  1. I think Kade certainly makes the grade - and he reminds me of my 7 and 8 year old self admiring Ricky Jackson...
  2. As is the closeness of the competition, and the fear of scrutiny, no team ever takes another team lightly.
  3. I applaud your your overt cynicism. Tell us your version of what you would say in the press conference?
  4. Any body language guru's keen to submit a report on his demeanor during the game and how it will play out for contract negotiations?
  5. Strangely, that's exactly how I would have elucidated it.šŸ™Œ
  6. With all due respect to the writer - I wish writers/journalists/pundits wouldn't dumb down language when referencing a match. I'd argue, we didn't have an 'off week'. May looked hobbled, Lever was out with an injury, Hibered was out injured, Gawn was out injured, and all these injuries combined contributed to a system that broke down....
  7. Heard it twice? Is that because he said it twice in very different ways in the one breath?
  8. Brought to you by "Melbourne Demons supporters weekly ponderings of 2003-2020" (tm) šŸ˜€
  9. too verbose? šŸ¤“šŸ˜‡ apols!
  10. Good point, and one that often gets missed when looking at games lost... It goes as far as each team at a pinch has a max of 2 'elite' midfielders, typically speaking on their list. If one or both go down injured - then the consensus is that teams don't 'bat deep' enough. No team bats THAT deep..ever... The greatest predictor of premiership contention is elite talent and having your top end talent on the park without minor injuries or discomfort. There is further nuance, of choosing to play whilst slightly injured, how that is played (or not discussed) in the media. "I think the whole 'Bloods' culture like the 'Shinboner' spirit is a little overblown- particularly by the media who love the romanticism of it " Following on to that - it's an industry of percentages from a performance perspective. We had good culture in 2021, but not the years either side of it? Only one team a year, really taps into their 'cultural heritage', whilst the others don't? Culture isn't ethereal - culture is about a set of personal (not organisational) standards that are operationalised behaviourally contextually, repeated time and time again... not just when it's easy, and when it's difficult. Yes I am being reductionist on a Sunday.. šŸ¤“
  11. Two things: On reflection, remember how around three weeks ago, Geelong had fallen off a cliff. Chris is a very very good coach. You don't stick around a club as long as he has as if it's an autocracy, or if you're a bit ordinary at what you do. Three weeks ago, Geelong were going to 'not' make the finals, now they look like premiership contenders. There is enough evidence that you are still a premiership contender if you lose to teams on paper that you 'shouldn't' (in this case GC Suns).... this evidence is transferable to Melbourne and it's loss to Essendon, and subsequent loses throughout the year. Happy Sunday everyone. 😘
  12. Bemused by all the nostalgia and sentimentalism on here... Andy Brayshaw playing with Angus Jackson returning to the Dees none if that will happen.
  13. I believe that is already freely given...šŸ˜†
  14. Always one to read into things... it's a nice vote of confidence for the value of James Harmes to the team when marketing are acknowledging him in the VFL...would that be driven via the FD? Or is it more around his personal circumstances?
  15. Whilst I appreciate the sentiments, these sorts of statements certainly reflect the posters mood and are not reflective of reality.. Geelong last year lost to Hawthorn Freo (at home) St Kilda
  16. I suppose it depends on the individuals relationship with this medium. Is it to connect and have some sense of online relationship to be validated, or is it to interact and get some useful information . *random thought right there…
  17. It's nice to hear... everyone's just trying to get through life. What's the saying again? "In a world where anyone can be anything - be kind".
  18. Is that an 'internal industry' joke? Hyper specific to cheer squads?
  19. not on 25m gained he will...
  20. That's fantastic persistence. Well bloody done. 3.5 years of hard graft. Correct me if I am wrong, but he was historically sponsored by Demonland right @Demonland? Get around him...
  21. Brilliant news! Also, love the avatar/image - a ripper.
  22. I’m not sure if there is a right or wrong but I’d hate for us to be linked to someone and it was telegraphed in April.
