  1. I think Green is on a power trip and doesn't want to let go.... it may be causing more damage across the club than what people realise, also considering how it looks to prospective coaches....
  2. Sounds like Green has got on a power trip and doesn’t want to let go…
  3. JVR is one of the most overrated players amongst Dees fans. I’ll say it again, he’s a bust. No forward craft at all, doesn’t lead, ball bounces off his hands and can barely take a mark, always playing from behind. Poorly coached, but won’t make it.
  4. Petracca, Oliver, Langdon, May, Viney all look terrible. Trac and Oliver don’t even look like they want to be there
  5. Petty is a backman. Tired of this experiment
  6. There are some pathetic effort smothers going on, multiple lacklustre attempts. I don’t see what bringing May back achieves, games into Adams would’ve been more beneficial.
  7. While I agree to a certain extent, We need to stop thinking like a small club.
  8. We saw the results on field and they were poor, very poor actually. But also consider loss of members and sponsors as we’ve heard the last week or two. There’s more to this than just Goodwin himself
  9. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Sounds like we are keen on Buckley but setting up a panel/committee to save face and make it look like it's a thorough search. Can't say I'm overly impressed "if" that committee consists of Green, a CEO who hasn't even started or has football background and Richardson, who many thought would be first to go. What if Buckley pulls out? Do we trust these guys?
  10. Cam is a different kettle of fish, he comes from successful organisations and has build a good foundation of skills outside of the Melbourne way, it is this reason I think Nathan Jones should be moved on after this year (plus he is the under performing midfield/stoppage coach), having lost 75% of all the games he played at the club, go learn your craft at other successful organisations and potentially come back one day. The last thing we need is the boys' club raring it's head again, which it looks like it is already underway. Cam has the added benefit of doing his apprenticeship under Clarkson & now Fagan.
  11. Totally agree, 100%. Normally always an ulterior motive behind them, it's often the managers with loose lips.
  12. Kozzy seems way off today
  13. Taking the game, clearing out the forward line - where’s that been for years? Even Petracca back playing hard at it again.
  14. Buckley Coach, Simpson to take Richo's role and Sanderson as senior assistant?
  15. Yes 0-3, but we finished 2024 1-5 from memory, combine the NM loss in round 2, then makes sense.
  16. What year was it that Sam McCLure got a call right? You'd think Tom Morris or Caro would have a closer ear to the ground.
  17. Longmire playing coy for obvious reasons, but I'd bet a coin or two that he has already been asked and those talks were started a while back and escalated recently. Just a guess, but I think the job is his if he wants it, but he will do his own due diligence. We will set up a panel to decide on untried assistants if Longmire doesn't want it. Phil Davis is right and we all know it, Casey is a huge issue, but it's not every training session. Whatever we do, we need to bring in people from successful organisations, ie; Swans and Cats. I'd be all for Longmire for 5yrs with a succession plan with Enright (he will have Bomber Thompson, Chris Scott, Ross Lyon & then Longmire as his mentors). However you'd think Longmire will bring his own army.
  18. Great interview and lays it all out professionally, all will be OK.
  19. Apparently Paul Roos has endorsed John Longmire this morning, so watch this space.
  20. Yes Green released one.
  21. So club statement says they will now commence their search......
  22. The facts are: Since it all hit the skids, out of our last 35 games, we have won only 12, and lost 23. Of those 12 we have won, we won 5 of them in a 6 game stretch this year. (this streak covered over the cracks) We lost 5 out of our last 6 in 2024. We started 2025 with 0-5. (that was 1 win of the last 11 then). We have lost 7 out of our last 9 games, including the embarrassing capitulation v STK. In the last 19 games, we have 8. We won 5 of them in a 6 game stretch this year. All this with a fair chunk of premiership players playing, a very good injury list which we may never see again.
  23. It's not so much the timing, it's letting him go out in a respectful way. 100% it was coming, but could of been handled a lot better IMO.
  24. I wonder if it will be Longmire with a succession plan for Enright, Skipworth, Montgomery etc.. Will the club go full untried after sacking a premiership coach? Going to be interesting, a part of me wants to feel like they already have someone lined up, but this is Melbourne, with an interim president and interim CEO.
  25. At the end of the day, it is a results driven "business", our record over the last 2yrs is appalling. Goodwin knows this. Europe holiday with an extra $1m and no stress, he will be fine.
