  1. Who was the journo you sucked in with the Morton stuff a couple of years ago?
  2. Chook, this really is your favourite time of the year isn't it? Did you bump into Varcoe at a TAB?
  3. Jones, Tyson, Vince, Viney suddenly looks so much better with a Dangerfield in front. Dangerfield, Jones, Tyson, Vince, Viney. See.
  4. H still posts a bit on bigfooty. He's not impressed with his namesake - the other H.
  5. Am I the only one who thinks he's going to look really really weird in red and blue?
  6. Maybe he can see the potential on their list and wants to help a team in a premiership drought make some history. Apparently Dangerfield is similarly motivated . . . . he says with tongue firmly planted in cheek.
  7. Cheap Shot? Really? His first post was funny. You're probably right and the modern history of the trade period supports your view that superstars of the competition don't come to clubs like the 2014 Demons but 16 made the simple, light hearted point that all players when on the move highlight non-monetary reasons for their deceit. If Melbourne fans have learnt anything from Messrs Scully, Judd, Clark, Frawley etc . . . it is not to read too much into basically anything that they put onto the public record.
  8. Dangerfield and Shiel. Dangerfield and Shiel. Dangerfield and Shiel. If we say it enough, it will happen right?
  9. The guy on the right appears to be looking the coach in the eye. Clearly not Frawley.
  10. Women's exhibition, Little League, Grand Final Sprint; I'll take any win that involves a red and blue jersey!
  11. Just in case you missed the action. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2014-06-30/womens-match-highflying-harris http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2014-07-04/womens-plays-of-the-match I'm not giving in Cards!
  12. See, this is how bookies make their money. No one thinks he'll remain a Crow, even if for only a year?
  13. Fair call. Let's breathe some life into this thread then. As some of you may remember, I coach a bit of footy. And more and more I focus on coaching girls (school, underage rep and club) and have coached senior women as well but couldn't continue to commit the necessary hours with a young family. At a period in time when it's not always easy owning up to being a Melbourne fan, I've been incredibly proud of what our club has done for women's football. Our sponsorship of the Victorian League and our support of the exhibition game concept has been huge. I was a little disappointed in the quality of the first exhibition game, mainly because I knew how many quality players weren't playing but this year's game was a ripper. The standard rose significantly. I was pretty excited on a personal level to see a certain young lady in red and blue steal the show because I've been fortunate to coach her in a couple of different teams over the past three years. The female game is expanding rapidly with participation levels through the roof. The 2020 vision is something I thought was a bit of a pipe dream a few years ago but now I'm hopeful we may well have a national competition in the very near future. But I'm am wary when every time the women's game is mentioned on any footy forum the responses still contain some real low brow garbage. I just hope Melbourne members understand how passionate the girls involved in our Indigenous game are and how focused they are on improvement. Like me, you should be proud of what our club is doing and I hope you continue to support our involvement. When I coach, I always tell my teams that the most respectful thing I can do is to treat them no differently to a male team. Please do likewise when you discuss the concept and the future of the female game and do so with an understanding and hopefully an appreciation of the professional and dedicated commitment of the participants.
  14. It can't be us can it? If I was running a book it would be something like this: Adelaide - 2 : 1 Geelong - 5 : 1 Hawthorn - 7 : 1 Collingwood - 10 : 1 Melbourne - 20 : 1 Carlton - 33 : 1 Essendon - 500 : 1
  15. Even more impressive given that I'm posting from Queensland and we're still 20 years behind you guys.
  16. My realistic priorities for trades are as follows: Ruck/Forward: Zac Clarke Mature, running, skilled defender: Malceski, Suckling Experienced cheap midfielder: Another Cross thanks but preferably someone slightly younger. Possibilities? Young up and coming midfielder star: Another Tyson thanks (Shiel, Treloar, Mitchell please) Key Defender: Frost And I'd like to think it would be possible to add these five players and still maintain one of our top picks (2 or 3) assuming we get the 3. If we nabbed Shiel or Treloar I'd be open to using this pick on a tall despite the midfield, midfield, midfield focus of most on Demonland.
  17. Getting there. Need to find that 'taking the [censored]' expression and you've got it nailed on. Quality photoshopping skills are frowned upon. I've been spending too much time on English Soccer forums.
  18. That's the spirit Nash.
  19. This is my new thing. I'm going to persist until it catches on.
  20. If I'm Clarko and actually was in negotiations with Adelaide and my plans were being broadcast on radio two days before a GF I'd be spewing and take that as a good indication of the professionalism of the club I was considering and walk away.
  21. This is how I see things: 1. Dangerfield appears more likely than not to leave the crows. 2. More likely that Dangerfield leaves this year rather than next. 3. Melbourne have the best hand in terms of picks to satisfy Adelaide. 4. Melbourne not Dangerfield's preferred destination but we're not as far down the list as we often are given the Roos, Goodwin, Vince factor. 5. If Dangerfield commits to talking to other clubs it's likely that relations will sour further with Adelaide. 6. If Dangerfield's preferred destination/s can't come anywhere what we can offer, negotiations may break down. 7. If negotiations break down, Dangerfield may feel he's gone too far down the path of leaving and therefore can't back down. Melbourne might then have an opportunity to swoop.
  22. Football Porn analogies have been made around here in the past. This post smashes all classification laws.
  23. I thought I was being pretty clear. My initial post was clearly a poor attempt at humour. The quote attributed to Roos suggests that he hasn't personally spoken to Dangerfield. Having endured the Scully, Clark and Frawley sagas it's pretty clear all key footy people are now well versed in double-speak and deception. That's all I was suggesting. I've been on Demonland forever. I don't think I've ever had a source!
  24. Sorry HH, I've got nothing. I have no sources, no inside connections and purely a moderate at best sense of humour.
