lol, didn't pick this!

Fair enough. If we were into Rockliff then given the environment that would have been an appropriate response if we were trying to keep it very quiet. Like you I'd love him at the Club.
-
But you do have reason to doubt it whether you want to call him or not. If you know him to be wrong then you know his intentions. But as you say, each to their own.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
Vogon Poetry replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Except someone might trump us for Hibberd. -
I don't think we've gone near him either and if that's the case I hope GD is banned for a good long time. His rumour is not from a "friend" it's from David Noble, Operations manager of Brisbane. He will have nowhere to hide if Rockliff doesn't land and he will be shown to be a troll of the highest order.
-
Really? I think you do.
-
He has a reputation? He's guess right before has he?
-
Very funny!
-
Which just supports my position that GD is guessing. Rockliff is a very good footballer who would suit our purposes beautifully except for the fact he's got issues with his personality. It's not smart knowing we might be looking and it's not hard to put forward a scenario that looks possible and then at the end of trade period say "it fell over because Dunn wouldn't go or Brisbane couldn't get a pick in the 30's or simply we changed our mind - but the information was right at the time". It's rubbish IMO and the identification of sources shows he wanted to in some way validate it. It's 95% likely he's having a good laugh at DL now.
-
If you believe GD you're not as smart as I thought and I consider you a very good poster here. Don't believe it just because you want to believe it.
-
WJ often learns from my posts. Give him a break.
-
MIckey you may be mature enough to deal with this sort of rumour and you might like reading fantasy but the problem is a lot of people will take this to heart and be bitterly disappointed when it doesn't happen while the purp will run around having a good old belly laugh having sucked everybody in. I'll tell you something. Rockliff might come to Melbourne or he might not. But don't put your hopes in the post of GD because it sits alongside the Harry Potter books. And if you really want rumours I'll send you a PM full of them and you can get your jollies that way.
-
Very funny man Red! And so you just posted it on a fan site on the internet for the whole world to see with information that indicates exactly who your sources are with 2 minutes on google? If this deal is real why would you post it now? Why wouldn't you just calmly sit back and wait for it to happen? Do you think it makes any difference if we know now or in 6 days? Just FTR I don't believe you. I'm not saying it won't happen but I don't believe this information. I think you're making an educated guess and if it happens you'll be an internet hero and if it doesn't you'll come on here with a story of why it fell over. Believe me if you've got previous form (and I don't know if you have) there is not one footy person who would speak to you if they knew you put their confidential information on an internet site. So my conclusion is that you're either a loose cannon with confidential information and no respect for those that gave it to you or you're a troll seeking some sort of notoriety from a bunch of wackers (and I include myself) on an internet site. Great options aren't they!

Jordie McKenzie wins North Adelaide B & F
Vogon Poetry replied to Elwood 3184's topic in Melbourne Demons
Needless to say he won the Coaches Award as well. -
As was stated by another poster it may well be cash flow positive in addition to giving control of the stadium to the AFL who can run it with an AFL bias which never happened under the previous management. Despite what people think the AFL are not fools financially. In addition what is the site worth? Albeit there was an agreement in place I wouldn't mind betting the AFL has made a pretty significant profit on the overall deal. I've never understood the dislike for Etihad. I think it's a fantastic venue for viewing football. You get as good or better view of a game at Etihad than any other ground I've been to and to me that is the primary feature of any ground. You are guaranteed a "dry" game, good conditions and skillful footy. Despite the size of the ground the games are usually fast open affairs where the standard of play is as high. In the middle of winter the temperature is higher in Etihad than the MCG and getting there is so simple with Southern Cross station a short walk away. There are good eating venues close to the ground and the cost of food at Etihad is the same as the MCG. I do agree the issue of level 2 seating needs to be addressed. Our performance there is poor but I agree with TGR, if we are going to be any good then it's got to be anywhere, anytime, anyone. A negative mindset only provides an excuse to fail. If you've got philosophical problems with the AFL and big business then very simply don't follow the sport because your problem ain't going away. Footy is big business. As a teacher of mine once said "like it or lump it".

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Vogon Poetry replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd get a colonoscopy. -
You obviously don't know Chris Fagan. He mightn't be a wonderful success, who knows, but he's nothing like Mark Neeld.
-
That's because you're not always right.

You want to spend currency on upgrading depth? FM, are you trying to win Casey a GF? I'd love to be selling Encyclopedias to you. What say we try and improve the best 22 first.

If you think it's Buckley is making these decisions in isolation you live in la la land. But hey, I get it's fun to pot Buckley.
-
You dope, on so many levels.

You should pay attention!?
