And the holding the ball before that. Ridiculous. On a more positive note, great use of the body from Weid there. He is really growing in confidence every week.
-
Clearly held, too. Wasn't even a half one. It's a disgrace.
-
It's one positive from the quarter - we are using the ball very well on transition, and taking marks and pressuring quite well inside 50. If we can even up those stats above then we'll be fine, as long as we take our chances of course.
-
One thing we need to do is to get our hands on the footy. I think we are using it quite well in transition - they have had 101 disposals to our 57, but it doesn't feel like that. But we need to do more around the ground and to take more of our chances. That will take the umpires and their BS out of the contest.
-
We have missed our chances and haven't been great. I get that. But this umpiring has to be the biggest joke of all time. It is 10-3 at quarter time and they have been given some of the softest frees of all time, while they have missed more than a handful for us. It's outrageous and it's not as if this is a one off. We got the same treatment last week as well.

Shocker from Trac. He was too close to goal. Kicks them better from 50 out.
-
That's being generous.
-
I mean, what a goal from Kozzie. But how the [censored] was that not holding the ball against North? Cheats.
-
I'm getting the same feelings from early on in the Port game here.
-
Already 6-2 to North in the free kick department. This shouldn't surprise anyone considering we have the same three from 4 days ago.
-
What sort of a kick was that from Harmes? Rubbish.
-
Gotta take these chances.
-
These umps are a disgrace. Seriously.
-
Umps already giving them soft free kicks. Great.
-
Last 20 minutes before a game starts is the longest part of the day.

Dees fans moving on from the past? Perish the thought.

It is surprising, no doubt about it, but as others have said, we don't really know the inner workings of the club. Last week we were bemoaning the dropping of Oscar and that Goody had no idea. The Crows had three tall forwards and we couldn't cover them. Then they kicked 5 goals and our back line kept us in the game before our midfield won it. I'm certainly not saying Goody always makes the right decisions - we all know that isn't true - but this is one of those that we need to hold fire on.

On the surface the decision to make Melksham captain seems a little odd. May or even Lever seems a more logical choice. But we don't know the impact or respect Melksham has within the playing group, so there must be more reasons for the decision than we realise. Still, would have loved seeing May get the gig, but here's hoping that Melk can lead the boys to a victory tonight.

I've got the bloke on ignore so I missed it, but I feel slightly chuffed that he referred to me as a clown.

Sure you did, elegt. -
Won't argue that Hunt wasn't handy last season. His stats are proof of that. But he is well off the boil this season. Happy to back in the Spargo selection until late tomorrow night when he doesn't do much and I eat some delicious humble pie.
-
Developing. To me, he deserves a run at it. Hunt got his chance and did little with it. Bennell has been hot and cold. Time to give Charlie a game or two and see if he can cement a spot in the side going forward. He's shown he is capable of doing it.
-
Incorrect. He showed plenty in 2018, which is why he was part of the side in 2018 for most of the year. As ET rightly points out above, he stunk it up in 2019 but so did many others. Deserves another crack this week.
-
Only thing I'll say on this, is that Hunt has been given a crack this year and, for the most part, done little with it. Time to give Charlie a crack and see if he can do better.

Looking at their side, they will have Larkey and Daw forward, with McKay, Tarrant and Walker down back. That goes with May and Lever as the talls (and possibly Tomlinson, although he is named on a wing) down back, with Jackson and Weideman down forward. McDonald goes with Goldstein in the ruck. I don't think we look too bad when compared to who they have named, however the proof will be in the pudding.
