  1. We could be 10 goals up and it would generally be the same.
  2. Dunno how we can be even this close when, apparently, 20 of the 22 selected are pathetic, terrible and VFL standard.
  3. May and KK deserve time to gel in a new side. Think of how long it took Lever to settle last year.
  4. I'm here, mate. Only jumped on at half time as I know exactly what this thread will be like. Conditions are horrible, we're playing in hostile territory and we're in touch... just. That's a positive right there. We're struggling forward of the ball, and that's down to the weather, a few players being out of form and the fact that the Cats still have a good, and underrated, defensive unit. If we keep up the pressure and work out butts off then, hey, who knows? Maybe we can give ourselves a sniff. We're certainly not out of the contest.
  5. We are hanging on by the skin of our teeth. After a poor 15 minutes in the first, we've generally been able to break even around the ground. Our mids have already been better than last week, but we just need to use it a little better. The difference is their bottom six are playing a little better than ours right now. 4 goals isn't mission impossible.
  6. Kudos to any Demon fan who is game enough to show their face at GHMBA Stadium tonight. Not because you support the club, but because you have to sit among the worst set of supporters on the planet. They are arrogant, dumb and ugly. When you add vocal to the mix, you'll get spittle on the back of your head all night and a bunch of unintelligible words that only someone from Corio could understand. Good luck and God bless.
  7. Why? Alright, he's playing okay today, but he did that for us too. Then he'd go missing for a few games or get injured.
  8. This is a horrible game of footy.
  9. Bombers are all over the shop. Saints are distinctly average, which is why they only kicked 2.7, but Essendon should be five to six goals down right now. They are a mess.
  10. I always think we're a chance, no matter the circumstances, but I feel that even tonight might be a little bit beyond us. That's simply to do with our preparation and overall fitness levels. I think the Cats are more advanced than us and, on their home deck, will be a tough proposition. May and KK are handy additions to the side, but I'm not expecting a huge output from either of them just yet. It will take time for them to gel with the side and, even though they will improve us by simply being in the side, it will be a few games before we see that influence. All I want is a better effort, for longer, than last weekend. Going 0-2 isn't the end of the world.
  11. You can thrown Gawn in there as well.
  12. But... but... aren't teams supposed to miss the finals when they go 0-2?? I'm so confused!
  13. This thread is tailor made for old dee. He'll be bashing Weideman from pillar to post in here. He's like a kid at Christmas.
  14. It has the feeling of a game against the Saints many years ago where we wanted to come out breathing fire. We talked it up all week, did it for 10 minutes, and then proceeded to get smashed off the park. Obviously we're a better side than that, but I'm hoping for sustained, legal physicality at the contest all night. Anything less and we aren't winning this game of footy.
  15. The Hun are also saying that, due to good list management, we have enough salary cap space to chase another top line target this off season. It also means we have the coin to sign Weideman to, what I would hope, is a reasonable deal. They article mentions that May and Lever are both on around 600k or so, so if Weideman thinks he can get more than that at this stage, then he's dreaming. But negotiations have to start somewhere.
  16. Going by how their forward line worked last night, they don't need him.
  17. Thank goodness you didn't accidentally stick an extra K on the end of that thread title!
  18. And what of Preuss? If Frost does ruck, isn't this the reason why we traded for Preuss? Or don't they believe he has the mobility to go with Ratugolea? Too many questions, not enough clear answers.
  19. I floated the idea of him rucking as well, simply because it's the only logical explanation. Maybe we want to play Tom and Weid as permanent forwards this weekend, with Frost playing a third tall and giving Max the chop out in the ruck? It's not ideal, but they may see Frost as being a little more athletic and strong through the body to go with Ratugolea? I don't know. But I can't see us playing May, Oscar AND Frost together in the backline as outside of Hawkins and Ratugolea they don't have a great deal of height.
  20. Viney was never going to be dropped. I have a feeling Frost is in the side to pinch hit in the ruck and possibly play forward a bit.
  21. Yep, fair point. Outside of Hawkins and Ratugolea, they are rather small down there, although you would call Danger a mid size forward. Bringing in extra support down there wouldn't hurt.
  22. Interested to see what the changes are. ANB is probably higher up the pecking order, so to me, one of Sparrow, Spargo or Corey Wagner goes. Did Sparrow do enough to keep his spot? I thought he and Wagner were okay on the weekend and probably had a little more impact than Spargo, who didn't lay a tackle at all against Port. May will come in for probably Frost, KK may come in as well for someone like Hore, leaving one of the small forwards vulnerable for Lockhart. Oh, and congrats to Jay if he does get picked. Amazing achievement!
  23. I was just trying to be nice.
  24. It's convenient for him to say that, though. It's his out. He either didn't know anything and is trying to look like he did, or blatantly lied to everyone when he didn't need to say anything. I mean, why say everything is fine when it's going to come out that it isn't? It makes him look like a fool either way.
