have not yet matured into confident skill sets for the MFC. Then again, we had Frosty (the fastest and best) giant mosquito - so we gave him away for a few lousey bucks to recuperate the wastefulness of the Club decision-making in the past; it's bloody sad. -
Really like this aspect of his game, as well. Seldom used but it should be more prevalent.

With his speed, acceleration and through increasing his awareness of forward line space, he could be the very best of link-men that we could muster. Forward line for me, with appropriate coaching/development.

The Brilliance of Robbie Flower
Deemania since 56 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Best player of all time. I'd reckon, in this bunch: 1. Robbie Flower; 2. Leigh Matthews; 3. Malcolm Blight; 4. Gary Ablett, Snr; 5. Royce Hart. -
I'd reckon that any team fielding an OMac is wasting the supporters' and members' time. It is like selecting Paul Callery for the ruck...

Skills, drills and role play. Might have a six-shooter in the hip pocket for 2020. -
2019 Player Reviews: #19 Mitch Hannan

Great moment it was, too. As good as it gets for an opportunistic goal. -

It is a riddle, the forward line. -
2019 Player Reviews: #19 Mitch Hannan

Again, the Goody-Fix-'em-up player welfare group and related hangers-on struck, and this time it was Hannan bearing the consequences too early, too severely and too unluckily. We are all hoping that he hits the recovery and rebound straps this coming season - he is worth several goals per game when let free. -

With luck and effort, he could be what we need (and comprehensively so). -
Jordan Lewis joins coaching team part-time
Deemania since 56 replied to trac5665's topic in Melbourne Demons
It is great news. I have been waiting for Lewis' activation in the coaching sector for just over twelve months now. He has a very great amount to offer the MFC - as a coach/communicator - and it was sad to see such a player attempt to carry the footballing load in the very twilight of his playing career. Kicking coach, forward strategies coach and more. I guess it could all start for him here. Great to have him onboard. -
Poll: Who do you want with our first two picks?
Deemania since 56 replied to furious d's topic in Melbourne Demons
That would be the best result, I'd agree. The field is tight and the daylight is not wide between what is available. Some astute on-lookers already identify three or four great pick-ups, and 3 and 8 would get two of them. Go for the jugular - do not bargain with available picks. -
The five year deal ... no ordinary offer for just '...an ordinary player...' - as we are incorrectly yet regularly advised. Onyer Harmesy! Keep going strong.
