The problem with this is that Ricky Nixon has publicly stated that Whitnall can only conceivably play in one position if he wants to continue on a list next season, due to the problems he has had with his ravaged knee(s), and that position is at full forward, where speed and mobility are not necessarily the greatest commodities. Now we already have a full forward with his very own set of injury problems, and I hope no-one sees Neitz being replaced in the side by Whitnall. I can understand what limited appeal Whitnall may hold, just, and I really do hate the way Carlton have handled him in the last week or so, but the answer is still no, sorry. And this is a definite concern especially given where this list seems to be being taken, so despite his "footy smarts" the easy answer to that is no !!!

Well said Bub, as for a different Melbourne unit......hopefully!!! Amen to that Hards !!!

Well, we (those of us that want him to succeed that is) can only hope :D !!!

Thanks for the photos Finks, the whole thing is pretty damn exciting........ And thanks to those who have cleared up the question of where our outdoor training area is. I was curious about that. I thought that the rugby ground as it stands now was going to be re-developed into an oval park for our outdoor training, but I guess that was a misunderstanding on my behalf. Oops!!! So thanks to Maurie and co. for clearing that up :D !!!

That may well be true if and when it happens here..... But I don't think that argument flies when you are getting into barneys in Europe!!! And while I respect Brock and his comments may well be the truth, that it was self defence, twice, and all, the unfortunate side is that it does leave a number of questions hanging over his judgement at this point in time. Of course that could well be simply because he is still only twenty-one, and probably got himself into a situation he couldn't get out of (as I have said before, I have been involved in a bar brawl that was certainly not of my doing and have some sympathy for our boys). My only thought though is that that explanation could definitely be used once, but twice involving the same people within a week is pushing it just a little. However at the end of the day hopefully lessons have been learned and we all move on !!!

Great post Bob...... My opinion on this particular topic is well known, so I really have nothing further to add !!! And unfortunately this is totally accurate, and I have no understanding how any supporter of any club can so actively "hate" and abuse one of our own.

Thank you guys you have summed up my feelings on this sad matter completely........ I find this whole this very sad, disappointing but unfortunately not that surprising. And it amazes me that the media have reported it like it is a huge shock that a drug addict with deep seated emotional problems and going through grief falls off the wagon and back onto the crutch he has aways known. Shocking, really!!! The way I see it, of course Ben should be help completely responsible for his own actions, and The Eagles in reality had no choice to do what they did, especially with the monetary and draft choice threats hanging over their heads from the AFL (very big of them to do that), but it seems so massively hyprocritical that now after he gets a little too difficult to handle and therefore can't, or won't be winning any more games (or Premierships) for them any time soon, they cut him loose. The Coast have apparently ignored what has been an open secret (in Perth at least) for so long simply because he continued to play fantastic footy (which is amazing all on its own) which suited them just fine, and therefore it didn't suit them to take a stand on his and plenty of other players ongoing off field behaviour. And please lets not forget the other players who have been overshadowed and unfortunately forgotten in all of this by the ongoing Cousins saga. Its a mighty list. All Premiership players - Daniel Kerr on police tapes and with two assault convictions next to his name, Chad Fletcher who allegedly nearly died in Las Vegas, Daniel Chick who again seems to have been allowed to keep doing what he was doing, yet again. Not to mention that he should be condemned for apparently being out with a friend who is a recovering addict while he gets high. Talk about enabling his addiction, and of course Chris Mainwaring dying of an apparent overdose. Yep their culture over their is fantastic !!!

Ok I realise I am being roundly ignored, but one more time..... Sydney will not be giving up their first round draft pick. Roos has said so, Maxfield has said so, the press up here has had it said many a time now. I think that we all need to move on from the fact that it would take an absolute miracle to get that pick out of the Swans grasp. And the closest thing we had to that miracle was TJ (and I don't think that would have been enough for them either) so, you work it out....... -
Congratulations to Cameron and Julia ...... I hope they are very happy in their future together!!! Maybe after the honeymoon !!!
-
Apropos....... Swans ask good price for stars SWANS coach Paul Roos last night remained adamant the club would not be giving away any premiership heroes after a fruitless day at AFL trade week. Roos admitted that midfielder Jude Bolton and small forwards Amon Buchanan and Adam Schneider were more than likely to stay at Sydney despite their names being floated by the club during trade talks. "Things have been blown out of proportion a little bit with them (Bolton, Buchanan and Schneider)," Roos said. "I'm almost certain nothing is going to happen with them (in trade week). We are not going to give any of them away for nothing, that's for sure."

On all fronts, what happens to these players will depend on their 08 season.
-
Me neither, he would be a great asset.

This really is the thing isn't it. But thanks for the good memories Travis, and we all hope that this is the right call...... I think it will be, probably for both parties, there is unfortunately a limit to how long a club will put up with such a laconic (at best) attitude. There is no argument that when he was good he was extremely exciting, but that was never quite for enough of the time. This could also be a huge wake up call for a few of our other less than permanently committed "stars". Good luck in Brisbane TJ :D !!!

Congratulations to you and your family Redleg...... I hope that the wedding and her married future is everything your daughter hopes for :D !!!

Smarty pants !!!

Add to that the apparent deal being done to get Morton to the Tiges.

I agree with you on those names Rogue...... And that is certainly a fairly massive chunk of our experience right there.
