  1. Could be the best decision you make all year!
  2. Is Schulz out of contract at the end of the year? Might be a handy get to play beside Hulk. I'm dreaming, I know, but it's all I have left when I think about potential free agents.
  3. Don't drag me down jnr!! Trying to forget it's his 300th...
  4. Agreed. Our midfield is actually pretty close to full strength and there is plenty of run there. If we can keep Hawkins quiet as well then we should be competitive. We will probably struggle to kick more than 6-7 goals for the day, and we will need a big day from Garlett (who is due to kick a bag!) but no Hogan really hurts.
  5. Will be a loss but won't be as bad as some think. They are missing enough players in key areas to keep us in the contest from the opening bounce. Will still be a 5-6 goal loss but not much more than that.
  6. Penis envy. They can't be happy with their lot but need to feel better by trying to compare him to Hogan.
  7. With BT fawning over 'The Total Package' Lex Luger and Darcy loving every minute of his old side playing tonight it's not surprising the Lions aren't getting a mention.
  8. He wouldn't last to our pick if that happened. Whoever had the first pick would take him.
  9. So good to hear BT cementing his position as the worst commentator in sport but constantly referring to Jake Stringer as 'The Package'. He is having a competition with himself to see how often he can say it in a sentence. His best is 5 at the minute.
  10. Even though he has been horrible tonight I still think Leuenberger would be a handy get for the right place. Being played as a stay at home forward, which is not his role, and with Stef Martin dominating he might be gettable.
  11. Ah Budge, you like being negative for negative's sake. HH may be up and down like a yo-yo, but he's right in this case. Roos and co. can see the bigger picture.
  12. Couldn't agree more on both counts. Obviously every Demon fan would want to see Hogan out there tomorrow, as I think his presence alone is worth a few goals and a reason to watch, but underneath it all I'm pleased to see the club do the right thing by the players rather than risk them. It's a good sign.
  13. Why? The kid is important to us long term. No good sending him out there with tight hammies, having him do one and miss a large chunk of time like Kent has. I'd rather him out there but I'd also rather him play most games for the rest of the year. It's the right move.
  14. This. I would rather pry loose a good young player than get a pick for Howe. If we can add a handy 20-22 year old to our core then I'd be happy with that.
  15. And only Melbourne supporters would bring it up every single week.
  16. Not too fussed with the result but pleased to see JKH named in the best. Will surely be pushing for selection in a fortnights time.
  17. Possibly, although he hasn't had the injury background that Hogan has. Plus he will get a nice break next weekend as well with the bye.
  18. Any chance Brad Miller wants to sneak on and drop a knee into Selwood's kidney like he did to Lonergan a decade ago? Edit - obviously this is tongue in cheek, not seriously wishing injury on anyone!
  19. If he can play well and stay fit JKH would certainly be a handy addition to the side after the bye.
  20. Good point. Poor result aside in that game he clearly played the following games well which showed that it was the best thing for him. We won't have to manage him like this forever, but if it's done in the short term to help him in the long term then I think it's a good move.
  21. Great move by the club. I don't see how anyone could see it differently. Not only does he get this weekend off but with the bye next week he has ample time to rest and allow himself the best possible chance to play as many games as possible in the second half of the season. A calm, clever and mature decision by all involved.
  22. Geelong certainly don't have their strongest side in and they are battling a few key injuries... but then so are we. If we turn up to play then it will be closer than some expect. If not it could be a bloodbath.
  23. Not a bad idea either really. Is Bernie a little more disciplined than Viney though? We know Selwood loves to snipe at players, duck his head etc, would he be able to suck Viney in a little easier than Vince?
  24. I'd stick Bernie on Selwood. Bernie would be terrific at sucking him in all game and is smart enough not to give away cheap, silly frees. Nullifying Selwood will go along way to helping us stay in the contest.
  25. You write this almost as if our lack of depth is surprising to you. We were always going to be in this position with a few injuries.
