The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
In Gawn we Trust replied to Nascent's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agreed. The last two months or so he’s been a lot better, I think his averages have been about 20 ish touches and a goal? I don’t want to trade him and see him become a star somewhere else, after the year we’ve had that would be pretty upsetting -
CASEY: Rd 10 vs Collingwood VFL
In Gawn we Trust replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Liked what I saw from Wagner, Lockhart and KK especially today - all looked a step above the rest. Petty took some pretty awesome intercept marks I thought and played a solid game. Lefau for Casey also intrigued me, looks like he has good footy nous and natural talent, one to keep an eye on maybe. -
Similarly what Gawn did with Jamar
-
Hawthorn supporters aren’t recognised enough for now feral they are - would say many of them are on par with the wobbles or bumbers from my experience
-
Hopefully a sign that we’re putting in work for him early, would be a great acquisition
-
Fremantle are trading pick 6 to port for pick 10 and a pick in the 20’s..
-
Apparently we’re into St Kilda’s Ben Long. Haven’t seen much, if anything of him. Only 21 and was a high ish pick in 2016. Anyone have any info?
-
Completely forgot he was pick 2, I’m rather excited for this trade period. With or without Hogan we’re looking pretty moist
-
What would you rather? I’d rather a pick but I don’t really know how good Brayshaw is

Gawn a free agent or out of contract next year yeah? Hope all of our younglings listened to Lewis when he was preaching about taking pay cuts to stay together. -

Was just thinking similarly, maybe the media is misinformed about the circumstances about their "meeting". Could've just been "coincidentally" running into each other and goodwin happened to get Levers thoughts on footy for next year -

I thought you weren't allowed to trade out of the first round two years in a row? As we traded our 2016 first rounder in 2015, correct me if i'm wrong -

Sorry, visiting the city. Kew more specifically, is what I was told. But again, just a rumour -

My mate is an AFL scout, and he thinks lever is on his way. He also said that one of the guys he works with is "best mates" with lever and apparently he is coming to Melbourne for the next few weeks when he can to look at houses. Sounds like one of those "my brothers mates dads cousin knows such and such" I realise but it seems like we couldn't be in a better spot to land him. Rumours are fun -
He seemed to be playing it pretty coy, as it was a pretty vague answer. Who knows what's going on in his head

I would've thought that he'd be past that by now surely -

Was just a thought, stranger things have happened. But wasn't he saying not long ago he'd do whatever was in his and his family's best interests? Whatever that means I guess -

Rockliff could still have another 4 years of solid ball left in him, as long as we didn't give up too much then it'd nearly be rude not to have him. Same as Tippett, although he's probably a bit too inconsistent for me. His potential is intriguing but in reality, I don't think he'll work out for anyone. Reid and Aliir YES & YES -

What about Lever and Rockliff instead? As scrutinised as he has been, he still is a pretty decent player. Its just whether or not he could fit in with us anywhere i guess. For some reason i feel as though he could be a more realistic chance to be ours, if he were to nominate us. -

Yeah exactly, i think oscar definitely has his moments and i am happy for us to persist with him as we did with Tom, but if he keeps having these constant brain farts every game as well then maybe they need to go in another direction, whoever that may be with. If we were to get a Mackenzie type, i agree he just provides that little bit of extra bit of help for them even if it is only for a short period. -

Yeah fair point, I feel as though if we got him it would give Omac a little bit more time to develop and not get given the burden of defending the main forward every week. However I guess experience is the only thing that will help him in the long run. -

If we weren't to get Lever or May, could we go for someone like Eric Mackenzie as a fall back option?
