Robbo will be a definite inclusion for next week, possibly for Juice. I think Jetta and Bennell need a rest in the magoos too.

I honestly don't know what to make of this loss. Kicking 4 goals is far from good, although the Crows kicked only 7 and we lost by 17 points. Compare that to last years game where we lost by over 10 goals and it seems we have improved... yet we haven't really. Backline stood up well, midfield had a crack and our forward line was terrible. Bate, Newton and Miller all had under 10 touches each and neither of them kicked a goal. That just can't happen.
-
Haha, 15 points in it! Stuff you Melbourne, stop getting our hopes up!
-
And they kick the first goal of the last quarter. Game over.
-
The thing is, IF, and it's a HUGE if, we could possibly kick the first two goals inside the first 10 minutes of the last quarter we are only 2 goals down!! Wishful thinking after only kicking one goal for the match but we certainly aren't out of the game. But you're right, our forwards haven't had a sniff today, although I guess the weather hasn't helped. It's not like the Crows have kicked 12 goals themselves so it's not just us.
-
Unless he kicks 5 in the last quarter he will be straight out of the side for Robbo next week... against Geelong. I shudder to think of what they will do to us next week!
-
For the first time since he took the reigns at the club I'm REALLY disappointed in Dean Bailey. His game plan today has stunk and he actually lied about what he wanted us to do - which was kicking it long and getting it into our forward line quickly - nothing could have been further from the truth with all these stupid handballs!! Plus we went in to the game with 3 tall forwards when it was always going to be a shocker of a day. How Maric continues to miss out is baffling. Our forward line pressure has been non-existant too, although with all the players we are pushing behind the ball it doesn't surprise me. I'm quite embarrassed by the performance today...

Juice misses from 10 metres out.... The more things change, the more they stay the same! Our terrible skills are on show today! Still no goals for us either, getting worried now!
-
Much like the first 3 rounds our backline is keeping us in it. Their backline is far too good at the minute and we need to dispose of it better coming forward. At the moment we don't even look like scoring!!
-
Where's your cape hero?
-
No, he won't. He didn't really help last year and he won't help this year. So he got 30 odd touches against Port Melbourne - we have enough of his type who can do alot more with the ball than he can.

Each week these threads are laughable and chock full of ridiculous changes that simply won't happen. I saw someone saying Bail will come in to the side - are you serious? He hasn't played for the last two weeks at Casey! Robbo coming in? Bailey already stated he is still at least two weeks away from a return. Bate getting dropped? Good grief... If there are any changes to be made this week, it will come down to McDonald and Maric for Green. If someone else were to get dropped they would be VERY stiff, and even then I can't see anyone else missing out unless it's an injury. Bartram won't be dropped and I can't understand why people think he will be. So he's not the most skilled player out there, but he is one of our hardest workers and he can shut down opposition players. Someone mentioned that he played on Nahas - I think you'll find that, when Nahas acually did something in the third quarter, he was being tracked by Bennell. It would be nice to see some form of reality in these threads for at least ONE week.

Juice Newton- Criticisms, Comments and Kudos
Wiseblood replied to Biffinator's topic in Melbourne Demons
The main positive is that he provided a contest, and held on to a few marks. Too often this year we have gone forward and had our attackes repelled because we couldn't hold on to our marks. But Juice put in a good, solid effort, and hopefully he can keep it up in the next few weeks! -
Not surprised in the slightest, although knowing Maric is playing means he won't come in for a late withdrawal!
-
I he did kick two, fair play to the lad! Good effort after 6 months out of the game! Any updates on the ones guys?
-
I'm not saying this injury is career ending, more that he continues to get these sorts of injuries each time he comes back from the last one. I'd love him in the side but he can't get fit anymore, which is a shame.
-
I hate to say it, but surely Whelan's career is on a knifes edge. If he has gone down with yet another injury then his days at the club must be numbered. He just cannot get on the park anymore. Good to hear Watts is getting through the game with no worries - I don't expect him to see much of it as the delivery would be shite at the level he is playing.
-
Maric is VERY stiff, although something tells me he may come in for a late withdrawal on Sunday.
-
Wasn't it Jethro Tull who sang "Thick as a Brick?" Newton is a cert to play. Haydo, Junior injured himself at the Thursday training session AFTER the team had been submitted. That's the only reason he missed out. The 18 that's named on a Thursday WILL play unless there is an injury to one of them.
-
With Garland injured or what is likely to be most of the season, Martin won't play up forward. With Frawley, Rivers and Warnock I think he MAY be a slight chance to get a crack down there, but I don't see it happening, not that I wouldn't mind if he did. I would actually like to see him run with Richo for the game. I'd back him in around the ground a bit better than any of our other key backs.

Master Watts to debut for Casey Next Week
Wiseblood replied to Salems Lot's topic in Melbourne Demons
Something tells me there might be a half decent crowd at the game next Saturday night... -
I like this description of Maric. Obviously won't be as good, but anything close will be a bonus. Great skills, good vision, knows how to find the footy and loves a goal. Given time he could become one of the most important players at the club - still needs to work on his stamina and defensive skills but time is definitely on his side.
-
We stink at AAMI, so anything under 10 goals would be an achievement.

Casey Scorpions v Sandringham 12/4/09
Wiseblood replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Who says he got dropped? Just because he is named in the Scorpions side doesn't mean anything. How could Jetta and Cheney get dropped, yet none of Meesen, Dunn and Newton come in? Use some common sense. -
Agree with Rhino here. Why not use up every last second to make sure you go in with a side you are happy with? Every other side in the competition does this on a regular basis anyway so I have no idea why you're whinging about it JJJ.
